We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Santa Justa Lisboa from July 10th to July 13th, 2025, and I am writing this review both for future travelers and as a heartfelt thank you to the hotel staff.

Location: The hotel’s location is absolutely unbeatable. Right in the heart of Lisbon, it made exploring the city on foot incredibly easy and enjoyable.

Customer Service: Even prior to our arrival, I was in contact with the hotel regarding tours and activities. Their customer service was excellent from the very beginning — prompt, kind, and extremely helpful. They provided valuable guidance even before our trip began.

Arrival & Stay: Upon arrival, the warm welcome we received immediately set the tone for a wonderful stay. Every day, we were pleasantly surprised with small gifts left in our room: one day chocolates, another day pastries, and even a bottle of wine — thoughtful gestures that made our experience feel personal and special.

Staff: The front desk team was consistently polite, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They went above and beyond in helping us arrange a memorable tour, both within Lisbon and beyond. The tour they recommended exceeded our expectations. Additionally, they facilitated our car rental from Lisbon to Porto at a very competitive rate, which was much appreciated.

Room & Facilities: The room itself was immaculate, quiet, and perfectly maintained, with a fully equipped and modern bathroom. Every detail reflected comfort and quality. At no point did we feel like just hotel guests — every return felt like coming home, greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the entire staff.

One small moment on our last day truly captured the spirit of this hotel’s service: as we were checking out, I noticed a little girl in the lobby crying. Hugo, one of the front desk staff, kindly approached her and her sister, offering them a small gift — I believe it was a treat of some kind — which instantly lifted their spirits. It’s these small gestures of kindness and attention that make a lasting impression and show how much they truly care for their guests. Special Thanks: I will personally share with the hotel a list of all the staff members who, during our stay, provided outstanding customer service and made our experience so memorable. Bernardo Coelho, One of the best staff members at this hotel in terms of knowledge, customer service, assistance, and overall care. He provided us with exceptional service, especially when it came to arranging tours and car rental. Nadiya ( welcoming ) Xavier and Hugo ( following all the emails and our requests before arrival and did the amazing jobs). In summary, Hotel Santa Justa Lisboa truly exemplifies hospitality at its finest. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon, whether for the location, the service, location and the...

My Son & I have just returned to Scotland from a 4 day stay at the Hotel Santa Justa in Lisbon. We have stayed in many hotels round the world, this Hotel is right up there with the best!.

Location : Totally perfect in the Old town, 2 mins walk from the Rossio Metro & the square where the Bus tours leave from. 4 Mins walk to the large square by the River. There are dozens of restaurants in and around the Hotel to suit all tastes.

Hotel & Staff : The hotel is modern inside, fantastic restaurant & bar, with outside street seating too!. Breakfast was superb with a huge choice of fruit, cold meats, bakery, lovely bread & rolls, croissants, bacon, sausages, Eggs. Fresh Juices & excellent coffee. Dualit Tosters!. Our room was on the 1st floor, huge twin room, floor to ceiling windows which opened like doors with wonderful views to the street, which we loved. Enormous bathroom with a brilliant shower.

Great Air Con. Most comfortable mattress / beds ever!. Free mini bar with water, coke, beer, OJ. This is re stocked every day!. Tonnes of wardrobe space & shelves, drawers. Huge TV on the wall with multiple channels & UK channels. Useful room safe, easy to use.

In reception, they have complimentary fruits / pastries, fruit water for guests every day, a really nice touch. Very quick lift to the ground floor.

Staff : Again, the most professional / friendly staff i've seen in many years in any hotel. We were early for the 3pm checkin ( (arrived at 12pm ). We could leave our bags securely at reception. When we returned after lunch at 1pm, the Receptionist told us our room was ready 2 hours early and they have very kindly taken our bags to our room!. Excellent service. Every member of staff from Reception / Bar & Restaurant staff & Housekeeping made our stay very enjoyable. Always polite, very helpful, smiling & professional in every way. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Santa Justa & their wonderful Staff, they all made our stay a real pleasure!. I cant wait to go back!. Many thanks again from two Happy Scots!!.

Ps. The owners of this hotel need to keep all those great staff, so a pay rise...

My family and I stayed at Hotel Santa Justa for four nights as part of our vacation to Portugal. This is really an excellent hotel that felt premium and luxurious.

The rooms and amenities were well thought out, designed and laid out with good use of space. We did not feel cramped at all in our suite with a family of four as the room felt very spacious and modern. The included free mini bar drinks with cold beer, coke, sparking water and water were especially welcomed after a day in the sweltering August heat and were restocked every day.

