Hello! I was super surprised by our experience given all the awesome reviews. That said, we called and made a reservation for 4 for an hour starting at 5pm. When we arrived we were told that our session wouldn't begin till 5:30pm as thats when the group before us would finish. We are happy to be flexible and patient we just had a dinner reservation for my birthday at 6:30 right around the corner so decided we'd just cut our hour a little short to make our reservation. We started our session at 5:30 and from that point forward things were comically frustrating. We had been provided with a laminated list of games while we were waiting and had picked out a few that the four of us could play together. When I told the employee what games we wanted to play he asked, "where did you get this list?" I proceeded to remind him that this was the list of games he gave to us to look through. He informed us that the games we wanted to play were no longer available. Not a problem...like I said we are flexible. So we took a look at the wall where there is a much longer list of available games. Each game we picked out the employee stated either "that one is no longer available" or "that one is only downloaded on two headsets" or "I've never heard of that game." I completely understand having an off day and am willing to give VR Arcade another chance and edit my review being that they offered to comp us a free session but for now it was a trying...
Read moreAbsolute waste of money. Two of the headsets didn’t work and took up over 10 minutes of the 15 minutes slot we purchased to start (had hoped to upgrade) between one headset freezing and the other crashing several times, yet Caylen still informed us we had five minutes left. No acknowledgement that our play time was taken up by their broken machines and offer to extend our time. He didn’t seem to know what many of the games were either so wasn’t extremely helpful in helping us choose. But on top of that I complained that I paid for all this time to just go through your broken headsets and he didn’t apologize, didn’t offer to make it right, or even make eye contact, his only response was “I just work here.” I’m not complaining to complain, kid, I expect not to pay for that quite frankly - ten minutes for me to stand around trying to use a broken product? I literally got two minutes of gameplay. I get it he’s a kid, and it’s only $20, but just had higher expectations for this place after reading the reviews. Won’t be back and wouldn’t...
Read moreRolled in for the Alice in Wonderland VR escape room with two friends.
We were a little surprised to find it's just a bunch of VR headsets set up with steam accounts, but to be fair, that's a pricy setup to have at home.
Got set up quickly and were off to the races.
The escape room itself was fine, but nothing special. There's limited interactivity and the puzzles were ho hum. It didn't really take advantage of the VR aspect of things, and we were left wishing we'd just gone to a normal escape room given the cost. It feels weird that they charge more for an escape room when there's no additonal lift by them, but it is what it is.
The host running the event was way too insistent on holding our hands through everything. Thinking out loud resulted in him just telling you the answer, despite there being an explicit button to get hints. Would've like a button to NOT get hints by the end.
All in all, it was fine. It's a unique experience if you've never done VR before, but if you just wanna do a dope escape room,...
