I know it’s a motel and it’s not supposed to be the most perfect place, I only expected to use this place to rest my head and bathe for the 2 days I was in Hollywood (7/15-7/17) however my experience was unsatisfactory for the time I actually was there and I’m scarred from it . To get into my room I had to force open after unlocking it with the key My friend and I ran in the room to get dressed and go out because we are on vacation and wanted to utilize our time. since I knew I wasn’t leaving any valuables we didn’t thoroughly inspect the room and that was my mistake. My first night there we came in at about 2-3 in the morning I notice the top lock was broken but it looked like it’s been broken for some time. The bottom lock was broken as well. The main security for our door was the key card lock that still worked and the fact that you had to use full force to open it. My friend who’s from Florida said there’s usually something wrong with the motels and that’s why they’re cheap” so I said I’ll ask about it later. The next day as soon as I walked out my door I was completely locked out with the key cards in my hand. I had to drive 2 blocks to get them to unlock the door and when I inquired about the door the guy looked at me like he didn’t know what to do. So I said I’ll come back later because I was in a rush . Fast forward to 330 in the morning when My friend and I came back to the hotel I had ihop pancakes that I brought to the motel and my friend was changing to go to sleep she had to make it back early to Orlando then next day. As I put my pancakes in the microwave. I see the giant roach the biggest I’ve ever seen crawl from under the fridge and I Was mortified. I threw every shoe near me (pictured) at that roach (clearly I’m not a pro I missed). It ran under my bed and I called the front desk mentioned both the lock and the roach they said “ we can only send someone to kill the roach and clean the room we have no rooms available” I said ok I’ll wait they said 30 mins and never showed up. Essentially I paid for 2 days slept for 1. I dozed off barely slept & was out of there by 7:30 got to the 24hr front desk with a sign on there door that said will be back @ 7:00 AM nobody was there I had to check out via cell phone and before I could even speak about the room the woman said ok you’re checked out & hung up on me. I didn’t get my security deposit back Their customer service number price provides you with another number to call that doesn’t pick up. I brushed off everything else with the motel room because again it was supposed to be just for where I put my head down and the bed was comfortable at least; but the broken lock and the Roach...
Read moreGreat location, average rooms. The staff however was very rude. I stayed 2 separate times within a week, and each check-in process was very cold and distant, with the staff being pretty dissociated and not on the same page as their guests. On top of that, their breakfast is as dismal as it is stressful. Depending on where they put you on the property, it cpild be a pretty long walk down the block(s) to get there. 1 hour, from 8am-9am, guests are to cram into a walk-in closet sized room like a bunch of cattle to plate their sad breakfast options, only to walk outside with no place to sit due to the overcrowding. Because guests learn of this high volume and small window, guests are literally waiting, sitting at empty tables to reserve them in order to get in line for breakfast sooner, because of how they organize breakfast time. I've never seen this elsewhere, but with such a small window, I don't blame them.
ON TOP OF THAT, myself and several other guests witnessed a female guest being openly scolded by staff for taking a few plastic spoons/forks. An adult female guest, with her plate of breakfast food, taking a few plastic cutlery items for her and her kids, being yelled at by an employee. Is Silver Spray on THAT tight of a budget where they have employees doing this? Or was this hotel employee just that unhappy with herself that she felt the need to take her stress out on her guests? Absolutely sad. The guests are treated poorly. You get what you pay for I guess. Luckily this location is close enough to the beach with other shops/restaurants that have exceptionally...
Read moreTHe manager must have realized at 71, my exasperation with traveling showed. He moved me into a ground floor unit. It was not a unit but an APARTMENT. A small porch, yard area with chaise lounge, a 500 foot walk to the boardwalk and beach. A kitchenette (long stay, bring some utensils) which was clean and tidy. Smart thinking, left the refrigerator door open (mildew stopped). Mattress GREAT. Nice breakfast, ample. |Would I go again - - - oh yes! They own several buildings in a cluster, so pool swimming is shared. Atlantic was a tad brisk yet as I was just in from Jamaica where it warm. Great place for reading. Older crowd of 40+++ with a few twinks and tweens They have a small convenient store but I would strongly recommend that you stop at one of the large stores (WinDixie or WM) off the freeway and load up IF you are getting a kitchennete with your reservation. Might pick up or bring along a kettle, frying pan and whatever else you will need. |Listen, don't complain about utensils. I have had rentals and guests would take the flooring if they could I had one guy take a toilet seat. Go figure.|Enjoy. The beach is very close and 500 feet may not give you a front line view but it gives you peace and quiet because the walkway and beach and become quite noisey. Sorry no photos. OH, please realize that their rates are very reasonable. Want a view? Plan an extra $120 USD for it as well. Spend that saved on dinner and an...
