Well I live here and I have a wonderful life. My daughter was born 20 days after moving day and I couldn't be happier. There are tons of small restaurants and shops locally owned with good people. The sites are gorgeous as well. The local government is looking to bring back the original lake so we can reestablish the original ecosystem. Which will bring more water back to the area. Summer is fun for hiking and fishing but the winter is ski/snowboard season. Good drinks, good food, and good people. Its why I live here.

My wife and I wanted a getaway weekend so booked this 'lodge' based on the photos that appeared to show a cute cottage. We paid $90 for the room and another $90+ for the cleaning fee- with taxes it came to over $200 for one night. I stay in hotels 50 weeks out of the year on business and this was no $200 a night place. The carpet was stained and threadbare. It had 2 bedrooms which were OK enough in the dark - as long as you had a fire in the fireplace it was cozy but with the lights on you could see it needed some TLC. I have no idea why they thought putting a mini flatscreen up on the wall was a good idea - from the bed (which was the only place to sit - no chairs in either room) the screen was tiny. The football game was on but the screen was so small any of the scores or text updates were just a blur. All the birds nest of cabling and power cords hanging under each TV was also a nice touch. The rental management company charges extra if you leave trash in the trashcan and give you a location to dispose of it that is blocks away - not even on the same property. The bed was about as comfortable as lying on a bag of bowling balls. When I first sat on it I thought for sure it sagged to the floor. In the kitchen there was a plain table and a couple mis-matched chairs. That was all there was to sit on in the whole place. The fridge was placed against a wall where a large 24x36 picture hung - the picture literally was behind the fridge. Who does that? Why even hang a picture there? I dunno. It was our first time in Big Bear and maybe this was typical of a place that gets used by skiers but it felt like if you're going to market it for a romantic weekend getaway you missed the mark. I'll return to Big Bear but I won't...

It’s the host that makes this stay so special. We have worked with Bryant through these last couple of weeks for a Last min trip for a family emergency. Our stays have been day by day and he has been more than accommodating to make sure we had a place go. Location is walking distance to the village, great for a little walk, shopping, or a quick bite to eat. Even when we had a minor issue with the sink maintenance fixed it right away. We stayed in cabin 6 & 7 at this location. I would highly recommend this agency, multiple locations to choose from. Great cleaning and maintenance staff, Along with a wonderful host. Very...
