La Casona de Luisa — Hotel in Distrito de Cusco

Stayed as a solo traveller. The entrance is not clearly labelled but my Uber driver knew the exact doorway.

The owners are nice and friendly and took me to the room, it was clean and the sheets and towels smelled freshly washed. Floorboards are really creaky though so you can hear other guests moving about at all times, it often woke me up (e.g. 3am rainbow mountain wake-ups or 1am from the pub).

The room is basic but has what you need. A comfy bed and plenty of blankets to stay warm. I faced the main road and the single pane glass lets in a lot of noise, but if you have been in Peru for a while you kinda just get used to that.

Hot water can fade in and out a bit and the host stated to only take a quick shower after 10pm and before 4am as it comes from a limited water tank at those times.

Sheets and towels cleaned every 2 days, room cleaned daily along with a toiletries top-up.

Nice common areas to relax including the main lounge/kitchen area, and upstairs lounge with TV and a small rooftop terrace. There is a fridge and microwave you can use to store and heat meals.

I missed breakfast nearly every day due to being sick and the host waited for me and still offered breakfast at 10am, very kind. Breakfast is some bread rolls with jam and some cooked eggs with coffee or tea.

The host is very responsive on WhatsApp. I managed to have a few short conversations via Google translate...

What a lovely oasis in Cusco. The rooms are sparking clean and tastefully decorated. It has two shared living rooms, one with a TV, and a small rooftop balcony. Yummy fresh-made breakfast in the morning. Elisabeth is a welcoming and helpful host. The location is perfect -- just a few blocks from everything in Cusco. You can walk everywhere you want to go from here. This isn't a party hostel -- it's a lovely guest house with a handful of rooms where you can relax and feel at home. Un véritable bijou à Cusco ! Notre séjour dans cet établissement a été une expérience exceptionnelle à tous égards. L'emplacement est tout simplement idéal, à deux pas de la place San Francisco et à une courte promenade de la place centrale, offrant ainsi une accessibilité parfaite à tous les trésors de la ville.

Cependant, ce qui a vraiment transcendé notre expérience, c'est l'accueil chaleureux et la générosité sans pareil d'Elisabeth et de son mari. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec une hospitalité sincère, accompagnée d'un thé aux feuilles de coca qui a été d'une grande aide pour nous acclimater à l'altitude. Leur connaissance approfondie de la région et leurs conseils avisés ont été précieux pour rendre notre séjour aussi confortable que mémorable.

Elisabeth était toujours présente pour répondre à nos besoins et s'assurer que chaque instant passé ici était des plus agréables. Nous avons tellement apprécié notre séjour que nous avons décidé d'y prolonger notre présence jusqu'à la fin de notre voyage. La gentillesse, la bienveillance et l'attention aux détails ont été constants, créant ainsi une atmosphère véritablement accueillante.
