Sea St Cafe is one of if not my favorite breakfast restaurant of all time. My wife and I have been here so many times and everytime we come we both have an excellent experience. The first thing you’ll notice about Sea St Cafe when you walk in is that it’s sooooo clean. The staff is constantly sweeping the floor, the bathrooms are clean, and the parking lot never has any trash on it. The outside of the restaurant just also looks so inviting. Seating right outdoors, aesthetic building, truly everything you can ask for in a breakfast place. The waitresses we’ve all had are always incredible, very generous, compassionate, and friendly. The atmosphere inside is very relaxing, plenty of space between tables too so you don’t feel crammed in. The food is impeccable. The presentation is elegant, the portions and ratios of what’s on the plate are always perfect, and it all tastes so good. The food is so fresh too and it’s always made with great ingredients. While you’re waiting for your food, the staff brings out cheese bread. My wife and I always have the biggest smile when the waitress brings the cheese bread over to the table. I don’t even know how to explain how much I enjoy the cheese bread with words. My personal favorite item on the menu is the Irish Benedict. I eat up every last piece of meat and crumb when I order it. Finishing off with the desert, I strongly advise you to try the Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes. Today I ordered the Steak and Eggs and it came out perfectly. The steak was incredibly well seasoned and packed with flavor and the poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce on top made for an excellent flavor combination. My wife only had good comments about the French Toast she ordered today, she was thrilled to find out that the dish was topped with fresh strawberries and glazed walnuts. She usually doesn’t enjoy eating sweets but she absolutely loved the French Toast anyway. I don’t even need to consider the fact that I will be visiting this place again soon. If you are a local or you’re visiting the Cape, I strongly recommend that you wake up bright and early and get some delicious breakfast from...
Read moreLong after all other breakfasts were served at my table, our waitress finally brought me a plate that looked like what I ordered, Ish. I tasted an odd omelette for a few bites before she returned to inform me she gave me the wrong plate. It had the correct toast and correct side but the wrong omelette. I had ordered the Irish omelette. Even when I got the correct one, it was the worst I’ve ever had. Corned beef is mixed with the egg, causing the egg flavor to be lost and the egg to be dried out. There did not seem to be corned beef hash, just corned beef. There was a flavorless thick white sauce on top of the omelette, apparently in lieu of hot melted cheese on the inside of the omelette. The marble rye toast was marble, but was very thick and soft. Not the texture one would expect. It was a pleasant surprise to see the hashbrowns were a mix of white and sweet potatoes, however, oil oozed out when punctured with my fork and there was no seasoning. That first omelette I was brought I was told was a bacon and American cheese omelette. Again the crumbled bacon was mixed with the egg to the same effect as the corned beef. The only good thing on the plate was the wedge of a blood orange. However, it was perched on a pinch of completely wilted field greens.
I ordered two barista drinks. The first was a cappuccino served in a tall Irish coffee style mug, instead of the usual wide mouth cappuccino cup. The effect was drinking all of the espresso and leaving a half a cup of foam. It needs to be in a cappuccino cup. I also ordered a macchiato. This came in an acrylic handleless cup, OK, however, the beverage was the same as their cappuccino just a different cup. It was an espresso with thick foam rather than steamed milk.
The place is very tight quarters for being outside of New York City. Before we were even served beverages another server cleared a table and then ran the dirty plates along the back of another guest at my table because she couldn’t lift the dishes high enough to squeeze through...
Read moreSometimes strolling into a cafe is like entering a bright new world. Recently, on our first visit to Sea Street Cafe, my wife and I were immediately impressed by its gleaming clean feel; its tables graced with fresh flowers; and the melodious sounds drifting through. In a frazzled world, we thought, this is a welcoming haven! And before we could peruse the ample menu, our kindly server, Kerolyn, greeted us with two of their warm signature Brazilian cheese rolls: and how scrumptious! Although the cafe features a tasty range of libations rangingng from a unique cranberry mimosa to Pinot Grigio and Corona, my wife tried the coffee; and in a word: fresh and robust. (OK, two words.) I bailed with a peppermint tea (and a small pot of extra hot water to extend my tea party). Next, we shared a Western Omelette, baked and full of peppers, diced ham and cheddar with a generous dollop of fresh simple home fries; next time: baked beans. As the lunch crowd thinned, we sipped our warm drinks and also met Mily, a server who also embodies the cafe's warmth and dedication to quality and service. As we lingered and got to know more about her and the cafe's history, a thunderstorm pounding outside, she offered to stay open in case our scheduled ride home was delayed. My wife and I were so grateful; and soon headed out with memories of a superior brunch in a gracious and charming place, truly a Cape...
