Mega problem: our party was spread across two rooms. The air conditioning unit in one room was not working properly - air emitted was nowhere near as cold as that from the other unit. This was reported by us promptly as the resulting high temperature prevented sleep in that room. Ana Montez, senior manager, told us she tried before our second night to find an air conditioning technician, but failed, and to find a portable AC unit to bring in, but failed. She did bring a fan but this was ineffective. Before our third night, we were eventually told that a technician had been and had reported the only problem to be with batteries in the remote control! Insult to intelligence. The two wall-mounted external units were clearly behaving differently. We decided to move out after we heard this, at 7 pm in the evening. The property managers readily agreed to refund the cost of the remaining two nights of our booked stay. I contend that we were out of pocket to the extent of some €300. Management will not refund that. During this period, information had to be sought constantly. Mega problem: the "guesthouse" was at the top of a tall four storey building accessed by a wooden staircase. There was no fire escape. I suspect this would be illegal if the property was called a "hotel" - somewhat deliberately it is not. It is clearly unsafe. Other problems: Common kitchen - OK in principle but coffee not usable at first until new filters were provided for the machine; waste in kitchen bins when we arrived not emptied until Day 3; no space for our items in the kitchen refrigerator - so we used the other fridge, only to be told as we left that we should not have used it - wine, milk and fruit juice were stolen from that fridge. There seems to be no intention to meet guests on arrival so "check-in" is a non-event with information such as "fridge to use" not given. En general estuvimos a gusto en el alojamiento. Está muy bien ubicado, cerca de una estación de metro, con un supermercado cerca por si quieres utilizar la cocina, y en un barrio con mucha vida. Nosotros íbamos andando hasta el centro dando un paseo. ||En cuanto a la habitación, nunca vimos a los dueños, pero nos dejaron todo bien explicado y no nos hizo falta ponernos en contacto con ellos. Tuvimos mucha independencia, la verdad. ||Nos vino de mucha utilidad poder utilizar la cocina tanto para desayunar como cenar. Está muy bien equipada y el resto de los huéspedes respeta la comida de los demás y siempre estuvo muy recogida. ||En cuanto a los aspectos negativos. Por un lado, lo que todo el mundo comenta:que no hay ascensor y hay que subir andando los cuatro pisos. Nosotros ya lo sabíamos antes de ir por lo que no nos pilló desprevenidos. Es incómodo, sobre todo cuando llegas con las maletas.||Por otro lado, la televisión de nuestra habitación tenía una ubicación imposible. En lugar de estar enfrente estaba en un lateral de las camas por lo que no la encendimos ni una vez. Habría sido muy difícil ver la tele cómodos. ||Tampoco hay sábanas, sólo un nórdico. No hay término medio, aunque la verdad es que no pasamos ni frío ni calor. ||Y finalmente, lo peor, para mi, fueron los ruidos. Las paredes son muy finas y se oye todo. En general, el resto de huéspedes fueron muy respetuosos pero hubo una noche que me resultó imposible dormir porque alguien de la habitación que estaba encima nuestro no paro de dar pasos como un hipopótamo durante toda la noche, hasta que se marchó hacia las cinco de la mañana.
