Pleasant Home — Hotel in Pokhara

Everything you would expect when staying with family, I found at this hotel. They sent a car to collect me from the bus depot and take me to the hotel. The room was clean and large with a balcony to sit, relax and watch the sunset over the beautiful mountains. Fantastic view as I was on the 4th floor(top floor of the building). The room had its own ensuite with towels provided. 2 large bottles of water were provided free and I found these ample for my 2 day stay. There was air conditioning and a ceiling fan, though n ot always available when electricity was off. However the hotel had battery back up so you always had lights available. Large windows on 2 walls made the room light and airy - this was an end room so not all rooms would have this. The hotel has their own restaurant and are happy to bring meals to your room or you can go to the outdoor dining room. As a lone traveller, I chose to eat in the dining room and always had people to talk to. This way I met a lot of local Nepalese people and really enjoyed talking with them. The cooks were able to make food to suit me, being vegetarian, and the drinks were hot and lovely. The manager is extremely helpful. I just told him the places I'd like to see and he arranged a taxi and driver to take me around. The driver was extremely polite and helped me manage stairs and carry my parcels. The manager booked me into the Sunrise Tour to Sarangkot to see the sunrise over the Himalayan Mountains - fantastic. I felt safe and at home...
