**Disappointing Stay - No Security, Noise, and Poor Customer Service** We recently stayed at Hotel Gold Dust in Deadwood from September 19th-20th, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. First, our room didn’t even have a deadbolt to lock the door. Around 8:20 a.m., a man walked into our room without knocking, claiming he thought we had checked out. This was both alarming and completely unacceptable. When we reported this to the front desk, the staff’s response was dismissive. The lady at the desk basically said, "Whoops, here’s your receipt," and made no effort to address our concerns. On top of the security issue, the room itself was uncomfortable. It was very noisy due to traffic outside, and the portable A/C didn’t help the noise because you had to leave the window open for it to work—letting in even more noise. To make matters worse, the toilet ran constantly throughout our stay. Between the lack of security, constant noise, and poor customer service, I cannot recommend this hotel. It was a deeply disappointing experience.

Very clean hotel. It was a nice and quiet stay. Bed was comfy, shower pressure great, spotless bathroom. It is in the heart of Deadwood, so if you are looking to walk around and be close to everything this is a great place to stay. It was super reasonably priced, but it wasn’t summer and it was the middle of the week when I stayed so I do not know about prices during peak tourism season. They have a parking lot available for free parking. They are pet friendly too which is always amazing!!! Front desk key was super nice and recommended some good food and the person who took the reservation on the phone was also super nice.

PARKING IS OFFSITE.. You can park in front to load and unload but you have to drive 2 blocks away then walk back. The lot is really open and at the base of a mountain that looks like it has had some mud slides. Continental breakfast and the WiFi wasn't configured correctly so I couldn't connect. The front desk gave me the password to a different network. The thermostat in the room is weird. I didn't know how to turn on the air-conditioner at first then I kind of figured it out and finally got the air to turn on, but it didn't cool the room well.

We are teachers in our late 50s from Mass. We stayed in Deadwood for 2 nights on our way to Mt.Rushmore|The Hotel is in a great location one street removed from " historic " Deadwood. The hotel itself is in a old industrial building repourposed o|Into a hotel. The designers did a nice in creating the hotel. However as the building was not built to be a hotel there are a few limitations. The queen and king rooms are tiny( our super 8 hotel room was twice the size) but clean and thoughtfully laid out. But certainly not the kind of place you would want to spend a rainy afternoon. Furthermore being downtown you will hear some ambient street noise but nothing dramatic. There is no parking at the hotel but there is parking just a short walk away and most of Deadwood is walkable.|The staff were professional and helpful. |I especially liked Ashley. She was kind, professional offered good suggestions for food and things to do.|The type of person who you would be happy to have as a friend.|If I was passing through Deadwood would I stay at the hotel again. Maybe as I think you move the hotel a few blocks away and it would be over priced for...

Booked in at this hotel for 3 nights which was last minute as we were on a roadtrip.|We had a groundfloor room which was just fine for us.Lovely large bathroom & shower, hairdryer, comfy bed ,small fridge and a tv...no complaints here.|The only downside was that although there was a window it was under a fire escape and the room was quite dark but for the amount of time we were in it this wasn't a problem. Our friends who also had a groundfloor room had no window at all.|Location is great as its just off the main street and the parking is in a car park quite near the hotel. You can park outside for 20 mins to load/unload your cars but then they have to be moved.|All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.A big thankyou to the guy who was on night duty one night (didn't get his name) who went out of his way to help me when i had a problem with one of the vending machines.|Breakfast is self serve..All in all a very...
