This was a spontaneous trip to Turkey; we'd never been there before. We immediately decided to visit one of the most famous places – Cappadocia. We went without looking or booking anything. We researched all the hotels along the way based on reviews. We also chose this hotel based on reviews, and we were right on it. The location is excellent, just the way we like it – just around the corner from the hustle and bustle. A couple of minutes and you're in the center of everything: shops, cafes, and so on. It's a small, cozy hotel with a beautiful rooftop veranda with stunning views – of the floating balloons in the morning and of all of Göreme in the evening. Decent breakfasts, a mini-buffet. Clean rooms with everything you need, including tea, coffee, and more. And of course, the hotel staff was welcoming and always ready to help with any questions. For Russian speakers, a huge plus is the manager, Attila, who speaks Russian perfectly, as well as several other languages. This was a significant factor in our choice. And in the few days we were there, we still couldn't figure out when he was resting. It seemed like you only had to think about it and he was right there, asking, "How can I help?" The main reason for visiting Cappadocia, of course, was the hot air balloon ride. And the hotel kindly helped us with that. They got us a very good discount. So, when you're staying at this hotel, contact them immediately. Don't go to different agencies that offer flights. You can also ask them about restaurants and cafes. We visited an excellent cafe several times on their recommendation. A line for dinner is a clear indication of its popularity. To sum it up, almost all the hotels in Goreme are the same; the difference is in the people working there. This hotel is excellent. We hope to...
Read moreMy stay at Kaya Konak was awesome. I was greeting with an invitation to sit and have a cup of tea. The hospitality was very welcoming. I was shown two rooms to see what ch I preferred. I chose the smaller room (mind you it was not smaller just did not have a jacuzzi) but very spacious. The room was cozy and warm. The shower had hot water. I did not check out the TV, stangly enough, so cannot comment on that. When I entered the cave room it was covered with plastic to keep it clean from the dust, which was very impressive. Bed was super comfy and there were extra pillows in the wardrobe. There was a cute little dressing stable with a mirror which was handy with a stool attached.
I had a little coffee table and two separate ngle arm chairs which was nice.
Being a Cave room, literally the room is carved inside a Cave so you will find concrete dust now and then. This really felt authentic.
Ouside the room there was a table and chairs for outside siting dedicated to the room which was nice.
The breakfast was amazing. There was a lady who would make eggs of your choice. When I spoke to the host, Yilmaz, he would ask me if there was anything else I wanted to eat that they would be happy to accomodate. Which was really nice. However everything that was provided for breakfast was sufficient. Crispy cheese rolls, delicious white cheese, teas and coffee, fresh bread and the Jam, definitely home made. I truly. Loved the breakfast.
Yilnaz also recommended a Bath House to visit and showed me the way.
Finally Kaya Kovac is so centrally situated that you can never get lost and easy to find.
Kaya Kovac staff are super friendly and...
