Traveled to Dallas, and the body was craving steak, however, had a bad experience with the place i went to initially and Googled restaurants"near me." Mariano's Hacienda came up, looked at the ratings, etc, and decided to give it a try. This was Tex-Mex food. First of all, the structure outside is clean and well maintained, and there's a sign claiming the first ever frozen margarita anywhere. Upon entering, it was quite busy, dinner time, and no reservations were required. I put my name on the waiting list and went directly to the bar while i waited. The bar area was small, with about 7-8 stools. Decided to have dinner there rather than in the dining room. Both bartenders were pleasant, professional, and definitely on the go. Especially because they had to tender to their area as well as dining room orders. Was served chips and salsa both mild and also with a little kick to it. I tried the house margarita on the rocks, generally no salt, and they recommended to order it w "tajin" some sort of red all purpose seasoning. I didn't like it. It's used more for cooking. Ordered a regular margarita.... Anyway, to start, i ordered the steak/ chicken nachos combo. The chips are large and filled with yellow/white cheese, tender steak/chicken strips accompanied with guac, carrots, pickled jalapeños, and sour cream. Delicious, well cooked, with the right seasoning. Good enough for 2 people. For the main course, i went with the fish tacos. Succulent, soft, no bones, accompanied with rice, cabbage/ lettuce, sautéed peppers, and a large sautéed jalapeño. The fish meat can't say it enough, AWESOME!!. I was already full, especially since i kept eating the chips/salsa from the start. A bit addictive. They were crunchy, and the salsa made a nice marriage to them. I was impressed with the food that i returned the next day to try the brisket tacos with the gravy on the side. Ridiculously tasty, and the brisket was shredded, tender, and the gravy was not thick at all enough to dunk the taco in or serve it on top inside the taco It came with rice, corn tortillas, a heap of beans in a small shell, and avocado. Didn't get to try any appetizer. One thing is certain in the 2 days i visited, the food is undeniably fresh, and tasty keeps anyone coming back for more. The service at the bar was slow, and i don't blame the bartenders because they were on the go. This caused my experience to be a 4.4. They were courteous and professional. I don't know how the dining room service is, but it's always busy. Fresh food, come and have some!

If you are anything other than Latino I strongly do not recommend patronizing this establishment. My husband and I tried this place out for dinner. We decided to sit at the bar as in theory it was faster than waiting for a table. The bar was filthy and sat there being ignored of service as Mexican customers walked up to the bar between us as we were seated, ordered and received drinks and walked away. A Mexican couple sat down at the bar a few chairs down from us and immediately received menus and were asked for their drink orders. I was appalled and should have left immediately but I was hungry and although I knew in that moment I wouldn’t be back, I decided to complete this visit as my first and last. That Caucasian young lady sitting next to me looks over and says to me “I have a feeling they don’t like serving everyone at this place, it took me over an hour to receive my food”. She flashed her phone at me as to show the current time was 8:55pm, then she stated I ordered at 7:00 before flagging down the waitress and asking for a to go container. I agreed and we began to converse about the poor treatment and customer service that we had both received. After that conversation and having some time to marinate on the rude seemingly racist treatment my husband and I were receiving, we decided to abort our visit without receiving our food. We flagged the waitress down after being seated for well over 15 minutes and asked for 2 house frozen margaritas and 2 shots. Her demeanor was rude and nasty. She acted as if we were bothering her. When she bought our drinks out she did not ask if we wanted a menu nor did she speak. She dropped the drinks and immediately walked to the other side of the bar so we sat there, finished our drinks as we waited for her to return only she never did. My husband flagged her down , politely asked for another round and a menu as if you should have to ask for a menu. Again, she brought the menus and proceeded to leave so we finished our second round of drinks and flagged her down to make our food order. The service was like pulling teeth although customers of latino ethnicity appeared to not be experiencing the same treatment. Concerned with the service we were receiving and after waiting well over an hour for our food and not being checked on even once voluntarily, we flagged down the waitress and asked to be cashed out. Here’s the kicker. We received a tab of $100 for our order of 4 house frozen margarita (served frozen out of the margarita machine in a short slim glass) and 4 shots of 1800 we had 2 house margaritas and 2 shots each. I will never return. $100 tab for the worst service I’ve ever received at a Mexican restaurant and I patronize them often as I love Mexican food. Avoid this place at all cost unless you are Latino.

