Cave Inn Hotel was extremely unprofessional in regards to staff, cleaning, and safety.
Construction was taking place near the breakfast cafe, with several hazardous objects left open - no barriers at all which should have been in place for proper access to the rooms from the restaurant.
At the entrance to the hotel, there was a van and a massive mound of soil with a 2m ditch, the only way to get up was to walk on the narrow pathway near the parked vehicle.
Sharp rocks were found in every corner and resulted in me tripping. While I understand construction work takes place, you need to be considerate of your guests rather than prioritizing your renovation.
Any “4 Star Hotel” would ensure such safety measures were taken care of.
Staff is unaware of basic needs and unsure of prices. Laundry was introduced to us 60 lira per bag, however upon providing 2 bags, they demanded for 300 lira - claiming they had changed the prices in 2 days but forgot to tell us. After pushing, a gentleman then informed us it was 150 lira. As a “4 Star Hotel”, this level of inconsistency is ridiculous.
Cleaning management is also an absolute nightmare - my lens box & electronic cigarette were taken from the room during cleaning and instead taken to depo. The management explained that anything found in the room which cleaning staff is unsure of being trash or personal items, are taken away. Touching your guests items is unheard of from any hotel. Additionally, a lens box and electronic cigarette are universally not items to be considered “trash”.
Not the place to be if you’re looking for any level of decency. The food was plentiful and was ultimately the only factor that somewhat showed where our money was going.
Drinking water is not complimentary, you will need to pay 10 lira per 500ml bottle. Unheard of at any “hotel” water at the least is complimentary.
This hotel is at best a 2 star hotel. Do not spend your money here. There are plenty of hotels to stay at...
Read moreI have stayed in this hotel in July 2023 for three nights. I have originally booked the king cave suite (suite 105) which was very beautiful however the sewer smell was so unbearable that we have to change rooms in the first night. We could not go to bathroom or have shower as the smell would make us nauseous. There are no ventilation system in these caves with NO AC. the staff were nice enough to move us to a different room for the second night (room 205). The shower in the second room was not working but no smell of sewer which we were happy about. Then they asked us to move out of that room as it was booked for someone else and moved us to another room for a third night. The last room (room 204) that we stayed in (which was not cave) had an awful sewer smell (worst then room 105) that made me and my boy friend so sick that we had to go to the local hospital for shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting. I have spoken about this to the owner of the hotel as well as the manger, who said that they have had issue with the sewer smell and got it checked but not sure why is this happening. When I told them that I have paid for king suite but did not stay in there due to the smell and want a refund, they said NO refund and will only refund us the difference between cave sites and regular room. I was so sick that I did not wanted to argue with them and just wanted to leave that hotel. It has been two weeks since we checked out and they have not returned the money. (I even called my credit card company to make sure that I am not missing the refund. still no refund was made). This was the worst experiences that I ever had staying at hotels. I DO not recommend staying in this hotel specially the caves as the smell will make you and your loved ones sick and you have to make a trip to hospital during...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night in August to have a good cave hotel experience. Overall it's quite a nice hotel. The room was 106 with a large bed, and a small couch living area, with an underground double shower and toilet (it's a bit weird that the toilet isn't separate and you'll hear it upstairs) there is a permanently on fan in the ceiling here to circulate air between the cave and outside. There was a standing fan in the main room and a window. Overall the cave stays warm during the cold night, and cold during the hot day. I didn't notice a sewer smell like was mentioned in another review, but it does smell like cave and earth a bit.
The service staff are nice and helpful. The restaurant is a decent price compared to the restaurants in the center of town and has a better view and ambiance. The breakfast here is very plentiful and tasty with many jams, garnishes, bread, cheese, and ham. You can also sit at the tables on the terrace without ordering and just relax enjoying the view.
I think overall the room is quite nice but it has some negative points. There is poor wifi signal strength in the room, the fan is a bit broken and can't rotate very well, or stay upright, it makes a rickety noise which is difficult when trying to sleep, and the rotate button is broken so its permanently attempting to rotate and making noise. The mini fridge is controlled by the card on the wall that enables the electricity and will not chill while your away and doesn't chill very well in the first place but the hotel staff has chilled drinks in their restaurant. The ceiling is crumbling so you will have rock chips and dust falling on your bed and stuff while there so cover any thing you want to protect, but that is the nature of living in a cave I believe so I do...
