Terrible Experience at Hotel Lake Shadow*

My stay at Hotel Lake Shadow was beyond disappointing. The entire experience felt like a scam. Before booking, they quoted one price, but when it was time to check out, they suddenly increased the amount without any justification. When I tried to question it, the staff used rude language and were extremely unprofessional.

The room itself was a nightmare. It was nothing like the photos online—dirty, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable. The air conditioning barely worked, the windows didn’t shut properly, and the noise from the street made it impossible to sleep. The bathroom was disgusting, with mold in the shower and a terrible smell coming from the plumbing.

The service was just as bad. The staff were unhelpful, and my requests for clean towels and basic amenities were ignored. The Wi-Fi barely functioned, and the TV was broken. On top of all this, they lied about the check-out process and left a horrible impression with their unprofessional behavior.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. They lure you in with false promises and then ruin your stay. There are far better hotels out there that respect their guests and offer honest,...

It was kind of rude how they behaved at the end regarding service charge which ruined the experience for us. If you decide to stay there, I would suggest you to have a clear communication about this.

Rooms were okayish. It is value for money for sure, we paid npr 1500 per room per night. 4 people per room, two double beds each room, does not include breakfast which is okay for the price.

Staffs were not very cordial, but did provide us hot drinkable water on request. Which we initially thought was free, but it was not. While paying room rent, they did charge us for the water. The owner arranged for us a ride to visit around Pokhara. It was nice of him to be proactive and do this for us even though we later found out he was taking commission out of it.

The hotel also has a few scooter that the rents on request.

The shock was the service charge though. Never did they mention anything about the 10% service charge. When we initially discussed room rent, they just mentioned the base price and when we asked them about it while leaving the hotel, they did escalate and argued with us.
