Best Indian in Lisbon and possibly one of the best I have ever eaten!
We needed some quick food when we landed in Lisboa for the first time and found this place near our hotel. We went in with low expectations(mainly because we were not expecting too many Indian food options in Portugal). But boy were we surprised - we ordered Chicken Bhuna and garlic naan - the taste, quality and service was OUTSTANDING! It was probably one of the best tasting north Indian chicken curries I have ever had in my life and quantity was huge too at super reasonable prices (half of what we would pay in our native Bay area - California). Moreover, the garlic naan was thick, super soft and tasted great by itself. Easily better than any Indian restaurant I have had north Indian food in the US.
For anyone looking for authentic north Indian food in Lisbon area - this is the one!! I am frankly quite surprised this one has (at the time of writing this review) a 4.4 star rating while some of the others in the area have a 4.7 or 4.9 - having tried a couple of those, I can safely say this one beats those by a country mile! Dont...
Read moreNatraj Tandoori offers a delightful and budget-friendly Indian culinary experience right in the heart of Lisbon's tourist district. Don't let the location fool you – this restaurant delivers authentic flavors without breaking the bank. The affordability is a major highlight. For two people, a single main dish paired with a couple of appetizers is more than sufficient, making it a great value for the generous portions. The quality of the food is excellent, with a clear emphasis on fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. The ambiance is inviting, creating a comfortable space to enjoy your meal. The service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, Natraj Tandoori is a fantastic choice. It's a testament to how a restaurant can be both accessible and delicious, even in a busy tourist area. I highly...
Read moreWithout a doubt the best Indian food in Lisbon! (and Portugal, given the many I've also tried in Algarve and Porto, too). I have lived in Lisbon for 5 1/2 years, and we first went to Natraj Rato (they have branches in Areiea Cascais, Rato, Odivelas and Rossio/Baixa), but Rossio regularly now stands out as the branch which puts out the best of the best. We regularly order several of the same dishes and the quality is consistent. Excellent naan, good rice and distinctive and complex curry dishes. We have brought many friends and family here, including my father, who was brought up eating Indian food: everyone agrees it is the best they've had in Lisbon. Staff are polite, service is good and fast, and dishes are generous in both protein and rich sauces. Drinks list, especially the wine, is well-priced and traditional Indian Cobra beer is served ice cold. Thank you, Natraj Rossio staff! Highly...
