Nestled in the heart of Hyannis, the Roadhouse Cafe effortlessly delivers a standout dining experience—combining excellent service, good value, and a varied menu that would appeal to both locals and vacationers alike. From the moment you walk in, the Roadhouse resonates with warmth and grace. The waiting staff are attentive and friendly with a good knowledge of the menu. To enhance a dining experience the service needs to be seamless, thoughtful with an emphasis on attention to detail. On our visit The Roadhouse had all this. This is not the cheapest restaurant on the block but in our opinion it is worth every penny. You can tell that high end produce is used here to create a varied menu that caters for most tastes. On this visit we indulged in a half dozen oysters that were perfect in every aspect. We also had mussels that were delicious and the best Caesar salad that I have ever tasted. I enhanced my salad with the addition of grilled chicken and anchovies. The fresh bread was regularly topped up and that was served with a lovely in house sauce. To summarise my review The Roadhouse Cafe in Hyannis was warm, serving quality food and brought a friendly atmosphere to our table. It was not at is busiest when we visited but I can imagine when the restaurant is busier the atmosphere would be even better. They have music on certain evenings that would be sure to draw the crowds. So if you are in the mood for elegant steak, decadent seafood, or a lighter Italian‑inspired option, then look no further than The...
Read moreWonderful overall experience. Our new favorite restaurant from 30 years of dining here on the Cape. We are locals who have tried many places. The food here is very good and comparatively speaking reasonable. My chicken Marsala $26 was a generous serving of two large cutlets, tasty mushrooms and half a plate of angel hair pasta. The sauce was thick and flavorful. My wife had scallops over a risotto that was tasty. We shared an app of straciatelle cheese which was very good $15. The food is lightly salted and I needed more but it’s easier to add than to get an entree with too much. The menu has a wide variety of items and great cocktails. But the BEST part of the experience was how welcome we felt. Rick the owner greeted and seated us and was very kind and humble. As a handson owner and manager he takes pride in his place. I mentioned how we had read reviews praising Livingston a waiter, and although he wasn’t in our area, Rick brought him over. What a personable and nice young man! Our waiter was Vince who was also extraordinary. He was knowledgeable of how the items are prepared, very attentive without being obtrusive, and also personable and humble. The atmosphere is calm with wood paneling and extremely comfortable and sturdy leather upholstered chairs. You can find good food and nice settings all over the Cape BUT the service here stands way above others. We love Grill 23 in Boston for it’s food, service and atmosphere, but if The Roadhouse was in Boston we would have a hard time choosing...
Read moreI was just there this evening and I've never felt so rushed in my life to eat and go. From the time I checked in on Fb when we got seated, to being 5 mins from home in Sandwich was 40mins. We even ordered an appetizer. And on website it says special, if dining before 6pm you get complimentary garden salad and $3 off dinner. Not concerned about the money. Had I known wasn't going to get salad would've ordered one. The food we ordered was good. I had the New Orleans shrimp and wife had the baked scrod. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious also. I think I know why rushed but won't say it. The people next to us were there before we got seated. Same waiter and we had drinks, app, and dinner served before they had any food brought. Was asked if we were good on bread so said yes, thinking didn't want to bring anymore not that they were taking everything away. Wife had just taken a piece but they took away the dipping oil. Just very disappointing. To have drinks apps and dinner brought in a record 15mins anywhere is unheard of. So...