I used to love this place but won’t ever be returning. My family has enjoyed this restaurant for years. I called Wednesday and spoke with the receptionist and told her I want to make a reservation for 14 people. She said they don’t make reservations and I asked how does it work she said yall just come and we will seat yall. There would be a wait if they’re a lot of people and I said that’s fine. Fast forward to today (Saturday) it’s my actual birthday today and I invited my family, the staff had a rude attitude and could not accommodate 14 people and we had to sit on separate tables, which was fine but they where trying to force us to sit very tight. My mom finally got them to add just one more small table which worked out perfect where two more people could sit. Mind you I’ve been to a company dinner and eaten here before with my company never had an issue. Not only that the restaurant was empty where plenty of tables could have easily been put together. I regret not taking photos of how empty it was, but it was 4 not many people where there yet. You can tell the waiter did not want to wait on us, took about 45 minutes before she let us put our order in, half the time she would disappear so my family had to keep getting up to order the drinks at the bar. We where waited by an Alexandra. My brother had gone to the bathroom which was on the other side of the restaurant and on his way back he could hear the staff talking about us. We did not feel welcomed at all. When I called Wednesday I should have been told 14 people could not be accommodated at this restaurant. Simple right? Guess not. I asked if they possibly had a candle so my family could sing me happy birthday, again she took off for 15 minutes and came back to say no candles, and they didn’t give anything for birthdays. Which I would have been fine with purchasing a dessert but at this point we where ready to go, if you really want to enjoy your birthday please stay away from this place. I promise you that you will regret it, I was actually embarrassed that I chose this place for my special day.

My brother, dad and I were in town for a weekend (mainly to watch the Dallas Cowboys on sunday as my dad is a diehard fan). We hopped on Google reviews and Yelp and saw that this place was HIGHLY rated with 500+ aggregate reviews on both platforms so we had to check it out. We hadn't made reservations beforehand so we were slightly concerned that it would be a long wait (arrived around 8pm-ish). Luckily, this particular location is pretty big and the wait wasn't too long at all. Maybe like 10-15 min? We were seated in a booth and looking over the menu, the mexican food looked super authentic. We ordered carne asada, flautas, a grilled steak fajita salad and brisket tacos. Literally 2 minutes after ordering, fresh warm nachos arrived at the table w/ 2 salsas (a red and brown one). I love that we were able to snack on these before the food arrived. The carne asada was probably my fave. The proteins at this resto are cooked really well. We were never asked how we wanted our steak cooked but it just arrived medium rare on the plate (which is perfect). Super juicy, tender and seasoned aggressively. The refried beans were so smooth and the portion sizes were nice and big. We also ordered some of their famous frozen margaritas. Quite strong but very tasty! At the end of our meal we asked our server Ashley to pack our leftover nachos and salsas on the table in a to-go bag for us and she instead came back with a to-go bag full of FRESH, WARM NACHOS with some new salsas for us to take home. This was incredible customer service. The to-go bag also had a clip on it to keep the nachos crispy (I was still snacking on them in the hotel room 2 days later)! All of us were eyeing the hot apple pie w/ ice cream that arrived at a neighbouring table but alas, we were way too full to stomach any dessert lol. Authentic food, amazing service and nice, strong drinks. Definitely a place that lives up to every bit of the hype! Will definitely be back in the future!

This is by far the best Mexican food in the metroplex. We stumbled on it accidentally through a Google search of nearby Mexican food. Fun fact: They created the margarita as it's known everywhere today in it's slushier form. I would have to say that only these guys know how to do it truly right though. The margaritas here are like nothing else anywhere else. They're amazing. They will spoil you and you won't want margaritas anywhere else ever again. While you wait for a table you can read all about the margarita machine invention and see their various plaques commemorating it. Their first machine is now in the Smithsonian museum. Aside from the drinks though, the food is outstanding as well. The fire roasted salsa is absolutely wonderful and served warm which I love. It's hard to restrain yourself on the pre-meal chips. I always order fajitas at Mexican restaurants as my gauge to decide if I like their food. Fajitas give you the opportunity to sample their fresh homemade tortillas, the quality of their meat and seasoning on it, their beans and their guacamole. Mariano's does all of these with attention to quality. Nothing is overpowering anything else. It all blends together into one perfectly delicious meal with tender meat and soft fluffy tortillas. I'm feeling just thinking about it. This is a restaurant to take your family to and have big get togethers as well as small intimate celebrations. The service is friendly and fast without being intrusive. The facility is clean and comfortable. Parking is easy to find. The location of the restaurant is kind of random and hidden which I'm okay with. Maybe we can keep it a secret for a little longer lol. We will be back regularly.

Oh boy! This was a special place! Whether you're looking for a date night atmosphere or a family one, this place has both! Besides the outter appearance already setting up the ambiance of this whole experience, upon entrance, you are greeted right away by the hosts. I would look left and right at this point if I were you, and choose which vibe best suits your night out. You can't really go wrong either way! If you're looking for one of the best margaritas you've ever had, you have to get The Mariano! You won't regret it! (I get mine with Tajin.) They roll out some chips and salsa for you after you're seated, and I recommend getting chips and queso here, because why not! They usually bring some thicker chips for the queso that I have slightly different taste, so you can choose from the two types of chip for your specific dipping needs. Our waiter's name was Randy, and he was Fan-freakin-tastic! I mean, on all fronts of customer service, this guy was 5 stars! He gave us his recommendation, which was the Spicy Chicken Verde (so goooooood!), and we picked the fish tacos too! The aoli they run across the tacos just sets up this light meal perfectly. One warning, the margaritas I mentioned earlier are pretty strong, so enjoy safely!
