This was our first visit since the closure and we weren't sure what to expect. The hotel has been leased to a Chinese company and a lot of things have changed. The cocktail bar has been demolished and there is no happy hour any more. One of our favourite things to do was sip a cocktail or two sitting in the sand watching the sunset. We had our normal upstairs room but the front of the building had been demolished and new circular steps put in on the ocean side. These were extremely steep for an older person. Breakfast, which used to be fantastic, has been reduced to a Spanish omelette although we were able to talk them into fried or scrambled eggs occasionally but there was nothing else apart from toast and two weeks of eggs became extremely boring. Chinese music was played all day in the new Chinese restaurant directly opposite our room. ||||Part of the cleanup was the removal of loungers from the beach front of the hotel. Because of this, we had to lay on a towel on the sand. You can get shade from the palm trees but we feared being whacked by a falling coconut. After I returned to Australia, I had to visit the doctor for a skin rash and itch. It was diagnosed as Cataneous Larva Migrans apparently caused by the larvae of the tapeworm biting me whilst laying on a towel on the sand where a dog probably defecated at some stage. DO NOT LAY ON THE BEACH. Apparently this is extremely rare and unknown of in Australia, only in people who have travelled to other countries. We have booked a return visit at a resort which has enough space to have off the ground loungers with sun covers. Despite this, we will continue to travel back to our happy place and the best beach in the world. Another bonus is the lovely nature of the locals, some of whom have become like...
Read moreRooms with the best view on the island! Definitely the best staff on the island.
I found this hotel while I was walking on the beach. The hotel has a very home type feel to it and looks super nice on the side facing the beach. I'm all about the view after being locked up for months staring at a wall due to the current situation and this place has a heck of a good view. Also very close to the water which I love.
Great location right in front of the monument. Also seems to be right in the middle not to far from anything.
I had been on the island for more than 2 weeks bouncing from hotel to hotel. Then I found this place and stayed for over 1 month.
The staff was amazing! The Government locked down D mall for 2 weeks and the manager of the hotel offered to cook an amazing meal at no charge to us. She knew we were bummed out that there was not much to do on the island due to lockdown.
They offered to cook us whatever we wanted as long as they knew how to make it and that they could get the right ingredients.
The price was very good and the food and extras where very affordable compared to all the other hotels on station 1.
At this point any time I'm visiting the island I will definitely book a stay at Nigi Nigi.
The people make the place but the view helps to hahaha. On the 3rd floor there is an amazing view with giant glass doors that stretch the hole length of the room.
My wife organized a surprise birthday I did not see coming. The manager and staff really surprised me with a bunch of good food and lots of decorations. It was pretty awesome. Don't worry they where covid safe decorations.
I will always remember my stay and how kind the people were at Nigi Nigi.
If u stay there ask Nato...
Read moreThe hotel was mediocre at best. We booked a room with sea view, good for 4, 2 adults and 2 kids age 6 and 8. When we arrived we was given a garden view room with one double bed and a single madress on the the floor. We asked why, since our booking confirmation clearly stated 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff informed that the madress on the floor was a mistake, it was expected that the kids would sleep in the double bed with us. After about an hour of duscussion with staff, the hotel was willing to give 2 madresses on the floor (they claimed that the normal price would be php 1100 per madrass) if we bought an upgrade to a sea view room (which we already had booked and paid for) for an additional pay of 21% extra. Be aware if you book with breakfast included, that you will be handed coupons, rated at php 340 for adults and php 150 for kids. This will not be sufficient for covering a normal american or continental or filipino breakfast with coffee and juice. We were charged about php 2000 for covering additional regarding breakfast for 3 nights. The hotel states that they are a beach front hotel version of the famous Nigi Nigi Noos, although, they might have same owner, however all the things that the Nigi Nigi Noos is famous for is not available in Nigi Nigi Too hotel, no live music, no bar life, no sport on tv. The menu is also amputated, as steaks, burgers and ribs is not available, which Nigi Nigi Noos also is known for. The only reason im giving the hotel 2 stars is 1,5 is not possible to give and that the staff in general are polite and therefore deserves a better rating than 1 star.
As always, in my reviews, management is always welcome to contact me if they feel wrongly...
