This is an excellent hotel. Let me start by saying that I didn't experience any of the things that Mido mentioned in a review posted right before mine. This hotel is run and staffed excellently. The location is awesome, within 3 minutes' walking to several nice restaurants. I stayed in the lowest level room (the one with the mermaid) and it was perfect for one person. Bed was comfortable, it was extremely clean, nice bathroom, came with a little wardrobe and enough space for all my stuff and then some. The manager made several reservations for me within minutes. He and some other random guy also helped me with parking. I was able to park right in front of the hotel. There is a radiator for heat (turn to the right for less and to the left for more) and an AC wall unit above the bed so you can definitely reach your exact desired temperature. The rooftop is great for photos and they bring it oranges and orange juice in the morning for decoration. (Even if you don't care about getting rooftop photos for yourself, it's still fun to go watch the balloons and perhaps help others with their photos.) I have only two complaints. First is the mosque with its loudspeakers waking everyone up around 6 right there next to the hotel. However, this shouldn't be a big problem because you'll probably want to be up by then anyway to experience the sunrise. Second is that the breakfast is acceptable but not great. I'm not taking off any stars for that because it's probably standard or even above average. As an American I need a little bit of a heartier breakfast. This is not common anywhere I've been in the world. Luckily, right next to the hotel is Sunshine Cafe where you can get Turkish breakfast plate, which is similar to what the hotel has but a little more substantial, plus a drink for 70 lira ($7). (While we're on the subject, I tried three other breakfast places that we supposedly open early; one was not really open yet and the other two weren't even there at all.) All in all, highly...
Read moreOVERALL: A lovely boutique hotel with beautiful cave and rock decor. I picked it because the decor is a mixture of both, unlike some other ones in the area. Service is amazing and the staff is really helpful. They offered to help transport my suitcase up to the bedroom area of my room.
I went during the beginning of the season in late March and the hotel kindly upgraded me for free to a deluxe room, which has two levels, the bathroom below and the sleeping area above. In the room, Two windows open to views of goreme town and the balloons if you get up early enough to see them before sunrise.
They also recently expanded their terrace offerings it seems ao now they actually have multiple, without different pillow set up. Breakfast is served open buffet style from 8-10am, variety is limited but there are some Turkish meze delicacies, menemem and boiled egg daily, sausages, a hot pastry, breads, cheese and ham, and for drinks - juices, tea and coffee, it's fair.
AMENITIES: The bathroom is VERY spacious, but doesn't really come with much actually useful amenities. There are no additional personal care kits whatsoever - so no shower caps, cotton swabs, little things like that. There is a stand shower at one corner, a bath tub at another end and a toilet bowl in the middle with a sink and mirror as well on another area. Door comes with a full body mirror. It's beautifully designed by the layout is a bit odd and I think the hotel can work on adding little details to enhance the bathroom experience because there is totally potential for that. But hot water, drains and flush all work just fine, so it's definitely functional.
LOCATION: The hotel is also conveniently located around 10-12 mins away from the famous Sunrise/Sunset point for balloon viewing (you get to see thw balloons take off there). The fact that it's walkable is amazing! It's located on a little side hill, and Goreme's main street is just a 20...
Read moreWe stayed 4 days 3 nights. Our room was upgraded to Suite for free. It's the best hotel in Cappadocia for many reasons. Near to Otogar. Just walk 4 min. Minimal rocky road surface. Friendly and helpful staff. They are enthusiastic at helping us. Anes is the best. The hotel rooftop bar is a great place to take photos. The indoor seating rooms are picture perfect, too. The view from the top in the morning with the hot air balloons flying in the backdrop was amazing. They could provide fast confirmation for private tour that go to a mixture of places from the red and green tour. You will be visiting places with a private tour guide and a driver. And you are the boss deciding when to go and take how long at each attraction. Check with the reception to find out more. Super worthy if you do not wish to go on both Red and Green tour. They work with 2 trustworthy balloon companies and provided us with a 1st batch time slot at 6.30am( there are 2 batches every morning). Seems to be cheaper than what we overheard from other groups that rode the same ride as us. They have a partnering carpet shop, Sultan Carpet. Worth visiting. Talk to the receptionist to find out more. There's a bit of uphill slope BUT it's already the shortest compared to all the other konaks around. Unless you are super fit, you really need to consider how much of uphill steps lead to your hotel room doorstep (especially if you have...
