I am giving it a three star rating because of the staff. I witnessed one of the staff members (The front desk lady), help out a distress young single female with three small children by waving a hotel fee ($100 Incidental) due to the woman’s credit card kept declining. It was pleasing to see she did that for her. If it wasn’t for her, I would rate it lower to a 1 or 2 stars. POSITIVES: ** The staff were friendly and professional. I witnessed the front desk lady greeting men by saying “Good morning Sir!” ** The establishment is close to everything in downtown Anchorage (Within walking distance). ** They will shuttle you to and from the airport. ** IF REQUESTED— they will promptly give you clean linen, towels, and condiments (Coffee etc). ** The room was okay. The bed was comfortable. A place to lay your head. NEGATIVES: ** The owner of this establishment resides in Reno Nevada, so he or she doesn’t have a clue of what is going on. ** $300.00 a night. Way too expensive for this establishment. Hopefully, the price has dropped when you are reading this review. ** The location is not in the best of neighborhood (A lot of homelessness walking through the parking lot (Front and back)— needs security ** Room 210 - You will hear the Alaska Train whistle in the wee hours in the morning and not just one time but ALL THE TIME. ** I had to perform my own maintenance on the ac. The AC always gave us an error code when we attempted to turn it on. I tried calling the front desk but no one answered, so I YouTube the error code and found out on how to fix it. ** The entrance door would not lock from the inside. The striker plate was misaligned with the locking mechanism, so I had the maintenance man remove the striking plate so that I can lock the door from the inside. At first he didn’t want to remove the striker plate and insisted when shutting the door I had to push the door in really hard or to lift it up BUT when that didn’t work either he removed the striker plate. ** The key card was painful to use. Sometimes my key card had to be reprogrammed and when they did work, I literally had to use some force to get the locking mechanism to open the door. ** The bathtub was plugged. It didn’t drain like it should. I also seen mold on the caulking. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: ** You have to request to have your room cleaned and to provide you with clean towels. You can leave your used one outside your door but you have to tell the front desk you need new towels. OVERALL: If it wasn’t for the kindness I witnessed I was disappointed with my stay. Most likely we will stay at another establishment if we should ever return. QUESTION TO THE OWNER: Is this place a hotel or a motel?

I wish I would have paid more attention to reviews before selecting this motel. It is quite old and run down and not in the greatest area of downtown. The front door has a taped up sign stating it is locked 24/7. The staff have to buzz you in. The staff were very pleasant but the facility was quite dirty all around. I asked to be moved to a new room because the original room I was put in appeared to have been used. Bed pillows were strewn, there was an imprint on the bed as though someone had sat or laid down. Toilet had debris and a hand towel was obviously used. Second room was a little better but still very run down and awful for the price point. Windows are sealed shut and the portable AC in a corner was noisy, dusty and very old. Strong cigarette odor covered by Febreeze or something in this "non-smoking" hotel; whatever it was triggered my asthma. Exposed pipes in room. Only 1 outlet to plug a phone charger into. There was an outlet in a lamp but it didn't work. TV remote didn't work, but neither did the TV. Tub had hairs in it and was badly stained. No tissues in the tissue box. I asked for some but never got any. The chair in the room was stained and shabby. Overall very run down and felt unclean. I was awakened around 2 AM by someone jiggling my door handle. After that I barely slept. I had reserved 2 nights but checked out first thing in the AM. I was lucky enough to find a room at the nearby Hilton for not much more than what i was charged here. When I checked out, staff didn't seem the least bit surprised. I later learned there is a nearby halfway house and soup-kitchen. Many unhoused people haging around. I really wonder if a Ramada representative has seen this motel and surprised it is endorsed by them. Be aware they require a $100 deposit upon check in which is not disclosed up front. I absolutely do not recommend this motel, especially if traveling with children.

There were bed bug traps under both beds which was cause for some concern. Their Air Conditioning is a joke! The AC unit is a window shaker put on a wooden shelf inside of the room with no outside exhaust/no drain. A window AC is mean to exhaust the heat outside, instead its exhausting inside the room rendering the AC useless in cooling the room down. Behind it was a round 6 inch hole in the wall to the outside. At night there is light completely around the door jam. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The TV sits below the bed height, so no watching TV in bed. Trip hazards in the hallways with all the carpet coming up, a toe catcher for sure. Another safety concern is that I couldn't open the window to put the box fan in to get some air movement with a useless AC. There was no screen and my husband had to take the window out of the track to even open the window. If an elderly person was in there during an emergency, they were not going to get that window open. Did I mention we were on the top floor! Topping all this off, the vagrants outside the window in the park smoking meth and whatever else. You and your vehicles are NOT safe. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Ramada Inn Corporation should have their CEO stay at this disgusting facility, oh wait, he/she wouldn't be caught dead in it. Ramada should be ashamed to have this hotel under their ownership.

