I’ve been a loyal customer at Gold Dust Casino in Deadwood for years, but I’m really disappointed with the recent changes. Gold Dust used to be my number one go-to spot, but last month, I was shocked to see that my monthly free play was slashed down to just $10. On top of that, I lost my Free Play Frenzy, which was a major perk that kept me coming back. The thing is, I’ve never gambled any less there than I always have, so there’s really no explanation for the sudden cut.
I’ve reached out to ask about it, but no one seems to have a clear answer as to why this happened. It’s frustrating when you’ve been a regular and loyal customer, and you feel like your rewards are just stripped away without any communication or reason. Honestly, it feels like the service I used to get here is no longer a priority, and I’m really not happy about it. So, I’m thinking about taking my business elsewhere — probably down to WinStar, where I feel like the rewards program is more consistent and fair. Sadly, this may be the end of my time at Gold Dust unless something changes.

We played balckjack. We are entertainment players who just enjoy the game. We played a little … maybe $1,200 (of which we lost) before we decided to leave. But this is not why I am writing.
After a few hours of fun play at the BJ table, the pit boss DOUG ( a genuine class a jerk!) that night of Nov 25th came into a dealer rotation. He walks up to the table, THE FIRST thing he does.. he SHAKES the tip box! Then in a LOUD voice exclaims “NICE! You know we work here for tips! and people looked…
I respond with “We have been tipping, in fact we were the ONLY ones tipping at the table all night”.
He proceeded to shake the box again as if to call me a liar !!! Then again goes on to say how “these people live off of tips!” In a blatant attempt to publicly shame us!!!! We have never, ever experienced this sort of a treatment from a dealer… let alone a pit boss in a dealer rotation. Ive NEVER seen this at any casino in my life and I have played all over the world.
If they want to use public shamming as a source of wage increase.. its not working. Wont ever...
Read moreWe stayed in a non-smoking King room. The room was clean but cluttered. There were too many items (in my opinion) in the King room. There was the microwave, refrigerator, tv, tv stand, chair, and two-person bench pushed against the wall by the bed. Maybe remove the chair? I'm not complaining but trying to offer some ideas to make it less crowded.
Also, due to COVID, there was not housekeeping, which was understandable. We appreciate the fact that there were towels left on the 3rd floor so we could obtain clean towels. A suggestion might be to also offer some additional trash can liners so that we could remove some of the trash from our trash cans and not allow them to over fill.
Great location for walking to the casinos and restaurants. The room was clean (but cluttered).
Again, all of this is some feedback. We would stay there again due to the location, but are...
