||Have been going to Hollywood Beach about 4 - 5 times a year for a few years now. We have stayed at three different locations over the years. Each just ok to good and weak to good as far as cleanliness and poor to medium service. |We prefer small "mom & pop" locations as each of these are. Such usually have better service.|Now to Yhe Marlin Beachside: First time I called the owner, Max, answered. He answered all questions and was not pushy or rushing to get off the phone. We then scheduled our stay on their website. Only their smallest room was available for our dates but we wanted to try a new place.|First impressions are it is just a few feet from the Broadway and the beach. A bit North of the Charnow park. So you are away from the masses and it is quiet. But a four minute walk gets you to the action. The hotel looks straight out of the 1950's in a superb way. Super bright white, green trim and red lettering and just as cool at night with the color accent lighting. Exterior and walkways ate clean an clear. Cool glass/marble looking papers for the pathways. The landscaping is clear, well designed and well maintained. Now the room: just two small steps to the door having handrails better than most hospitals. Doors and windows are fully glassed for plenty of light but gave good shades for privacy. Door had a good lock and weather tight seal. Open the door: Wow! No bad smell of moisture, mold & mildew (we have even had sewage smells at other places. But NOT here, just fresh air, not bleach or chemicals, just fresh. Inside: WHITE everything is white. White walls, white cabinets, white marble floors, white bed linens... no idea how thet keep it so clean... but it was CLEAN (thank you Francia!). All the appliances we needed again clean, even the toaster. And they were top quality appliances not Lowe's or Wal-Mart. Same for the bathroom; clean and top quality European fixtures with plenty of hot water and pressure. The air conditioning kept my wife plenty cool and me freezing. Only additional contact we needed was to find out the laundry room procedure. Texted Max and got a response within four minutes with the solution and the statement: "We are here for you".||Bottom line: The Marlin Beachside with Max and Feancia is our new go to place at...
Read moreCame back home to S. Fl. under some stressful family health relate issues with my mom. Called about 1/2 before I was to finally arrive, as I'm aware that most small mom n pop motels are not manned full time. Bernadette was great! Called back quickly and met me at the Marlin in no time. I asked for a cold a/c and no smell of smoke or mold, as I am fully experienced with these 3 things being all too common;even in larger hotels. It's Florida afterall. We are humid. The building is older and could use more updating but everything you need was pretty much there. Refrigerator, stove, toaster, pots, pans, etc. My room didn't have a coffee maker but ask and you will receive! No fancy little shampoos or or cute little unnecessary designer clutter. Very clean, no surprise bugs or added on costs. Many places advertised cheaper costs and then add on "resort fees" of $50!!, and $15/ nite parking, No added coat for a pet either. If you trash the place, I suppose you will be charged. I never borrowed a great beach cruiser to get in some early AM biking on the broadwalk. Peddled down to breakfast at Broadstreet cafe. A little more money than some other places and less than others. Consistently good. Sunrise, wind, ocean,.. an older guy doing yoga headstands, a one armed man biking, a one legged man getting in his morning walk on crutches and yet another working his wheelchair. (Full disclosure, these things thrill me because I'm a therapist, lol). It's not south beach, no nude bathers or supermodels. I couldn't bring myself to leave and stayed one more night. Dropped off my bike, grabbed some coffee to go and was wishing I never had to go to work again. Thanks for everything Bernadette! Already planning...
Read moreI recently spent two delightful nights at The Marlin Beachside in early February, and I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The rooms are not only clean but also boast a modern aesthetic. Upon my arrival, I found beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and beach towels waiting for me in my room. The location is unbeatable—just one building stands between The Marlin and Hollywood Beach! It was the perfect spot to wander along the Hollywood boardwalk, savor a morning coffee, and soak in the pristine beach.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I had a late afternoon flight, and they graciously provided an alternate room where I could store my luggage after checking out, until my 2 PM Uber arrived.
After extensive research and reading numerous reviews on other accommodations in the Hollywood Beach area, I can wholeheartedly recommend The Marlin Beachside to anyone seeking a fantastic quiet location next to the beach at an excellent price.
SUNDAY CHECK-INS: Just a quick note for those planning a Sunday check-in — the office is closed on Sundays. However, there’s a sign on the door with instructions to call the Emergency Check-In phone number. When I did, a staff member promptly met me outside with my room key. Interestingly, I noticed a couple staying on the second level who were unaware of the Sunday check-in process and had been enjoying themselves in the Florida sun for a few hours while they figured out how to check in. As I was heading to the beach, I shared the emergency check-in...
