I stopped by chance during my visit to Istanbul last year. The reception staff was so welcoming and provided me with information about the hotel that I decided to stay this year without hesitation. The hotel is within walking distance of all the historical sites. The hotel lobby features the ruins of the Old Palace, dating back to the Roman and Byzantine periods. The decor is truly elegant and evokes the historical atmosphere of Istanbul. The hotel rooms share the same historic, classic design. The furniture is old and the bathtubs, in particular, need maintenance, but the cleanliness is quite adequate. The air conditioning works well, and the soundproofing between the rooms is excellent. If you're only using the room for sleeping and aren't looking for anything too luxurious, the rooms are quite adequate and comfortable.||The view from the rooftop terrace is magnificent and impressive; enjoying your coffee early in the morning and admiring the view from the terrace is a real pleasure. The breakfast buffet is adequate, and the coffee selection is especially delicious. The young female service staff is very polite and helpful. However, I regret to say that the other male service staff need to improve their courtesy.||I cannot praise the reception team enough. They were very helpful, attentive, and willing to provide information. I would especially like to thank the reception manager. He has a strong general knowledge and is very professional. I recommend this hotel to those who want to feel the history...

Read moreI had a wonderful stay at this Hotel. Clean, cultured and centrally located, it was the the perfect choice for visiting all the historic sites of Istanbul. In fact, the hotel itself boasts an impressive array of artefacts which were found on the site. They have been carefully conserved and cleverly incorporated into the hotel. The staff are so welcoming and accommodating. Firat, the afternoon duty manager was magnificent in his willingness to accommodate me at such short notice. I am forever in his debt. All the staff were welcoming, efficient and helpful. In addition, besides the marvellous hotel restaurant, there is a fantastic bistro across the street called the Hippodrome Bistro. Amazing food and Murat, the owner is a true gentleman of distinction who welcomed me warmly and provided great service and salient advice about navigating Istanbul. The combination of these two elements made this a highly recommend experience....
