E 6th is a party street, if you don’t like noise, litter, homeless, drunk, then don’t book around there, or just have earplugs handy. Loft 508 was a spacious refurbished unit, a bit rough/rustic keeping some of the older fixtures while still being functional. It faced Brazos St, parking was $20/night at a parking lot right next to the building, real close walk. Check in was seamless, instructions were clear and timely. The place had all as advertised just be clear that there is only 1 bathroom (this is a 2 bedroom unit with a sofa bed in the living room, only space with a TV). The kitchen had basic equipment enough for a 4 guests stay. They provided paper towels, dish-soap and plenty of toilet paper and toiletries. Fridge was big, clean, and microwave, dishwasher, and stove were current, all functional and handy. Everything was clean, bathroom and linens were impecable. The mattresses were good, just a bit too soft for us. The balcony in a bedroom was cool to have. It is indeed loud, it was a Friday night just right before the Thanksgiving holiday but it’s probably a default loudness given this is one of the streets with most nightlife in Austin. The A/C and heater worked perfectly, and the water pressure in the shower was great. Improvements: I would update carpets and watch out towels cleaning, we noticed a big yellow stain on one. Provide more light in bedroom, send checkout instructions earlier as we got them way after we were gone. Diligent and courteous staff, cheers!

We had booked this hotel, I had parked in the parking garage about 2000, and then walked over to the entrance near Gold's Gym. Upon entering the room and inspecting it, a cockroach was found in the tub. Because the process of checking in is contactless, having someone to assist with the issue was nearly impossible. I texted the number I was getting the check-in information from and told them of the issue. They said someone wouldn't be on site until 2300, and I informed them we would appreciate a refund and would not be staying in the hotel. This morning, they texted me asking if the cockroach was still there and asked if we wanted it removed. I understand it's Texas, and these little buggers can find their way into anything. But it's still gross.

This company has poor business practices. They had a property listed on Airbnb which I booked because it was near the COTA F1 race track shuttle. They confirmed 5 months ahead of the trip and I even went through the pre-arrival process. They said we were good to go. They then canceled three weeks later without explanation. They clearly realized that they could make more money due to the race because they now have it listed on their site for 4x the price. It went from $1,567 for four nights to $6,619! What a joke. Avoid this group!!

Before I even get into the myriad of issues that I have with this property, I just want to say that if I was able to, they would’ve got 0/5 stars but because I had to leave them at least one star. We’ll just say that’s for the location. I rented a unit to celebrate my best friend‘s bachelorette party in mid July. Upon entering the unit, we noticed that it had not been properly cleaned. All of the bedding had food crumbs and stains on them for both beds and the sofa bed. There was food particles all over the microwave, stovetop, and oven. The floors were unswept and mopped, and there were several pieces of trash littered throughout the unit, including soda cans, six pack beer containers, and various used tissues and paper towels. In addition we rented the unit for a total of six people however we only had two sets of washcloths and body towels, we requested another set of body towels. It took four hours for them to arrive. We requested new sheets and they never arrived. After using the concierge text service to let them know about my issues they told me to let them know when we will be leaving so that they can properly clean the unit. It ended up raining that Friday so we did not leave the unit however management said that they stopped by and knocked on the door, but no one answered, but they can hear us inside laughing and having a conversation, so they figured we could not hear them (when I spoke to management later, they told me that this was them rectifying my issues). I would think if you heard us inside the unit you would knock louder or call us but 2 swift knocks is their “policy”. We ended up having to clean the unit ourselves and go purchase sheets and blankets for us to sleep on for both nights. Upon checkout, we seen another staff member and told them about our issues. They recommended that I call back on Monday when the manager was available to see if it could be rectified or possibly request a partial refund. Monday came along, I contacted the manager and she told me that basically I was out of luck because they did try to rectify the situation by coming to clean the unit. My argument was that the unit should’ve already been clean prior to our arrival. The conversation was condescending, short and snappy, and she seemed to not to care about the issues that I was presenting to her. As a flight attendant, who has stayed in many hotels, I’ve never been present when the cleaning staff has came to clean unit so I thought this was odd. After going back-and-forth with the manager, she told me that she would have to call someone else to figure out if I would be able to be issued a partial refund. I have literally called back nine times on various dates for 2 and a half weeks since our check out and I’ve been met with all types of excuses like the managers unavailable or she won’t be in until tomorrow, or she isn’t taking calls at this time etc. I was also told I would receive a call back but that never happened after weeks. At that point I feel like I was being avoided when communication could have remedied this whole situation. After email their corporate offices and speaking with someone from the original booking site, I reached out again, I was finally told they would only offer me a 10% refund for our stay. I feel like our time at this Placemakr property would have been enjoyable due to the great location and what was advertised as an amazing unit however the shortcomings from your staff when it comes to cleaning, addressing guest issues, and their lack of accountability could lead to this property’s detriment. Please consider other rentals in the area before settling with with their poor business practices.

Side note: If staying at this property, please be aware that the homeless population around the building and its entrance is vast. It wasn’t an issue for us but be cautious of some of the interactions you may...

If you actually want to stay at a HOTEL, this is not the place to book. The only good thing about this place is the size of the unit. I booked the two bedroom loft and it was very spacious with floor to ceiling windows but everything else is quite underwhelming for the amount of money your paying. First of all it is NOT well kept. There is chipped paint everywhere, cracks in the floor boards and door frames and a damp, moldy smell throughout. The parking situation is HORRID. The entrance to the building is through a parking lot that they apparently don't own. They forgot to give me a parking pass so I was charged twice for exiting the garage and I was told they cannot help me cause another company owns the garage. When I finally was presented with a parking pass, it was left inside a lock box in a stairwell ...cause having a hotel attendant deliver that to may room would have been too much work, I assume. I could have paid $50/ day for parking at any other hotel downtown and least my var would be valet. Why am I paying you to park in a garage that's not even yours??? The wifi network in my unit was non existent, which based on previous comments is a regular occurence. I was given the wifi PW to the unit next door and roku system kept logging me out of my accounts and into theirs. Additionally, my carbon monoxide beeper went off. When I called to have someone confirm the unit was indeed SAFE, the "maintenance" person said it was probably because the heater was on or maybe old batteries with a shrug. He then took the system out and never returned with fresh batteries. Thank God it was not actual carbon monoxide poisoning! If you are in Austin and love staying at a dingy apartment with zero customer service presence, then this is the place for you!! Otherwise, take your money and expections to an actual hotel where the guest services agent don't work in an outsourced call center who can't answer...
