Apache XLR — Restaurant in Atlanta

Went for brunch and left hungry and sick. Had to get food after. They were unprepared for our reservation, the food was not good, larva and fly cluster/swarm and all we were offered was excuses.

They had weeks in advance to prepare for a large party. To say they were not prepared was an understatement. All of our party members were there and we were left waiting for 15-20 minutes until someone just so happened to ask if we were ready. We were only missing 3 or so members who were no more than 5 minutes or so late so we should have already been seated a while ago. When we got to our designated area they didn’t even have the tables ready. They asked us if it was enough seats for 26 people but shouldn’t they know the answer to that question? Very understaffed, only 1 person was taking orders while the other one was walking around making jokes. No real glasses for water just half sized plastic clear party cups, the water smelled like tap and heavy with chlorine. They only had 8 pieces of chicken left and no salmon croquettes. It took about an hour and a half to 2 hours for us to get food. The chicken tasted and smelled like Chinese food chicken, very gamey. The fried part was falling off the chicken and tasted like old oil. The regular pan fried salmon tasted like tap water, wet inside and the taste of old oil. The blue grits taste like nothing and were soggy despite having what looked to be a queso sauce on top. The fried bread pudding French toast tasted like old oils and was too wet inside. Most of us felt sick right after eating, I only picked at my food and had to stop as I started having vertigo and felt queasy as the food tasted off. I took my food to go and as we were leaving someone spotted white and black bugs in a cluster in the dining area a few feet away from us. Their excuse was sometimes the door gets left open and bugs come in… so this is a regular occurrence for a Larva/fly cluster to appear? I left my food in the to go box with them, paid my portion of the tab and let them know if we still had to pay for this nightmare it will also cost them as well. 10% off the whole order after not eating, feeling sick immediately and then finding a larva and black fly colony in the dining area which they already knew about? Terrible food, terrible experience, terrible excuses and terrible clientele management. They didn’t seem to care

NEVER coming back if I come...

I love the atmosphere and enjoy the vibe each time I come to Apache. And I absolutely love the talent that's showcased. I have never had any complaints and was always satisfied...until last night. After experiencing an enjoyable night, the server that waited on my table was extremely unattentive and gave the worst customer service ever. I respect and understand the fact that she had multiple orders from a variety of patrons, but i shouldn't have to remind my server to provide multiple items that was initially requested upon my order nor should i have to wait a prolonged period of time for service. After the show came to a close, i was still looking for my server to provide the check so that we could pay for our food. Once she came with the check, I advised her that she added additional items on the check that i never received (which was an additional ranch that i never received and a glass of water that i finally received 2 hours later in the form of a room temperature bottled water). She stated that she would correct it (in an annoyed tone). Again, i had to wait well after the show was over for her to come back with the adjusted check. At this time, I left the money on the table of roughly what I should've been billed for (and without a Tip due to the poor service)and proceeded to leave. Once I was out of the door, my server followed me outside to advise me and my party that we didnt pay. We stated to her that the money was left on the table and did she bother to look before following us outside. She asked 'Are you sure that you left the money?' We then walked back inside to show her that the money was clearly sitting on the table. I then walked back outside clearly upset and embarrassed that i was practically accused of stealing. I had to walk away to avoid causing a scene. The server then tells my friend that an additional $6 was owed. To avoid any causing a scene or escalating matters, he paid the additional $6 without verifying the amount of the total bill. I have never been humiliated and disrespected in any establishment as I have last night. As I've stated before, I've always enjoyed myself each time that I've come to Apache and had a wonderful experience. After last night, a nasty taste has been left in my mouth due to the situation...

3 stars because there was an element of deceit from the very beginning of our experience at Apache. However our server was very nice and the artists were very creative.

This was our first day in Atlanta. Decided to go here for dinner with our 14 yr old son because the online reviews were pretty good. The online description mentioned food, drinks and live music - sounded like an ideal place to dine.

When we arrived at 6:30pm we were asked if we were there for the live event - body art, poetry, and music. Stated it started at 7pm for $20/person or we could sit in the front for dinner only. We opted for the show since it was scheduled to start soon. We paid the $60. * There was no mention that the show was for age 21+ * This is deceitful.

This was the beginning of an awkward evening. The show didn't start at 7pm. The artist 🎨 were just starting to paint. The staff was also having a meeting so we had to wait to order drinks and food.

The drinks were overpriced to be made from a premixed margarita blend. Again deceitful.

The only vegetarian option was egg rolls. They didn't have the mushroom or zucchini appetizers available. Again they just opened at 6:30pm.

We stayed for about an hour to give the show a fair chance. The opening poet was pretty good. After that it became apparent that this show should be for age 21+ and we were uncomfortable having our son there. Too many exposed breast and butts without paint on them.

We decided to take our son back to the hotel. Received our check that already included gratuity but then asks for an additional gratuity when paying with card. This is deceitful.

Because we already paid the $60 cover charge my husband and I came back later to see the rest of the show. The body art was impressive. The musicians were very good as well.

It would have been better to have stated from the beginning that the live event was from 8pm til close for age 21+. It felt like they were trying to get...
