I did not stay here. My rating is limited to their restaurant. My summary of the review is avoid. There are many lovely restaurants in the vicinity and this one does not deserve a trip.
Nothing worked for us. The service was extremely slow. We ordered seven dishes amongst us and everything was below average in taste. It was edible, but just not good enough and I wouldn't eat again.
All across Nepal, over our 9 days of stay, one thing we found constant was that the service staff was always very helpful and nice. Everyone would go beyond their call of duty. The only exception to this rule is this property.
We werent in any hurry, so slow service did not bother us. We did not request anything out of the ordinary or ask for any customisations, or make the place dirty or were noisy and the place was quite empty and yet, I would just not visit this place basis how non friendly the person who was serving us was. This person by the way seemed to be a senior staff member there.
What made this place a big show stopper was how unclean and unhygienic, the place was. For a place that is amongst the more expensive places in the vicinity, this is completely unacceptable. I would expect better hygeine standards from even a budget eatery.
See my pictures and it will tell you the story. The bathroom and the kitchen share a common wall. The bathrooms are worse than any public toilets it terms of cleanliness. You can notice the colour of the stone tiles and you will see these have turned black. These btw are not stone colour. Zoom in on any tiles elsewhere and you will see what I mean. The kitchen door is part open and the operations are visible as you walk into the stinky loo on the side. And I come from India, so my hygiene standards are more calibrated to the region and even I got spooked by the cleanliness standards.
I have given two stars simply because the location is great and the bar is nice.
Avoid. Definitely avoid. It's just...
Read moreThis has by far been the worst experience. We were on a family travel to Pokhara whereby suddenly Pokhara’s weather became tricky and due to heavy rainfall, the Pokhara airport was closed resulting in flights being cancelled for two consecutive days and making it impossible to reach there. Further, the roads were also damages because of landslide. The moment we received the intimation we communicated this to the hotel staff and requested for accommodation in cancelling the hotel booking and requesting refund.
To utter surprise, this seems to be a property run by sole money minded people because they showed no concern towards the situation and finally in the evening informed “since you are not coming so now we will not hold any bookings and no refund”.
Seriously, they run a hospitality business and they don’t care about customers neither they are concerned about a natural calamity or weather issue which is beyond control and awareness of tourists travelling for first time And in this chaos all they cared about was merely money and how to make more money out of someone’s misery!!
Despite multiple requests to be reasonable, the hotel has been absolutely non accommodating and they don’t bother to answer your calls or respond but just abruptly disconnect calls.
Absolutely not recommended if you are a first time traveller in Nepal because these people don’t care for your life or the situation you come across but they only care about making money!! That’s it. No hospitality, no genuineness towards situations, no genuine initiative to help someone. Shame in the name of hospitality!!
Even if I visit Pokhara ever in future, I will never prefer to stay here and neither would recommend this stay to anyone with the kind of rude and unsupportive behaviour they have shown!!
Please be very careful with your bookings because we have been informed by locals that the weather is always uncertain and...
Read moreI paid the price staying here one year ago and I cannot stress the importance of finding another place to stay. Don’t expect to get typical friendly Nepali hospitality at this hotel. Also, I highly advise against eating here. My experience was as such: I arrived in Pokhara and only ate food served at this hotel for my 48-hour stay. On the morning of checkout, (6am), I felt extremely sick and feverish and had to be taken to a clinic to be treated for a very violent case of food poisoning- the sickest I have ever been in my life. The doctor called the hotel, explained that I was very ill, and asked if my luggage could simply be left in the hotel room for a bit, even though it was checkout day, because I was undergoing testing, treatments, and observation. (Mind you, this is mid-December and nowhere near high tourism season.) They insisted I remove my luggage no later than 1pm. The doctor took out my IV drip and personally drove me to the hotel to help me get my luggage. Only when the hotel staff saw the IV port taped into my hand did they understand how my situation was. They tried to blame the misunderstanding on a language barrier, however the doctor called and spoke to them about my condition in Nepali. Due to the negligence of their food handling, I had to be hospitalized for 36 hours to the tune of 700 USD (not to mention the $160 I lost missing my flight to Lumbini and back) and they couldn’t even bother to just let me keep my luggage in the room for a few extra hours. This would be understandable if there were other guests that needed to check in, however, it’s December in Nepal and the property was next to empty. There are tons of properties at which to stay in Pokhara- go...
