Visited BricknFire for a business lunch while in Baltimore for a conference. The place is not what I was expecting when we found first found it on Yelp (in a good way). It is a small shop with only a few tables right off the lobby of the Marriott. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff and they waited patiently while we determined what we would order. The individual taking our order was more than willing to provide helpful advice since we were ordering pizza and salads to share with the entire table. We ordered the margherita and hippie pizzas along with the sweet & salty and market salad. All were excellent choices and provided more than enough food for all three of those attending the meeting. My favorite item was the hippie pizza because it had a perfect balance of every ingredient so that all were present in the flavor palate. Even though the staff does not typically provide complete table service, the staff was nice enough to bring the food directly to our table and remove our empty pizza trays and salad bowls when we were finished.
While I would not recommend this place if you are having a serious business lunch, it is a perfect place for a quick lunch for any other purpose. The quality ingredients and diverse flavors are a welcome relief when compared to the typical food you can purchase in hotel...
Read morePizza is my most favorite thing to eat. I love it and will try a new place whenever possible. Now, with that being said, I saw this restaurant on Groupon. I looked it up and decided to try it based on the amazing reviews. I probably won't return to this restaurant. First, the Groupon is only on the pizza. So, if you're not getting more than one pizza, it's not worth it to purchase the groupon since the average price of a pizza is about $12 and the groupon is $12. If you want to try other things on the menu, you'll have to pay full price. As for the pizza, one pizza is enough for 2 people but 1 person with a big appetite could easily finish one pizza alone. In my opinion, the pizza wasn't that great. Now of course I compared it to my favorite pizza spot in MD which is Pizza Johns. The crust was a little soggy and it had a weird taste to it. I didn't like it. Nor did my mom, and son. I definitely didn't think that it was worth the price tag. I had to buy two pizzas in order to use the entire groupon. But, I won't visit again. I'll take that trip to Pizza Johns. I've never been disappointed there. I do wish I would have gotten to try other items from this restaurant. Maybe, I would have liked...
Read moreThe only reason I gave this place 1 star was because I had to in order to write a review. As the father of a bride that used this establishment to cater their wedding, they should be ashamed of themselves. After running out of food, and a close relative found the workers eating it, the entire wedding party did not have a chance to enjoy the appetizers that my daughter and son in law payed for. Embarrassing me in front of about 30 people and telling me that no drinks were going to be served unless someone came up with $30 to pay for an ingredient for the mai tai drinks. Which that ingredient wasn’t even needed. After all this, this so called place of business tried to tell my daughter and son in law that they owed $260 due to the fact that since the workers ate the food that my daughter and son in law had to pay for them. If you are out there and wish to used this so called caterer, DO NOT!!!! If you use this so called business then you do so at your own risk. By the way, the coffee that my wife and I supplied, was also consumed by this so called place of businesses workers. You will soon be finding a bill in the mail for the back charge of coffee that...
