A year prior, we had the pleasure of dining at this fine establishment. The customer service was top-notch, and the food was so delectable that my partner and I returned the following day. However, last night, the only consistent thing was the food. There was a noticeable change in the atmosphere, customer service, and prices. My partner and I sat by the bar for drinks while waiting for the chef to prepare our To-Go order. After providing the drinks, Tim, our attendant, was out of sight for a considerable time, despite the restaurant being scantily occupied. Tim did not check in to ascertain if we needed anything additional. My partner and I had to request the help of another representative to add other items to the order. When we asked for complimentary bread and butter while we waited, the second representative informed us that it's a process to get the bread because it has to be sliced and toasted, as it's not just sitting there in the kitchen waiting for customers. The second attendant portrayed our request as an inconvenience rather than a service. After receiving the items and the bill, my partner and I noticed a hefty tip. We inquired why the restaurant charged us such an outrageous tip that is equivalent to the cost of another entree item for a To-Go order and whether this was a new policy because a year prior, we tipped at our discretion, and not the restaurant tipping themselves, especially for a To-Go order. The restaurant representative informed us that all dinner entrees are accosted a 20% tip by the restaurant whether we dine in or out. I'm flabbergasted how time changes everything. There will not be another time as we will be eating at another fine establishment with much better customer service. We have no problem providing a tip, but we shall not give away our hard-earned money.

It was my first time visiting the city, and this place came highly recommend by the hotel staff. I got the mussels as an appetizer and they were amazing. NO SHELLS WERE EMPTY (literally, for every shell, there was a mussel and then some)! The mussels were such a good size that I could have eaten this as my main meal and been perfectly happy. The mussels were a wonderful flavor and consistency. The sauce was perfect, I dipped a LOT of bread in it (I'm new to the city, I get to let loose a bit, don't judge me). For dinner I got the crab cakes. Perfectly cooked with a light crispy outside, and generous amounts of crab inside. My hands span over an octave on the piano (for you non-musical folks, that means my hands are pretty big, truckersaurous big) if I balled them into a fist, that is how big one crab cake is...the entree comes with two of these beautiful and delicious creations, along with a side of your choice. I got the baked potato, it was huge and delicious! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and can recommend wine pairings and desserts. The desserts are fresh and plentiful, so don't be shy about getting some, I know I sure wasn't (though I got it to go, and forgot to take a photo because I was waaaay too excited to eat it)! I obviously would recommend coming here and encourage you to listen to staff recommendations :)

Let me start by saying it's pricey... BUT, very much worth it. There was no hostess when we went and it was a bit packed (Old Dominion was playing around the corner) so that was a bit disorganized however one on the "busser" older guy in an Orioles jersey walked us back to a table cleaned it all up and we were seated in less than 10. The waitress was a tall cute girl with an adorable accent super sweet and attentive considering it was busy for a small spot. Food was very good. Started with lobster balls and a cream of crab soup. They were exactly what you would expect. The seafood Newburg was sweet n creamy and the scallops specifically were cooked perfect. Wife got the trio. Crab Cake shrimp n scallops. Pretty big crab cake and the shrimp n scallops were in a very creamy rich butter garlic. A Luna punch, and jack honey mule to drink bothe were good. Now the down sides. gratuity was included at 20% (👎) not that service wasn't good just not a fan of that practice. I also have 10$ cause the Orioles shirt guy was super helpful n cool. Even said so in a note on the tab. And paper napkins. I'm spending $200+ on steak or seafood give me a real napkin lol. Would go again!

I regret that I am required to give this restaurant any stars in order to place my review. I have had some bad restaurant experiences over the years but Luna Del Sea was by far the WORST restaurant I have ever been to! My husband and I along with our daughter decided to try it for the first time last night before a concert at the Royal Farms arena. They did not appear overly busy and we wanted a nice meal not fast food or typical bar food. We were seated immediately outside on the front patio which we appreciated since it was a nice night. Our server Heather gave us menus fairly quickly and even went through the lengthy list of specials for the night. We ordered some drinks and waited. Heather returned shortly with our drinks and water, we ordered appetizers and our entrees at that time. That was at approximately 6pm...one hour and 15 minutes later our appetizers finally arrived! We did manage to get one more order of drinks in between but otherwise nothing. While we were waiting we noticed every other table around us was having the same problem and many people just started to get up and leave. When the appetizers did arrive (steamed mussels and Oysters Rockefeller) they were lukewarm and mushy. At that point we did not want to wait for our entrees, we were going to be late for the concert and after the horrible appetizers did not want to chance it. I had to go inside to find someone and finally located the manager. I realized he was the manager only due to him having been standing in almost exactly the same spot in the dining area the entire time we were there and because another customer was complaining to him about the exact same thing! I told him that at that point we wanted to cancel our entrees and just get the bill for the appetizers and drinks so we could leave. He did not seem concerned at all about the long wait for food or quality. He just stated he would get Heather and tell her. Ten minutes later Heather arrived at our table with our entrees! They were all cold or lukewarm (seafood). We asked immediately for the check and told her we had a concert, we were going to be late, etc. Heather apologized for the slow service by explaining “to many people showed up at once” and that was the problem. We were willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and didn’t want to blame her for slow service by the kitchen, etc., that is until we asked for the check. She was told we needed to go and was obviously aware we were not happy with the food or service. So what does Heather do? She went and got our check and I watched as she approached our table and inexplicably stopped, turned around went to another table and started removing the dirty dishes from it and then even went to get them more wine! Meanwhile the manager was still standing in the same spot watching all of this and did nothing. From my experience this horrible service was not due to the restaurant being temporarily overloaded with customers. This is just poor management and under staffing. There were not that many customers in the restaurant that this should have been an issue. It goes without saying we will never return to this restaurant and I hope that people will think twice about going there, especially if you have a concert or other event you are trying to get to. This place is located in between Camden Yards and the Inner Harbor. I am certain during nice weather and when other events are going on in that area they are even busier and should have had no problem preparing simple dishes like steamed mussels and shrimp scampi quickly and properly. These are...