Booked the king suite with hot tub for my husband's birthday, planned to get away for the night and relax, left exhausted and regretted ever giving them a try. Got there to check in, they gave me keys, go up to the room (twice since door was busted and I couldn't get it to open without help) and soon as I walk in I don't see the hot tub. Go back down and they switch rooms. They tell me they're going to go make sure it's clean, I wait 5 mins the guy comes back and says it's good to go but towels won't be done for 45 mins. I go up to start unpacking and I start looking around the room I find pubes and hair in the hot tub so I ask the cleaning lady to come clean it again. She says she spent 45 mins on this room...no way. Know how I know? See the photos. Room stunk like cigarette smoke, burns in the curtains and cigarette butts thrown on the roof right in front of the window so people were obviously smoking in there. Pubes in the hot tub and the shower, hair all over the bathroom floor, ashes around the hot tub, crumbs on the floor, a FINGERNAIL on the floor, piss and pubes on the toilet and on the floor around toilet, ice bucket had melted ice and a random plastic cup, food under the turn tray in the microwave which made me gag from the smell when I opened it. I had to make this night work, we had a sitter, had already paid for everything and couldn't get a room elsewhere so I legit cleaned this room myself and you can see what just lysol wipes got that these professional cleaners didn't. Called for manager to come up, waited 90 mins then decided we wanted to go to dinner since they obviously weren't coming up. We got back from dinner and someone had been in our room, overhead light was on that we didn't even know where the light switch was to turn it off so how could we have left it on? (It was 100% dark when we left that room.) No manager ever comes. Night goes on and we can hear everything from the room next to us...there's no wall just cheap doors that are paper thin. Main door to our room wouldn't deadbolt so went to bed with my gun on the table. Wake up at 4am to the guy in the room next to us beating the crap out of a woman. I go to call down to the front desk but the room phone wouldn't work (it had worked fine earlier but now, in a legit emergency, nothing). I call on my cell trying to keep my voice down so dude doesn't try to come rage on me for calling. They bickered and were loud enough that I just couldn't sleep the entire night. The one time I did start to doze off, gunshots from the homeless camp behind the hotel. Then the room upstairs starts running their jetted tub from 4:45-6:30am! I don't know why their tub was 2-3 times as loud as ours or why they're allowed to run them in the wee hours of the morning when the jetts sound like a damn jett engine! I can't make this stuff up! There were random shady people walking around the building and thru the halls at all hours, 2nd and 3rd floors reeked like weed. We go to check out (had paid for late check out but didnt use it) and as if it couldn't get worse, my husbands Camaro had been hit while in the parking lot, no note, no nothing. The lady at the front was super nice and looked thru security footage, unfortunately all inside cameras were not functioning because "water dropped on the router" but we got some external video to provide to the cops. Oh, ya, we found out the cops had already been there earlier that night arresting someone. Needless to say this place is utterly disgusting, unsanitary, unorganized, unprofessional and really is a dump disguised as a nice, clean, cozy downtown hotel. It's so outdated from the photos online, total bait and switch and definitely wouldn't feel safe there alone and would never bring my children there. The only positive thing I can say was the water pressure was surprisingly good and hot water was plenty...so overall, waste of almost $200 and lesson learned, we will not be returning to the Ramada and I highly encourage anyone who does stay here to be cautious and on alert for your own safety!||Rooms: 1/5 | Service: 2/5 | Location: 1/5||||Rooms||Outdated, dirty, can hear every word of conversation next door, smell of cigarettes and weed||||Safety||Guns going off, cops arresting people, man beats woman front desk is called and does nothing, unauthorized entry into your room when you leave the property (for us to dinner), $3500 damage to our vehicle in parking lot and over half cameras broken so no...

