Nightmare at "Disaster Hostel": The Worst Stay Ever
I recently had the WORST of staying at Disaster Hostel, and I can confidently say it was one of the most appalling experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, it became abundantly clear that this establishment was a breeding ground for disappointment and frustration. Allow me to detail the numerous ways in which this hostel failed to meet even the most basic expectations.
Before anything I would love first to appreciate the receptionist she was really helpful and respectful.
First and foremost, Disaster Hostel proved to be exceptionally adept at parting guests from their hard-earned money. The exorbitant fees charged for the minimal amenities provided were nothing short of robbery. It's unfathomable how they can justify their prices when the bare essentials are missing. For instance, there was no sink in the room, forcing guests to trudge down to the shower room just to wash their hands or brush their teeth. The absence of such a fundamental feature is beyond comprehension.
Adding insult to injury, the unfunctionality of air conditioning in the hostel was nothing short of cruel and unusual punishment, creating an unbearable and suffocating atmosphere. And when I reported back the owner of the hostel he rudly replied that he can't do anything about it for now and that the weather at night would be pleasent!
Now, let's address the most disturbing aspect of my stay: the abhorrent violation of my privacy. Despite specifically booking a female room for my Friend, she was subjected to the appalling sounds of two individuals engaging in intimate activities in the bed above her. The noise echoed throughout the entire room, leaving me mortified and violated. It is inconceivable that Disaster Hostel would permit such blatant disregard for guest privacy, rendering their claims of a secure and comfortable stay entirely baseless.
In conclusion, Disaster Hostel is a woefully inadequate establishment that fails to deliver on even the most basic promises of comfort, hygiene, and privacy. The lack of a sink, absence of air conditioning, pervasive stench, and the traumatic experience of sharing a room with amorous individuals are just a few examples of the myriad ways in which this hostel proves to be a nightmarish choice for any traveler. I implore anyone considering a stay at Disaster Hostel to reconsider and find alternative accommodations that prioritize their...
Read moreAffordable for a hostel in the downtown with a view at the Santa Justa elevator. I paid 18€ per night for a 4 bed room (luckily had just one roommate). Except for one younger lady at the reception the staff is very friendly. I needed a place to leave my bike. They had no storage but allowed to just leave it in the hall. Nice. The rooms are small, no chairs or anything. But it's ok, if you are up to visiting the city. There is a large common room. One night other guests got a bit loud there and there is music playing from the radio while the TV is on. So do not expect a very quiet place. At nighttime it is not loud though, also no loud street noise. -The showers are worn down but still usable. I have seen much worse showers while traveling, not a problem here. Once again, it is not a spa. You can see the hostel gets used a lot. The style is not old. But there are some broken things here and there, most of them being rather cosmetic. If the owners would invest just a bit the hostel would make a better first impression. The breakfast is not a big thing but you get a something in your belly. But the same very limited selection gets boring on the third day. The coffe is free during the breakfast times (8 to 11am) Update: When I left they got a delivery of furniture. I spoke to the staff/owner and he told me they were...
Read moreNot a good hostel !!! The rooms were small and some beds were right beside the door. The showers in my floor had fungus so i had to go to the next floor but the water pressure in the shower there was so low that it took me ages to take a bath. The first night i woke up and went to the wc and there was vomit all over the sink, although they cleaned the toilet in the morning they left some of the vomit so it was there for the next day also. I find it terrible for such a big hostel that has only one bathroom per floor to be cleaned only once a day and not even good.
The man who has the hostel was very annoying and weird. I was eating with my friends and he came while we re eating(which i think is impolite) and started telling as over and over again that we had to clean our plates afterwards, but in a really pushy way. Also the next way i was preparing a meal and i was about to eat and he told me again to wash the pan, i told him i do it after i eat and he told me to do it now because someone else might need it, while there was 8 more pans ready and clean and no one in the kitchen.
The only good thing about it is that it is in a...
