I recently enjoyed a delightful 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Alpina in Zermatt, and it was an exceptional experience. The hotel's charming ambiance, combined with its central location, made it the perfect base for exploring this picturesque Alpine village.
From the moment I arrived, the staff at Hotel Alpina made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality and attentive service. My room, though cozy, was comfortable and offered stunning views of the Matterhorn, which was a breathtaking sight each morning.
During my stay, I had the pleasure of visiting several key attractions in Zermatt. The Matterhorn Museum - Zermatlantis provided fascinating insights into the history and culture of the region, including the legendary first ascent of the Matterhorn. I also took a memorable trip on the Gornergrat Railway, which offered panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.
Strolling along Bahnhofstrasse was a treat, with its charming shops, inviting cafes, and a variety of dining options. The proximity of the hotel to the ski lifts and cable cars made it incredibly convenient for accessing the slopes and enjoying some of the best skiing in the Alps. I also appreciated visiting the Church of St. Mauritius and the poignant Mountaineer's Cemetery, which added a deeper cultural and historical dimension to my visit.
Exploring the numerous hiking and biking trails around Zermatt was another highlight, providing a fantastic way to experience the natural beauty of the region. Each day was filled with activities and discoveries, all easily accessible from Hotel Alpina.
Overall, my stay at Hotel Alpina was a wonderful blend of comfort, convenience, and captivating experiences in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to...

( thought towels/face washers were for washing your face etc.|- bottom sheet was not linen it felt and looked more like a synthetic mattress protector.|- there was machinery stored in a dilapidated shed thing just outside out balcony door. On a first story room.|- no room to put an open suitcase|- floor was uneven so your head felt downhill in bed|-the balcony floor was cement and was broken and chipped (trip hazard)|We were travelling for 6 weeks in total and this was the worse hotel we stayed in by far. I tried to upgrade but was told that was not possible. I had done my research and was totally surprised by the state of the room. Maybe they have an old part and a newer part? But this room was very disappointing, to be honest I have stayed in much better cabins in Caravan Parks and paid...
