Do not ever judge a book by its cover!! I had thought this restaurant was a Dalmation dog loving spot based off the image when we first walked šŸš¶ā€ā™‚ļøinto the restaurant through the Hilton. Let's just say I was so far off from what we expected!! The white walls when leaving the Hilton changed to brick 🧱 and cherry oak type of wood when entering Woodie Fisher šŸ• The aroma was pleasant and VERY welcoming šŸ¤—.

One of the biggest šŸ†traits I look for when going into a new restaurant is how patient the staff is with my very talkative children.Ā  We were greeted with grace and the manager was SO friendly to my to my three children.Ā  He helped to attach their coloring sheets to clip boards šŸ“‹and gave them a variety of colors šŸŽØ to use. He answered their questions and requests quickly and nicely.Ā  He was well dressed with light tones which made him stand out as the manager.Ā  Great job sirā€¼ļø.

You sat us quickly,Ā  and in an area which was not too far from the šŸ›£ street view or the bathrooms 🚻.

Now let's get to Dallas ā¤ļø. You sir, are an amazing serverā€¼ļø He is quick and very knowledgeable about the dishes šŸ½ and what pairs well with which winesšŸ· He knew about all the dishes and also paid attention to my dietary requests. I like to eat good and healthy while being able to have a glass of wine. Dallas had recommend the steak which from the pictures you can see was elegantly prepared. It was cooked so well and full of flavor. Not too tough and easy to chew. I even finished some of the steak later that night šŸŒ™.

A couple of tid bits about this location.Ā  The chef makes their own jam šŸ‡Ā  in house and is superb!!!!! Dallas,Ā  the waiter gave me the background story about the chef but I will not steal his lime light, I think you need to go for yourself and hear about this lovely place on your own.

A down side is they're are not many kid options here though except for a kids cheese pizza, or cheese burger. The fries,Ā  were the BOMB though. The pizza šŸ• amazing! The burger šŸ” amazing.Ā  The steak šŸ˜‹ WOW and the steak sauce is made IN HOUSE! The menu changes seasonally soĀ  Definitely check it out once every season to see the new options.

So I want to go ahead and explain this structure a little more on this reviewĀ  because I have to give the server and the manager credit for all of the information they gave to us regarding this location. It used to be a firehouse, the 1st one in Denver, matter of matter of fact šŸ’Æ! The volunteer firefighter who retired was/is named Woody Fisher. I could be getting this story wrong which is why you definitely need to go check this place out... The brick in the old firehouse is now the interior of the restaurant. I do not want to spoil anymore anymore knowledge the staff shares with their customers. Woodie Fisher,Ā  the hour and a 1/2 time ā³ļøwe spent at your restaurant is is one of the most amazing times I have ever had with my children. This was my 1st little Mini vacation that I took with my kids and your staff made it such a memorable experience that I will never forget this location, ever 😁!

Dallas, you have won my heart over as one of the best servers, I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.Thank you all so much for the awesome experience and I give you a 5 out of 5, sir! The in house sauces, wine options,Ā  cleanliness,Ā  up beat staff and the incredible menu have won us over! I will return in the fall to check out the new menu.Ā  Fantastic work, Woodie...

My family & friends come here with us pretty regularly as we love their happy hour & dinner menu.

We made a reservation for the holiday brunch (with a card on file) via OpenTable. Everything was fine, we ordered food, staff was friendly.

About 10 minutes into eating my husband said he didn’t feel well and went to the bathroom. About 5 minutes later he said he threw up. I, like any reasonable partner, went to check on him. There was no one else in the men’s bathroom, but after I checked in & helped clean up, I went to wash my hands & the manager came BUSTING in to the bathroom GLARING at me, but didn’t say anything. I mentioned my husband was sick and that I was just checking on him.

He apparently stood there for a few moments after I left since I went back to the table, but did not bother to ask my husband or me if he was ok. Just stood there like a weirdo.

As this was happening, our friend was still sitting at the table — so this was very clearly not a weird or sketchy dine & dash situation.

However, as SOON I sat back down, the same manager came up & immediately started rushing us to leave. Within 5 minutes, he’d asked twice if we were ā€œdone with thatā€ (my husbands plate that still had most of this meal), and tried to clear all our dishes.

He dropped the check while I was still eating (and again, NEVER asked if he was ok despite going into the bathroom, NEVER asked if it was the food that had made him sick, NOTHING) & stared at our table until we paid & left.

Our friend was speechless & literally didn’t know what to say, my husband who had gotten sick came out to his family being rushed out the door, & I was just confused about why we were being treated like we were accused of something, when the only words the manager had were ā€œare you done?ā€

It’s unfortunate because we come here at least once a month, and our service was great from everyone else. But I’m really not sure what the managers deal was or if he was profiling me in some way, but if he thought we did something wrong, he handled it entirely inappropriately for the fact that a guest was physically sick while eating there.

Again, the table was at NO point completely empty, we made a RESERVATION with our name AND cc info, and the manager at WF did nothing but the absolute wrong thing the entire time we were there.

I have never been made to feel more uncomfortable in my entire life, AND still paid $100...

We loved our visit. Caught the end of HH and decided to eat dinner at the bar. To be honest, this was an experience that was destined for a solid 4 but the service of Hanna made it a 5. Cyrus (not sure of spelling) was the other bartender, and although we talked to only Hanna, he seemed to be also on his game. The HH is solid. $5 lager that is not bad ($4 on the website), and $5 wine that my wife said was solid. $2 off the cocktails is cool, but you ARE near downtown, so deals are tough. The building is nostalgic, and one side is very open with lots of windows and the other is more indoors-y. Sorry. I didn't take pics of the place except for the food on this visit. But, LOVED the space. The bar has a really cool vibe, and filled up fast. Wood bar, plenty of seats. If looking for sports, they had it on, but it wasn't behind the bar, so you are aware. TV's were on the side. So, don't go there FOR sports, but know that sports will be on if you want it in the background. You can do a date night with a big game and steal glances of it. I got the shrimp scampi with gnocchi. Solid, solid, solid. Smaller portion, but it made me appreciate every bite. Wife got the steak and frites, and it was good. I think they should season their delicious fries a little more, but we loved them overall. Steak was cooked great. I recommend getting the horsey aioli with the fries. Overall, our experience was great, and Hanna (without the ending "h") was personable, efficient, and nice. Highly recommend, and...