When I first arrived I was pleased to see that the doors to the rooms faced outside because I would have easy access to my room and a quick exit if I needed it.  I spoke with the woman at the front desk to check in and sign a document about not smoking in the room and I was given my keycard in a small booklet listing information about the hotel - no receipt or any similar paperwork. I was informed that for the use of the keycard I had to use the room door located inside of the building and then I would later be able to use both the inside door and the door connecting to the parking lot. I quickly made my way through a cramped, narrow, eerie hallway likened to Stephen King's The Shining and found my room. Arriving at my room did not offer me any sense of comfort or peace of mind. The air was freezing cold, colder than outside, and the atmosphere was thick, tense and heavy. The door connecting to the outside had a large black foot stool stacked inside a large orange-ish chair pushed against it. As soon as I saw this my immediate thought was that this was built as a barricade. Upon closer inspection, I saw that this door had NO doorknob, the chain lock was broken in places and sat screwed crookedly into the wall, and there were screws used around the perimeter of the door to hold it closed. It felt like nothing good happened in that room and I knew that I wouldn't be able to use this door in the event of an emergency. The bathroom door would not close at all as if it were incorrectly sized (or haphazardly attached and then neglected).  I assembled my trusty bottle of rubbing alcohol and a spray nozzle top feeling with surety that I'd need it. Despite the tense, heavy, atmosphere and feeling of being watched and energetically crushed like an insect I checked over the room, trying to determine which bed seemed least likely to leave me with bug bites and a long-term haunting. Finally deciding on a bed and making a mental note to ask for a blanket later, I pulled back the pillows and sheets from the bed, seeing multiple strands of hair of different colors, lengths, and textures as well as stains of different sizes and proceeded to spray it with alcohol to hopefully kill all traces of bugs and their offspring.  After doing what I could to make my stay in this room more bearable I found myself hungry and hoping to relax. I looked over the pamphlet that my keycard came in for food options - a 24-hour mini mart and a restaurant whose hours showed that they'd still be open.    The mini mart was essentially an old storage closet housing a mostly empty refrigerator with a few bottles of water in the bottom corner. There are also signs hung up in this "mini mart" stating that purchases (as if you have options) must be paid for at the front desk before returning to the rooms - $2.50 per bottle of water. How audacious and pretentious must you be to offer such lousing accommodations along with blatant false advertising and then treat your obviously unappreciated customers like theives who are trying to steal water from your newly-designed coat closet?  I was also informed that "they are working on the restaurant but right now there is no...

For over a month I’ve been trying to get my security deposit back from this establishment and I’ve been getting bounced around. I told them I had to cancel my original card that I used to put the deposit down and if there was an alternative to getting my deposit back. Since February they have been trying to put the money back on the same card I told them was cancelled. They haven’t offered me a solution (ie… sending me a check or using asking for another card that they can refund my money back to) instead they keep trying to put money on a cancelled card which makes absolutely no sense. I have left my number several times and have been told the manager would call me back and he/she to this day has not. I have currently been on the phone for over 10 min to wait for the manager to come and get the phone and all I hear them doing is laughing in the background and not getting a manager. I am absolutely disgusted by the unprofessional treatment they are giving me. The hotel itself is disgusting. Rooms are outdated, stains on sheets and lack of care not to mention the homeless tents as you look out your window which raises the question of safety. The gentleman that checked me in literally swiped my card gave me a key and didn’t even care to tell me where the elevator is and how to get around. He just sat there and stared at me as if he just wanted me to go. I stayed there for a business trip and I stay at hotels about 90% of the file due to my profession and I have NeVER experienced this level of unprofessional behavior. All I want is my deposit back and I will NEVER do business with this location again. I would like to hear back from a manager with my deposit back at some point this year but they lack to care. Please stay away from this location as they do not care about the satisfaction of their customers and take everything as a joke.

3/26/2025- I was told to call and speak with”pops” the regional manager. I called today and the gentleman was very rude and stated “I’m tired of telling you what to do” he immediately hung up on me. Before he hung up I handed my phone to my fiancé to speak to him and he hung up not wanting to deal with the situation. I’m extremely flabbergasted and angry at the treatment I’m receiving for my simple refund. As a business there should be alternatives but not wanting to deal with the situation is extremely unprofessional. I have since contacted the better business bureau and am filing a civil complaint against this atrocity of an establishment. Managers names are David, Brendan and the big boss is “pops” but no one knows his real name which is strange as employees and management.

4/1/2025- I still haven’t received a call back from franchise owner or manager. Still waiting…

4/10/25- another update. Still no reimbursement or communication from management in regards to this. I will continue to update all review channels until I am...
