A large group of us, seven adults and three kids, including a one year old, ate at Mesquite at the Warehouse last night and it was wonderful. The restaurant is spacious and has a great atmosphere, and the building is unique, sharing with an antique shop/gift shop. The staff was very accommodating, and our server, Sterling, was very attentive to our table, keeping up with scattered orders and restless kids. The drinks were well made, including the tasty espresso martini’s. As for the food, it was delicious!! The kitchen was even kind enough to split an order for two of my friends to share. We tried a lot of the apps, including the hush puppies, guac and chips, brisket queso, and crab cakes. For mains, my friends ordered the beet salad, flank iron steak, fried catfish, salmon, BBQ platter, and roasted veggie sandwich. The kids really enjoyed all the food, including the mac n cheese! I myself ordered the garden salad with brisket (pictured). Thank you Mesquite for an awesome dinner! It made my friend’s birthday even more special.

This was my second time at the restaurant. I need to say both times were a disappointment. The AC was broken, and from what I was reading in past reviews, not just for a couple of days, but what the server told us. It was crazy hot in there, what made the experience even worse. Let’s start with something positive: The beet salad was delicious. The rest of the food was lacking in flavor. I got the BBQ plate with chicken, ribs, and sausage. The best of the whole plate was the BBQ sauce. The sausage didn’t have any flavor, the ribs were dry and hard to get off the bone. My wife got a sandwich that she didn’t really like. The service was really slow, and we waited to be seated for 5 minutes at the host booth until we got someone. There were 3 other tables, but we still had to wait for a good while. The margarita was by far the worst margarita ever. It tasted like Walmart mix. If you want really good BBQ, I recommend Junebug’s at the Albert Hotel.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Mesquite at the Warehouse. We were absolutely blown away by the exceptional food, service, and atmosphere! I ordered the fresh Garden Salad. The salad tasted like it was harvested today, with crisp, fresh greens, juicy cherry tomatoes, and basil. It was truly a delight! My husband's smoked chicken sandwich was perfectly smoked, paired with creamy guacamole, cherry tomatoes, and arugula. The brisket queso dip is a must pick! It is served with homemade gluten friendly tortilla chips. Our server Valente, was informative, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The venue itself is a gem, with rustic touches and a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, Mesquite at the Warehouse is a must-visit destination in Fredericksburg, TX. With its outstanding food, exceptional service, and charming atmosphere, this restaurant is sure to become a favorite. They opened August 2024.

Mesquite at the Warehouse. When you Google BBQ near me. It brings up this restaurant. This is not a Texas BBQ restaurant. No BBQ restaurant that I’ve ever been to offers roast beef as a choice for their BBQ platter. The BBQ platter offers roast beef, sausage and ribs for $32. To get brisket as an option that’s an additional $8. Chicken is an additional $4. Comes with Cole slaw as a side. We ordered the brisket, sausage, and ribs. The brisket was bland and flavorless. No smoke taste, no char or bark. The brisket in my opinion was a precooked, presliced brisket. The sausage was unremarkable. It tasted like package sausage. No grill marks on it. Probably boiled. The ribs were bland and were probably cooked in a crock pot. There were no grill marks, no crust, or bark. The cornbread was burnt and tasted like the bottom of a skillet. We did order potato salad as a side for an additional $11 dollars. It was small new potatoes smothered in a vinegar based dressing. Unremarkable. To much vinegar. Our waitress must have been new. Really struggled with questions regarding the menu. Asked her if the BBQ was served with white bread. She responded yes. They served a ciabatta type bread with meal. Which not what we asked for. When asked about bread waitress became snippy. One of my friends with me asked her not to behave that way. She continued to be derogatory. My other friend asked her to please leave. Then the owner came to the table. She said that was her best waitress. If that was the best I’d hate to see the worst. Then owner asked us to leave. She said she would box the food for us. There was no need it wasn’t worth boxing. It’s apparent that this owner has no customer service skills. To immediately take her waitress side , without listening to the customer. Apparently she must have an enormous influx of customers that she doesn’t need what would have been at least $ 150 sale at their prices. So good luck! There are plenty of restaurants to chose from and Mesquite will be not one of them in my future. Word of mouth can be treacherous in the food business. Maybe try some customer...

2 stars because we had a phenomenal waitress and the restaurant did comp our steaks. Staff did inform us that the chef knew nothing about cooking steak AFTER ordering. Personally, I feel that it is theft to charge $70 for an 8oz filet that is cooked by a chef who ADMITTEDLY doesn’t know how to cook a steak….

We came here for a bachelorette dinner- 9 guests on a Saturday night at 7pm. We ordered drinks and appetizers, then main courses. 2 pairs were sharing, 1 wasn’t eating, so there were a total of 5 filets ordered. Quite a while after ordering, we were told there were only 4 filets. So, we switched to 4 filets + 1 NY strip. After about an hour steaks begin to come out, the NY strip and one filet was cooked correctly (ordered med. well). The rest were overcooked (ordered med rare, given medium well). Of course, they were out of filets so they couldn’t be remade. With the amount of time we waited there, we were very hungry and wouldn’t have waited another hour anyways. The mac and cheese was genuinely inedible, it tasted like an old batch that was reheated in a microwave and therefore all separated. One in our group happened to be pregnant, her meal didn’t get put in and they did not bring it out until around 30 minutes after we got the rest of the food. The owner did comp our steaks, but she didn’t take long to apologize and rushed from our table to “go get her kids”…but proceeded to stay in the back and laugh with the other staff while we were splitting our check up…because they wouldn’t split the check for us.

If I haven’t made it obvious, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Incredibly overpriced for the quality of food and overall just an...

As a both a food and bbq judge, I was excited to try this new restaurant I waited a few weeks to let them work out the kinks. I ordered the spinach salad and the BBQ platter.

Both the spinach salad and the slaw were outstanding. The salad could use more dressing. The typically amount is fine. But with the bacon dressing there is not much liquid because of the generous amount of bacon. A larger container for this dressing would be optimal. I expected the slaw to have peanuts since that is advertised in the appetizer. So was surprised that it was a different slaw.

The BBQ plate came with cornbread and the slaw. The cornbread was cold and not served with butter. It had a soft bottom and lacked a crispy crust. The flavor was ok.

The pork roast and the pork ribs were both good. The ribs had a nice smoke, but the bark was not there. The sauce is a bit sweet. I would skip the sausage. Not flavorful. The menu said the plate also came with fixings. But none accompanied my meal.

When I placed my order to go, I was offered no dessert menu. That is, overtime, a big loss in revenue.

Will I return? Yes. But I will order the salads and...
