I cannot express how much I loved this place...what started as a 2 night staying ended up with 17 night staying! It really felt like home to us! (It's lengthy but worth reading 😉)
Rooms: rooms are very clean and comfy. Service is excellent. Whatever we want would come to the room immediately. Thanks to the great management.
Location: it's in the heart of everything. Wherever you want to go, it is within walking distance from beach and major historical attractions in Fatih/Sultanahmet like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace Museum, Arasta Çarşısı/Bazaar, Grand bazaar, Mısır Çarşısı, and the Tram Station. Also, you will see endless restaurants and shops on your way to any of the places mentioned above. It's great!
Services: special thanks to Mahmut (the new owner of this cute boutique hotel. Mahmut is very nice, friendly, and helpful.. He is the most dedicated and professional I have ever seen. He will make sure you feel like you are staying in your own home. Whether it is services, food services or places to visit, he was always there to help!
Some quick points based on my long staying (for the record we stayed in this hotel during August and booked 2 rooms for 5 adults).
It is a new management (since 3 months only), therefore, definitely there are still things to improve whether it is remodeling or adding tea kittles to rooms, or whatever you think you would like to see in a hotel. However, the most important amenities are still available.
Hot/cold drinking water in the lobby, tea/coffee are all available for you anytime you want.
Rooms are very clean, sheets, bedding, all are top notch clean. Yes old but very very clean! And I know that management is working on replacing them some time soon. Matresses are very comfy too (at least in our rooms, we stayed in first and third floor rooms).
Bathroom size is small in the top rooms (did not mind that at all, I actually liked it) and spacious in the first floor.. So, i guess every room is different. It seems like top floor ones are remodeled/upgraded.
Also, hot/cold water is available 24/7 and we never experienced any problem in our rooms.
Each room is equipped with AC and a mini refrigerator. One of our room's refrigerator was not working properly, and Mahmut replaced immediately.
Wi-Fi was better downstairs, however as soon as I told Mahmut about Wi-Fi not reaching top floors, a new router was installed in my room (3rd floor) next day! :)
There is a nice terrace in the other hotel across the street with a beautiful view, which is amazing and available for guest use. However, a new terrace was being build during the time of our staying in this hotel, so we're excited to see it when we're back in our next visit :)
Cannot wait to come back to La...
Read morein the 09th month, they informed me that my credit card did not work and we will systematically be canceled reservations. I accepted and thanked we are canceling the reservation without charge. two months later they charged my card because I did not come to their hotel. Not informed me to give them another account or have consequences for my account, they did not want to admit the error and return the money.I have all the mail and I showed them, but that is not enough. They did not respond to anything more. They did not provide all the necessary information but they left me in the belief that the reservation is canceled at no cost. They took advantage of my trust and naivety. There, in Istanbul, I was asked to pay 96 euros in exchange for the cancellation of accounts that have already been submitted for payment. I had no confidence that they would cancel the account . They are not honest with clients. They did not give full information. It is a shame that this place even called the hotel. Every honest and responsible hotel and business owner professionally solve the problem because he is a satisfied customer in the first place. Be very careful because this hotel is too expensive for the service they provide. They do not care about reputation risk. This hotel, which is before, "prčvara", the website used for legal and perfidiously exploitation, using a little naive customers. I could be so much more to write about my experience with Sefa Hotel. If someone interested in details, I will gladly send all the information that I have. In any case, be smarter than...
Read moreI ended up staying at this hotel last minute, because the hotel I booked (Redamancy Hotel, do not stay there), canceled my 6-night booking without warning because I was delayed a day due to a flight change, even though I let them know about this in advance, and they told me they'd hold my room. Anyway, Sefa Hotel seemed fine — no frills, and the bathroom needed renovating — but fine for the price, good location, the receptionist was very kind to me. Then I came back on my last night to find that the staff had, without any warning, packed up my luggage and moved me from my spacious third-floor room into a tiny windowless basement room. I complained about this, and several hours later, at 11pm, when I was getting ready for bed, the owner came to "explain." He first told me it was my fault, that I should have packed up my things myself and been ready to move that morning. I asked why I should have done that when I wasn't checking out until the following day, and he said that he'd told the Redamancy manager to let me know that my original room was booked that last night, so I'd have to change rooms. Why on earth he thought he should tell the manager of a different hotel, who I had no contact with, this information instead of telling me, having the staff that I saw every day tell me, or at least making sure someone checked that I did receive this information, I have no idea. The owner offered no solution to the issue, and in the middle of this conversation, left to help another guest find parking, and, as far as I'm aware,...
