This is a great location, in the heart of the tourist area. It is easily accessible to the metro, as well as the buses. You can walk for Miles through the winding streets and alleys of La Rambla and the gothic quarter.||This is a budget property, so we weren't expecting a palace. The place is kept relatively clean, but maintenance is very very poor. We had a room with a bath,. but the hanger for the handheld shower was broken, so it was difficult to take a shower, holding the shower in one hand in the soap in the other and trying not to flood the rest of the bathroom. We actually ended up using the shared shower that other people use simply because it was more convenient to use.||My biggest complaint was that when we checked in we wanted two sets of keys. We don't always go out together. They charged us 10 Euro to "Go have keys made". He miraculously delivered them to our room about a minute and a half later, and said "the key shop is very close". The keys already had a tag with room 203 on them when he delivered them. When we checked out they refused to refund our ten euro for the keys, so on principal we kept them. I cannot prove, but I believe it was a way for the desk man to make 10 euro while working. ||Additionally, the room description, shows that there was a refrigerator a microwave etc that I assumed would be in the room. That was not the case. These things are in a common area so you share the refrigerator with everyone else in the hotel.||While the experience wasn't really bad, it could have easily been...
Read more"The hotel is a disaster, the hotel room didn't have an air conditioner nor a shower although the room was meant to be used by 3 people. There was no internet reception in our room so we had to go to the hallway to connect to the internet, the hallway had a microwave which is good for people who want to warm their food. The night was a catastrophe because the air was so humid and hot inside, the other people in the other room were extremely loud and the noises from the street came into our room although the windows were closed. We complained and we moved to downstairs, they gave us two rooms one for me and the other bigger one for the rest, it was a huge relief that the two separate rooms had efficient air conditioners and the wifi was working on both rooms well. The bigger room had a shower and a toilet but the smaller one didn't have any of that. But on the night the hotel staff were extremely loud as they listened to Indian music, talked very loud with their phones, walked around talking and constantly closed and opened the doors like they were looking for something. Maybe the only pros were that the hotel was so close to everything, the bus station was on same street next to the hotel building door, the metro stations were across the street and the main city was like 15 minutes from us. The very cheap and big grocery store Carrefour was close to us about 10 minutes of walking, don't go to the other small "supermarkets" since they are...
Read moreThere are three good things about this hotel: (1) it's location - right on Las Ramblas, it is central to Barcelona night life and the sights; (2) Air conditioning in the room was fantastic; (3) No external noise - but that's because my room didn't have a window.|Although the location is central, it is also placed squarely in the least salubrious area of Las Ramblas - although the cannabis shops and Erotic Museum are close to hand, if that's what you're looking for. The staff were unfriendly and I couldn't find a language that they were coherent in. The entrance was looks like it's for a seedy hotel where the rooms are hired by the hour - an impression that didn't change when I got inside. I shared a shower and a toiler. The shower cubicle was sized just like a coffin and one of the doors on it was stuck -- because of the mould.|Although there was no noise from the street, there was considerable noise through the walls from other rooms and from reception where the staff member seemed to delight in having his friends in for lour conversations in the middle of the night.|I live in Slough, so I know what a fetid hole is like ........
