We were in town to watch the Minnesota Twins take on the O's at Camden Yards. After the game ended, we were looking for a place open late that served food.
The first place we searched closed the kitchen earlier (before 10pm on a Monday - which understandable, but they were to be known for a late kitchen). All that said, we hit a home run in finding Water Street Tavern.
We felt welcomed right away by service staff and Jodi was great!
Served us up two excellent margaritas to start!
We ordered their wings, which they boast as "our famous Tavern Wings" and they DID NOT disappoint. We went with the Classic Buffalo with side or ranch and celery. The wing temperature came out steaming hot. The wings (4 drumettes and 4 flat) were cooked perfectly with a great crunch. the classic buffalo had good flavor, although we would have liked a little more spice.
My spouse ordered the Tavern Club and shared that it was a great club sandwich with fresh ingredients and a well balanced club sandwich with a side of fries.
I went with the Chicken Caesar Wrap with blackened chicken. A well dressed wrap that had an excellent Caesar flavor.
We would definitely recommend checking this place out, especially if you are looking for a late night spot in Baltimore...they were taking orders after 11:00pm on a Monday night!
We would definitely come back, especially for the wings. The wings are half-priced during Happy Hour on Tuesdays (3:00-7:00pm).
Rated 5 for food and service as what we ordered tasted great and was a good value. We also rated atmosphere a 5 being a late Monday night and the place had a fair amount of tables occupied and seemed like patrons were enjoying themselves. The Key West Patio that is outside and part of the Water Street Tavern was full and seemed to have...
Read moreOn the night of 12/03/2024 around 10:30ish my fiancée and I just wanted to enjoy dinner at the tavern. We had been recommended there by our friend Mason. The atmosphere was chill, we spoke when we walked in and everything seemed cool. We ordered 1 ginger ale and 1 coke, my fiancée noticed they served ginger beer then kindly asked if she could switch the coke for one of those instead. Our server Aruailio first gave attitude about switching the drinks as if we asked rudely. He sighed and said “I mean I guess…”He still proceeded to pour the new drink and we thanked him. We ordered our food shortly after and I asked for fries and instead got rice. I bring it to the servers attention and with no hesitation did he insist that I told him that’s what I wanted rather than apologize for possibly mishearing me, and/or offer to bring the correct side. I didn’t want to make a big fuss so I decided to just try out the rice and my fiancée offered to share her fries. As she went to the restroom and I inspected the food I witnessed a piece of hair on the plate. My fiancée returns and I bring it to her attention, she suggests looking deeper into the food itself. Low and behold after taking a good look into it and I find another piece of hair. When I brought it to our server’s attention he had a shockingly nonchalant attitude and said “If it happens it happens..” I kindly ask the server if I could have my order remade and addressed the fact I felt conflicted between different actions and interactions with him. When I called management to resolve the issue they said I need to wait for a call back from there. It has been two weeks and no one has...
Read moreMe and my wife had a good and bad experience there.
The good-The first night we ate at the Water Street Tavern we had a amazing bartender/server named Tim who was very friendly and could work the bar and serve multiple tables at the same time while also being attentive to everyone. He also gave recommendations for great local places. The second night we ate at the Key west patio bar and our bartender/server named Candice was absolutely awesome she handled the whole bar by herself and treated every customer like they were regulars. She even remembered exactly what a group of people had to drink from the night before after only seeing them one time and she not only took drink orders she took food orders at the same time without having to write anything down for either of the orders.
The bad-The second night we tried going to The Water Street Tavern but was turned away by a rude server named Josie. Me and my wife wanted to go there and get drinks because of our great experience we had the night before, but before we could even take a seat at the bar Josie said "uh-uh I can't handle yall, yall need to go downstairs", indicating that we should go to the Key West patio bar side of the restaurant.
That's where we met Candice who salvaged our night and I would highly recommend getting her peach passion drink and cinnamon toast crunch shot. I would also recommend their crab dip along with the rest of the good food...
