This is my honest review after checking out today. Please read this and take what I am saying with serious consideration. My partner and I booked this hotel after reasoning we would be fine with a basic hotel as long as the location was great. Here’s what we found…on arrival we were given a card to access our room it was room B2. On first impressions the room was very small the images do not do it justice as it will be much smaller then you can imagine and the patio opened up to a small area with high walls and no view.|We weren’t expecting a luxurious room so we made do. We decided to head out and explore. The location was fantastic as everything was a short walk away. When we returned for a rest here is where things started to go wrong. The lights were flickering which was very annoying. The toilet seat was stuck on and fell off once sat on it. The kettle boiled for a suspiciously long time so when I turned it off I burnt my finger because of how hot the outside of the kettle handle was. I unplugged it quickly for fear of an electrical fault. Don't they check these things before they give a room?|We complained to reception who said they couldn’t do anything and would sort the lights out by 12 midday the next day. In the morning we went up for breakfast which was the worst at any hotel we have stayed at due to the fact that their was very basic food choices.|We went to reception to ask when the lights would be changed and were told the manager was on the way after a very long wait the reception told us the manager had agreed to an upgrade but we needed to speak to the manager when he arrived. We moved in and was called down to speak to the manager and in the conversation I began to let him know of the issues before he interrupted me and said he knew. He let us know he had given us an upgrade and we thanked him. We entered our new room it was bigger and had a bigger bed and an extra single bed across the room. There was a sewage musty smell we decided to air out the room leaving the balcony window and doors open but the smell remained.|After a long day of exploring we lay on the bed which was directly under the air con. My partner kept looking at me as if i had done something so I asked him what was up then I saw a drop of liquid land directly on his face from the air con which soon wet his side of the bed. Unhygienic!|Keen not to make s fuss especially after the previous room he calmly just slept on the single bed whilst I stayed on the side of bed which didn’t have the air con above it.|Today at checkout the manager decided to charge for the upgrade an extra £50 !|I mentioned to him the room he had given us wasn’t as advertised we did not want nor ask for an upgrade we wanted what we paid for! It wasn’t advertised as a broken down room with flickering lights and a broken toilet seat and kettle and in regards to the upgrade the new room wasn’t fit for purpose as a couple to be sleeping on separate beds and this was the reward we got for not making a fuss and above all their was no mention of an additional cost of the upgrade which shows the underhand tactics being employed.|The managers response was he had been in this industry for a long time whilst I was just a mere worker at a hotel and he took the money which we paid as we didn’t want issues abroad especially with a flight to catch|Don't overlook other hotels because this one appears cheaper as we were forced to pay extra. They actually give you a broken room without any compensation or responsibility. We never imagined a hotel could even operate like this with high ratings|Lastly do not fall for any speeches you hear at check in by the manager we were given a long talk on how not to get ripped of by the local taxis and how annoyed he was at tourists getting ripped of he then said he would plan all the days we stayed and said he was waiting for us and made us feel awkward in wanting to do our own things. He recommended his friends restaurant for food which was horrible and yes you guessed- overpriced!|Be careful you have...

Read moreThis was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property.
I initially booked a 4-night stay with my family, including my 4-year-old child. Upon check-in, I was told to pay in cash the next morning. However, the services listed on Booking.com were not available in the room. When I raised the issue with the receptionist, I was told the manager was not present. I also left a message through Booking.com to report the situation.
Later that morning, the manager called me and began harassing me—threatening to throw my belongings out of the room if I didn’t return by 12 PM. I repeatedly explained that I needed time to find an alternative property and that I was traveling with a small child, but he was aggressive, rude, and completely unprofessional.
I was forced to return to the hotel and pay for the one night I stayed (via credit card), but I was not provided with an invoice. To make matters worse, the manager then cancelled my entire 4-night booking on Booking.com, likely to avoid negative feedback.
It was an extremely distressing and unacceptable experience, especially with a young child. I felt harassed and unsafe. I had to urgently find another hotel at a much higher cost.
Booking.com, unfortunately, has not been able to resolve this situation or hold the property accountable, which is disappointing as a loyal Genius member.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and urge Booking.com to reconsider working with...
