This motel charged my credit card fraudulently. I booked a reservation in my boyfriends name and the credit card to hold the room was in my name. I was attending an event in Clearwater so my boyfriend went to the motel to check us in, however, the desk clerk (who is also the owner) said that they could not check him in because the credit card used to hold the reservation was different then the name on the reservation. Despite the fact that identification was given to the desk clerk, my boyfriend was told that he would have to come back later to check in with the actual credit card. My boyfriend went to get the credit card from me, went back to the motel and it was closed. We called repeatedly and nobody answered. It was bad enough that we did not have a place to stay, but the next morning they charged us $203.40 for the room and considered it a “no show”. How can it be considered a no-show when there wasn’t anyone to check us in DURING BUSINESS HOURS? We called the hotel to dispute this and they never answered the phone. We then drove to the hotel and spoke with the same sketchy motel clerk who admitted that he had to close two hours early and therefore was not there to check us in. He refused to refund the $203 and the police were called. The police spoke with him for almost two hours and he still refused to refund the funds. At the advice of the police, we are filing a fraudulent charge with our credit card company. The police said the credit card companies would have the authority to have security footage and phone records pulled to confirm that we tried to check in. As for the motel itself, although we did not see an actual room, the lobby was dirty and smelled terrible. I can only imagine how awful the actual rooms were. We are college kids who were trying to save funds by staying in what we know would be an outdated motel, however it ended up costing us much more than a decent hotel. I cannot stress enough that this motel...
Read moreIf you have the money and can afford 30$ more stay away. I went when other hotels were booked and had no choice. I killed 4 roaches, had only 3 towels to use for a family of 5, I had to open the oven, turn it on, and blow dry the towel so it could be dry. I tried calling the manager to get more towels at 10pm, and no one is there. I called at least 6 times and went to the office. No one to help. I woke up at 2 in the morning to two roaches having sex on the kitchen floor, hope they enjoyed their fun because they died that night (If I didn't get any, neither are you) The wall socket has no grip and was actually sucking power from my sons tablet and was scorching hot after 10minutes. I found a blunt in the window seal of the bathroom. The bed had a massive dent in the middle, so me and my husband would end right in the middle smashed together, it was like fighting to roll up a hill. I did not sleep well at all because I was afraid of other things possibly living in the room with us, not to mention the noisey people at the pool at 4am. We were over charged at 170$ the owners took advantage of the weekend, I get it, but at least have no bugs and give me some damn towels. If I had the two simple things that are ethical I would have been okay with the dip in the bed, the blunt, and the old box TV with blurry display. The staff was pleasant to my family I had no personal conflict other than not being able to reach them. I couldn't wait to get home and shower. My bags are still in the garage just in case a roach got in. No new friends in my...
Read moreSo here's the break down. I walk in after a long day of evacuating from my home because of hurricane Matthew. I walk in and am greeted by Roger. Initial impression is friendly. He checks me in and gives me my key. I enter the room to find that the overall appearance is clean. The bathroom is clean. The whole unit has white ceramic tiled floor. The kitchenette is spacious but with small appliances. The furniture is old; very old. The sleeping area is separated by a perforated partition. The blinds were broken and unable to be closed; no privacy. I have a child; there are old, unused light fixtures around the unit without shades and light bulbs. The shower head didn't work properly... the water poured from the showerhead like a garden hose without a spraying nozzle attached. There is no flat screen TV or breakfast. The I return to the office to let him know of the broken blinds and burn mark on the wall by the stove. Now Roger is very nonchalant about this giving the impression of not caring. All of this and he has the audacity to charge me $100 + tax for a night. I didn't have much choice because my family and I had been on the road all day and there were no vacancies anywhere else. So I paid it. It's definitely not at all worth that. I feel as if he took advantage of the situation. I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone.
