|We've just finished 3 nights at the Old Town Stone House, & I can't recommend it highly enough.|Let's start with the basics. It's a small boutique hotel, just 10 rooms over 4 floors, the top floor being the breakfast room. Breakfast was delicious & included in what was a very reasonable rate. |The room was adequate size, comfy bed, nice shower. Portable a/c but it worked just fine. The room was spotlessly clean & serviced every day. It's beautifully decorated in a stone style. |The location is hard to beat, just a few minutes walk to lots of restaurants.|All this makes Old Town Stone House a great choice, but it has one magic ingredient that puts it into a class of its own. The owner Mehmet.|His communication was prompt & helpful before arrival, he helped us with airport transfers & a baloon trip. But when we arrived, he really saved us! Our first baloon trip was cancelled due to wind speed so he rebooked us next day; keep in mind that for every day the baloons don't fly, there are lots of people looking for a flight the next day. & there really isn't much spare capacity. Second day our flight cancelled again! Mehmet managed to get us on a flight on the following morning before our departure. It was a wonderful experience & shouldn't be missed. In between he helped us book the Green Tour, & his team even helped me fix my suitcase which was broken in transit. Service above & beyond. Mehmet is always smiling & helped every guest with whatever they needed. |Cappadocia is an amazing place to visit & I'd recommend this hotel without question.|Thank you Mehmet...
Read moreExcellent stay in a beautiful wee hotel in a fantastic location with wonderful staff - thank you Ozlem, Leyla & Abdullah! If you're in Cappadocia for the balloons, this hotel is perfectly located for everything. It's bang in the centre of all the restaurants and life, has a terrace where you can watch the balloons in the morning and our room had a big jacuzzi tub and shower, too. But the hotel staff really made our stay extra special. Ozlem was super welcoming and smiley and helped us out with some Turkish pronunciations which we really appreciated! The Turkish breakfast buffet had a little bit of everything and was very tasty but the main star of the show were the fresh cheese omelettes that Leyla made us each morning - they were genuinely perfect! Abdullah too was very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble!
I didn't meet the owner of the hotel although I spoke to him on the phone on arrival. At first I was a little apprehensive as he seemed very keen that we book a tour through the hotel, but in the end we just sorted ourselves out (booking tours mostly through viator) and that was fine. We booked our initial airport to hotel transfers through the hotel for €15 per person and it went all very smoothly. Our return transfers (Viator again) were half the price but equally, we have no complaints as everything was super smooth.
Again, a massive thank you to Ozlem, Leyla and Abdullah for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable; we highly...
Read moreI must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The owner, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, always ready to assist with any request.
The photos online don't do justice to this charming place. In person, it's even more enchanting. The rooms are equipped with all the essential amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail and the hospitality of the staff.
Breakfast was a delightful experience. The spread offers a wide variety of options, all beautifully presented, and you can enjoy it while overlooking the picturesque city. The terrace is a fantastic spot to start your day, watching the hot air balloons float by in the morning.
The location couldn't be better. It's within easy walking distance of the bus station, restaurants, and shops. Don't miss the Top Deck Restaurant nearby, but do make a reservation in advance.
In conclusion, if you're considering a stay in Göreme, do not hesitate to book a room at the Old Town Stone Hotel. Mehmet, Abdullah, and the entire staff will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. This place truly captures the essence of Cappadocia and ensures a...