Long story long: took a trip with a bud to see the Packers at the Ravens the weekend of 12/18/21 – 12/19, and we stayed at the Hilton – so the first night, after a few drinks, I did a google search for “seafood restaurants near me” (when in Baltimore, eat crab no?) and low and behold, this place, Luna Del Sea Steak & Seafood Bistro, came up, only 400+ feet away – heck we could crawl there if need be! We went there and were served by Brie – I should note that I remember her, because when I asked her name, she said Brie, like the cheese . . . and she was very pleasant and attentive to our dining requirements – my bud asked what’s good, and she the house specialty, Broiled Seafood Trio, so he is easy anyway, and he ordered it . . . I on the other hand wanted something special, to which Brie replied “not a problem” . . . and being an older Eyetalian from Jerzey and remembering my yut, I asked for linguini with crab on to[p . . . again Brie replied “not a problem” – we also ordered the crab dip as an app well, we were so happy we trusted the Google to find a place to eat – the dip was excellent, my bud’s trifecta was excellent (I bogarted some of his carb cake) and my pasta with crabs was outrageously excellent – you wanna how I judge a plate with thing, besides it tasting good and the meal is cooked correctly . . . if you have, like in this case, crab with pasta, and you get to have crab with every bite of pasta – CHECK! Next day we go to the game and enjoy ourselves – Packers win a close one for Shirley – and we take our time to leave as I have a bad knee, but as we stopped at places to eat/drink on the way back to our hotel, all are packed to the door, and some have run outta food We get back to our hotel and say, “let’s try the joint from last night, they had good food, service and drinks” . . . which was once again this place, Luna Del Sea Steak & Seafood Bistro – we get there and it’s crowded, but there are two seats at the bar – that will work! And two female bartenders waited on us, while Tim kept the bar stocked Note: after the meal and service, I asked the bartenders for their names to write this review, and one of them wrote them down on a napkin – and it made it all the way back to Jerzey with me, and then I lost it – mea culpa! But before we order, there was one really obnoxiously drunk Packer fan . . . just being a pain to everyone around him . . . we sat close to him at first, then we moved further away when more seats opened up . . . and then he followed us, and asked me if he could sit by me (“no, no the ‘blank’ no” . . . “oh so that’s how you wanna be?!?” ) – so I flag down one of the bartenders and I tell here she needs to get him outta here as he is going to ruin my meal – she takes him over to the side, calmly talks to him, and he walks out – No Fussin, No Cussin, No Backtalkin - Amazing – she saved my night/meal, I swear to dog! But I digress . . . my bud orders Filet Mignon with crab meat on top . . . well that sounds good, we will take two and we open with crab balls – once again, everything was excellent and once again, I had crab with EVERY bite of meat – NICE! Great place, great service, wonderful help and they easily handle drunks . . . also fair prices Oh, and the drinks...

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Luna del Sea

I recently visited Luna del Sea with high hopes for a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit turned out to be an absolute disappointment. I sat at my table for a staggering 20 minutes without anyone bothering to approach me to take my order. What made matters worse was the fact that I seemed to be the only customer in the entire restaurant (not sitting at the bar).

The lack of attention and service was truly disheartening. It left me feeling ignored and unimportant as a customer. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but with only one customer to attend to, it's difficult to fathom why I was neglected for such a prolonged period.

Not only was the wait frustrating, but it also impacted my overall dining experience. I had initially looked forward to sampling the restaurant's offerings, but the prolonged neglect made me lose my appetite and eventually leave without placing an order. It's a shame because I was genuinely interested in trying their cuisine.

Customer service plays a crucial role in any dining establishment, and it's clear that Luna del Sea failed in that aspect. In addition to the disappointing service, there was no attempt from the staff to apologize or rectify the situation. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism only added to my frustration.

As a paying customer, I believe it's important to receive a certain level of attention and respect. Unfortunately, my experience at Luna del Sea fell drastically short in both regards. I strongly urge the management to address the issue and improve their customer service protocols to ensure that other patrons do not have to endure a similarly disappointing experience.

Overall, I cannot recommend Luna del Sea based on my visit. The complete lack of service and attention to the only customer in the restaurant was unacceptable. I hope the management takes this review constructively and works towards improving their service quality for the sake of...
