This small establishment in Downtown Baltimore is truly a hidden gem. The place is very cozy and clean, with really decent service. Despite other reviewers complaining the service is slow, me and my family found it quite speedy. This probably had something to do with the fact that we were one of only two groups there at the time, and on a weekend as well. As for the food, it is surprisingly exceptional, and I really enjoyed the flavors. It was cooked properly, and the presentation was stellar. The staff were amazing and kind, and the artwork and photos inside were nice as well
We actually went here twice, and not for the reasons one may expect. The food was amazing, yes, but on my first visit here I lost my expensive sunglasses, ones which I had for years. I later found out they fell out of my back pocket while I was eating, and I left with out them, only to discover them missing when I got back to the hotel. My family (after calling me careless for half the night, which in all honesty is true), searched all the places we went to the day before with no luck. My dad was insisting that it was probably stolen (they were Ray-Ban glasses, after all) and that I wouldn't be see through them again. I was still persistent, and we went back to Thai Elephant Wok, as it was the last place I remembered having my glasses on my person before heading back to the hotel. When I got there, they were closed, so I called the counter, and a man opened the door. I told him about my predicament, and while he didn't see any glasses or know about the whereabouts of mine, he did happen to know someone who definitely would: His boss. He asked me to wait for 10 minutes, to which I politely said yes and waited. She came faster than that, and I immediately recognized her as the kind woman who served us the day before. It appeared as though she was behind this restaurant, and when I asked her about my glasses, she quickly went behind the counter and handed them to me with a smile!
As it turns out, after I left the other night with out my glasses, she must of had a feeling I would come back, so she kept them in the shop. I profusely thanked her, gave her a hug, and left with my family, all of us grateful. After almost leaving the city without them (it was the day before we went home), I wore my glasses on my face once again. Later that day, we did something nice in return, by patronizing her business when looking for something to eat before heading back to the hotel. The meal this time was just as good, if not greater than the previous, and we had an amazing time. Leaving you with that nice little story, I totally recommend this authentic Thai restaurant, and I am keeping it on my radar whenever I need a bit to eat...

As a preface to this review, let me state that I love fish, and work in a small business restaurant, so I know what I'm talking about. Waited 45 minutes to be seated at a table and was never given a menu. Table had dirty dishes on it and trash that weren't cleared until I pointed them out to my waiter. Looked at the menu on my phone, and my first coversation with my waiter was half an hour later. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 dishes. The 1st appetizer came out, then the 1st dish, then the 2nd appetizer, then the 2nd dish, way out of order. My boyfriend, who normally orders Medium+ or Hot, got mild and it was almost too hot for him. My dish, when it finally came out (roughly 45 mins), seemed as if it had been under hot lights for at least 5 minutes because my noodles were very dry on the top and the plate was very warm and when I tried to juice my lime it was too dry to produce any juice. The pad thai (no spice, thank god) was okay at best. Our waiter never gave us our check so we went up to the counter to pay our bill. Awful service, horridly long waiting times, and okay food. Will not be returning. The tanks in which they held fish were far too small for them. They had pond koi in a tank 1/10th of the size that would be acceptable. The beta fish all looked miserable in their tiny glasses. It is nice to put something in with betas so they have something to swim around, but putting bamboo in there is not good for the fish as the plant will mess with the composition of the water. All of the betas had ragged tails and dark pallettes, suggesting sickness. The fish in the larger tank had a lot of dark spots on the edges of their fins, suggesting either chlorine burn or ick. Awful way to...
Read moreThe food is ok at best. The spring rolls were pretty bland and mushy on the inside. There should be some bite, but it was quite lacking. There should be sweet chili sauce, there was a tiny amount and was more sweet than chili.
I love green curry, it's my favorite. However, it was lacking the heat, thai basil, and sweetness from coconut milk. It was sweet like sugar without any body. I'd pass on it, if I were you.
The chicken pad thai tasted like bland rice noodles without any seasoning or thai chilis. The pretty much added an over cooked scrambled egg on top without getting mixed in.
I ordered the sweet sticky rice with homemade coconut icecream. The sticky rice wasn't sweet, fresh, and came in a plastic bag which was microwaved. The coconut icecream was overly iced and was not fresh at all. Which was a shame, it tasted great was a high point, but the texture was ruined.
I contacted the restaurant to explain all of this, and all the guy said was "ok, what do you want me to do?" I said, "a refund, and you can take the food back". He refused and said "there's nothing wrong with the food." Ummm, ok?
Don't order from here. Customer service 0 stars,...
