本来上一次感觉食物和服务都还不错 因为每次吃饭都习惯点两菜一汤 这个样子 还有就是座椅十分拥挤,坐进去站起来很不方便,I recently dined at this establishment and ordered Scallion Beef. I repeatedly confirmed with the staff that it should be made with Chinese leeks, not onions, and was informed that the preparation would take some time. However, the server's smirk during our conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't shake the feeling that his smile was condescending and ill-intentioned.
After a long wait, the dish finally arrived, but it was nothing but beef stir-fried with onions. When I questioned the server about the discrepancy, he responded aggressively, asking, "What do you mean? Don't you want this anymore?" Clearly, he had ignored my initial specifications. I wouldn't have placed the order in the first place if I'd known it was going to be made with onions. It seemed he was so preoccupied with his mocking demeanor that he neglected his basic duties.
Surprisingly, a short while later, a new plate of Beef with Chinese Leeks appeared. I strongly suspect they simply picked out the onions and quickly re-cooked the dish with leeks. As a result, the beef was overcooked and tough. To make matters worse, some pieces of meat were still stuck together in clumps. This whole experience was disappointing, highlighting both the staff's lack of professionalism and the kitchen's hasty,...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at this hotel, so called The Old Lan Hua Chinese Restaurant & Bar and it pains me to say that it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.
The low point of my visit was when the waiter recommended one of their supposedly "signature" dishes, only to be met with a plate of what can only be described as their worst creation. The flavors were bland, the presentation was lackluster.
What was even more disheartening was the lack of proper attention from the staff. It felt like an afterthought, as if the waitstaff were more interested in other tasks than ensuring a pleasant dining experience for the guests.
The crowning disappointment, however, was the excruciatingly long wait for our food. Patience is a virtue, but the time it took for our order to arrive tested the limits of even the most patient individuals. The delay only heightened the anticipation, making the eventual disappointment all the more palpable.
In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel for dining. The combination of subpar recommendations, lackadaisical service, and an unacceptable wait time for mediocre food makes it an establishment to be avoided. There are plenty of other options in this area that are sure to provide a more enjoyable and satisfying...
Read moreWe got the recommendation from our friends for La Hua so after we came down from a 15 days trekk, where we ate mostly carbohydrates, we decided to give it a try.
Usually we don't don't go to Chinese restaurants anymore, mostly because of bad experience in our home country and also because of usage of lots of MSGin their cuisine. At the end, in our one week stay in Pokhara we ate there 5 times and for sure I can say it's the best Chines food I had so far. For sure they use some MSG, but in a small quantities so every dish still has its own taste. Vegetarian spring rolls are a must, I also liked Tofu with pork&black beans, and other dishes I can't remember the names. The portions are big, best is coming with friends or in a group so you can taste & share more of their delicious food. On the table you will also find Kikoman soyasouce (japanese) instead of sweet Chinese one. Green tea is served complimentary. Prices are very risonable, except for the beer which we found...