The hotels also had its own restaurant (the Elevator) which we didn't try but we enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the food options available every morning all of which were fresh (especially the fruits) and delicious.

The hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly and very generous with us, we definitely appreciated their efforts and hardwork at making our stay great.

The location was also a highlight, being placed on the north side of Baixa where you have easy and convenient access to one of Lisbon's most historic and vibrant areas, while just being a stones throw from a vast number of historical monuments and only several minutes walk from the Metro, busses and trams.

At the same time, as incredible as its location is, it is also a slight bit of downside if you're someone who prefers a bit more peace and quiet. Being in Baixa there is still some night life in the area so there will be a fair bit of noise, sometimes into the later hours well past midnight. Also, the street of the hotel entrance is lined with restaurants who have staff standing by trying to get you to eat there everytime you walk by, which means you have to essentially run a "gauntlet" everytime you enter or leave the hotel.

Now, none of these are the fault of the hotel at all as they cannot control these factors but it is important for anyone thinking of staying in Baixa to consider. With that said, Hotel Santa Justa is a lovely place to stay in Lisbon and I would highly...

The hotel itself is in the heart of the nightlife! Everything you need is in front of the door. Several restaurants, bars, shops, Starbucks (for you cafe junkies) So the selection is extremely large and everything is within walking distance. The hotel : The rooms are comfortable and modern furnished, The staff very friendly The food in the hotel reasonable and delicious. The inventor modern and beautiful to look at. Air fresheners throughout the hotel A PC with a printer (top!) Umbrellas for all guests (top!) Negative: Overpriced!!!!!!! A lot is broken! In the bathroom the faucet falls off The water in the toilet runs without being able to stop it. Hygiene is bad! very badly cleaned (hair , stains from the guest before .. ) Much of the inventory is unfortunately already a bit run down feels more like 2 stars (sorry) noisy guests In the evenings from 9 p.m. strange characters cavort in front of the hotel, who want to sell you drugs, sometimes with force won't visit again sorry ! Tips for the trip : Don’t use the tuck tuck cars ( expensive like hell ) 10 min driving for 30 bugs .. (27 Euro ) Use Uber or rent a electric motorcycle for small money ( recommend ,,Electra,, 50 bugs for 3 Days ! ( Don’t use taxis ! ( cheating) Airport to the hotel : 35 Euro Hotel to airport with Uber 11 Euro ! Pay attention to the tourist restaurants surrounding the hotel, they are overpriced and the food tastes soulless!

We enjoyed our stay here a lot. The room was spacious, some little details can be improved like the rusted garbage can in the room. Shower is really nice with a lot of water pressure, not something you find in most places! Mini bar is free and is replenished daily (this includes beer and soda). We also got a small farewell gift (olive oil and sardines) which is a nice little touch. Breakfast was included and really good to be honest - a lot of choices. Roberto in the evening was always super helpful to our family. Also note this hotel offers afternoon tea to its guests, so if you are around there’s a few pastries and coffee available at the lobby (little attentions that are nice) Super well located hotels, next to the square where you pick up tuktuks or the hop on hop off bus. It is also located on a street that is accessed only by foot unless you check in and out early in the AM. It’s closed to a lot of touristy restaurants and the shopping. Close to Starbucks and also close to the best custard tarts pastry shops! Note that they have 2 buildings next to each other, so your room might be in the other building. There’s also always police presence in the area, so it felt super safe! My only “-“ is the smell of some kind of strong perfume in the hallway.

OVERALL: Excellent GETTING THERE: 30 minutes on the metro from the airport, one change to the Green Line. Get off on the Rossio station. 1 minute walk from there. VALUE: Not budget, but certainly affordable for its 4-star comfort. ROOMS: Small but comfortable. Window opened to the street but outside noise doesn’t get in. TV, Nespresso (but no cream or sweetener), water, juice in the fridge (included). Safe in the closet. BATHROOMS: Shower is heavenly. Rain shower makes you want to stay in there forever. Hand shower has very high pressure so be careful. Clean. LOCATION: Almost ideal. Can walk to metro, St. George’s castle, Lisbon Cathedral, Santa Justa elevator, Open market. Plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops on the same street. DO NOTs: DO NOT indulge the young men on the street trying to sell you hashish and marijuana. Cops told us what they’re doing is not illegal because what they are selling is fake. Still, be sensible. SUMMARY: I will definitely recommend this to anyone trying to spend a few days in Lisbon on vacation.
