Room D2107 - This room is opposite the pool where the big slides are and very close to the restaurant - perfect location for myself and 6 yr old son (saved going up/down the stairs to the room every 5 mins..!). There's a porch area with sun loungers. The bathroom did have a drain smell for a few days but then disappeared. We did however get eaten alive in this room - day and night when asleep (we did not experience this anywhere else in Thailand). We slept with the door closed and barely opened it unless quickly. Not sure where they were coming from but I reported it to reception who put in an electronic deterant which mildly helped. I couldn't see any other residents who had been bitten as much as us - other than that, great room, amazing bathroom and accessories. Our room was only cleaned once during our 6 nights and it's done with a light broom and dusting. I ended up cleaning it myself with Dettol. The beds are very firm but lovely soft pillows.
The hotel itself is fab, set up for families with the water slides, pool areas, and baby/toddler area. My only fear was that there are no slip guards or grip rails going up to the various slides (which are all high up windy and very wet stairs). The kids slip over as well as the adults and it's not really safe. My worry was my son would slip on the stairs backwards and end up badly hurt as the stairs are stone. I either walked him up each time or went down the slides after him.
Unfortunately the pool bar was not open..didn't look like it ever had been which is a massive shame. There is a kids club but we were poolside mainly. It's a shame there's no activities run by staff as that would be a lot of fun for the kids.
The restaurant is lovely looking- breakfast was great and very varied, although definitely not enough downstairs tables away from the sun. There are additional tables upstairs though. They do a dinner there which is buffet for 499 adults & 299 kids - I only recommend this if you eat all food groups and no allergies etc. I'm a vegetarian and ended up only being able to eat plain rice with carrots and broccoli. My son was happy though and ate a lot for his money.
Location is great, 500m from Kata Beach - but know this is not Kata Noi where it's much quieter. Kata is bustling and has a lot of vibe going on. Outside the hotel entrance there is a minitmart- not badly priced, but 5 more minutes down the road to the right is a small but great 7/11 :). Grab a bottle opener as none in the room. Comparison hotel Chaing/ Singha are double than 7/11.
Overall, yes I'd recommend this hotel for families but not adults only looking for a...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful Location and Great Potential!
We stayed at Pamokko for 7 nights, and overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to Kata Beach, one of the best beaches for swimming and surfing, especially in October. It’s very close, but the heat can be tough for young kids, so I hope in the future the hotel can offer a shuttle service to the beach to make it easier for families with children.
The pool area and slides are absolutely sensational — my kids loved them so much they couldn’t go a day without swimming! It would be even better if the lifeguard could be stationed at both the top and bottom of the slide instead of calling from afar, to help manage safety more efficiently.
It would also be helpful to have a towel station near the pool for guests who forget theirs, and some drink menus or a waiter on standby around the seating area — that would make it easier for guests to order and could even help boost the hotel’s revenue.
The breakfast buffet has a great variety of choices and everything tastes fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful, though sometimes it takes a bit of time for plates to be cleared after meals. Still, their kindness and positive attitude always make mornings pleasant.
The cleaning staff are also very kind and responsive, but a little more attention to detail would make a big difference. For example, when we first arrived, we couldn’t find toothpaste and toothbrushes and had to call for a refill, and sometimes noticed a bit of sand or dust around the room.
The room is spacious and comfortable, but the bed is quite firm, which may not suit everyone. We also asked for extra pillows, but unfortunately, only one comfortable pillow was available, which made it difficult for me and my kids to share at night. It would be great if the hotel could provide additional pillows and perhaps add a mattress topper to make sleeping more comfortable.
Overall, Pamokko has amazing potential — with its great location, fun facilities, and friendly team, it’s already a wonderful place for families. With just a few small improvements and a little extra attention to detail, it could easily become one of the best family resorts in...
Read moreWe stayed here for 7 nights from 4-11 jan. We arrived at night to check in, the guy who worked in the reception was not very friendly and English is very bad. We booked through luxury escapes for half board which include breakfast and lunch or dinner. Room is spacious the only criticism is the shower drain not draining fast enough. if you have three people showering consecutively, it will flood the area. Mosquitoes is another issue that we found. My son is allergic to mosquito bites. We tried our best to kill as many and make sure the doors are closed but somehow the next day, there will be 5-6 new mosquitoes miraculously inside the room.
The hotel needs to train the staffs better. House keeping hardly wash your glasses or cups and always forget replacing the used instant coffee. they only wash your cups every 3-4 nights. The staffs at the reception and inside the hotel always use loud voice whenever communicating to guests. For example when I could not get our lunch in the bar because of the half board, I needed to go to reception to explain my half board deal and then they started shouting in front of guests and calling the bar with loud tones. The other time I witnessed the gym attendant raising her voice to Russian tourist because he brought his kid into the gym. The Russian did not accept being yelled at and yelled back at the staff on how she handled the situations. There is a sign in the gym but it's in English. I believe the staff simply can just explain to guests in neutral tone without having to raise her voice. This is Thailand, land of smiles not land of yelling.
Breakfast is ok, not many selections. Especially asian / thai section. I ended up just having their noodle soup section every day. They don't change much of their food as well on daily basis. Also they play the same music for breakfast and dinner. Same songs, over and over again. After a week, the songs stuck on your head.
Slides are very steep but I guess it's good for people are really daring but not for everyone.
Overall it's a good resort but the staffs just need more training. Location is good, many cheap and quality massages nearby and walking distance...
