Island Colony — Hotel in Honolulu

My sis and I visit there on the 24th of September. First time to visit Hawaii 😁.

First of all, the room my sister and I stayed in smelled dank (because the carpet was wet and it smelled like old rug), the tub was NOT CLEAN AT ALL (had mildew by the drainage area and the water wasn't going down properly), the hallway always had this smell, like trash (sometimes) and something else, I just can't figure it out 🤢😷. Secondly, the 2nd night we stayed, we had to go to a different room due to the battery, for the key, was dead. It took 2 hours to get that settled (it was after midnight), and we had to wake up SUPER early for our outing the next day. I was EXHAUSTED 😩😑😮‍💨. But the lady who worked that night was VERY helpful, and she did everything possible to get this situated and made sure my sister and I had a new room (I did get my service fee refunded back to me) and the other guy who took over made sure we got all our luggage out tye other toom safe n sound 😁👍🏾. Thirdly, the roaches inside the hotel rooms but didn't see not ONE outside the hotel surroundings, hmmm.....so there for, this place has a SERIOUS pest control problem 👎🏾. I live in the desert, and I do see nature bugs around houses, and they find a way inside. But THESE TYPE OF ROACHES are the ones where the area is dirty, has mildew somewhere, has trash in the area, or just anything disgusting within the area. Those types of roaches should NOT BE INSIDE ANY HOTEL ROOMS......PERIOD 🙅🏾‍♀️🚫!

Love the people who were the front receptionist 🥰. They were very kind, sweet, and helpful, but the hotel overall wasn't it for me. Sorry, not...

We arrived Friday late afternoon and immediately noticed velcro backing on the walls where it appeared wall hangings were missing which gave the room a very run down look (definitely not as nice as the photos). Saturday we found that the refrigerator/freezer was not working (lights all came on but no cooling), thus causing us to lose the food we stored in the refrigerator. Tried to get the check in people to get a repair going, but they told us we had to contact the company (Lei Realty) and did not receive an answer until Monday morning. Finally Tuesday afternoon, they replaced the refrigerator (we were leaving Friday, so half of our visit we had no refrigerator). Requested some compensation since we were not getting what we paid for and to help cover the spoiled food, and still no answer. Two weeks later, we are still waiting on our damage deposit to be refunded as we left the room clean and damage free (we have before and after videos). I don't think we will be staying at any Lei Realty...

It was great hotel for a quick getaway! They had a ps3 in the room so my kids enjoyed it and they had a free game for the night. One game allowed. Check in was fast, the room had two beds, a little kitchenette area microwave, ice box, and some utensils. the room was good and unfortunately we didn't enjoy dwimming in the pool because it was closed for maintenance. The other reason why we went to the hotel. Jacuzzi was open though. Although we did went to another hotel for the pool, so it was okay, only my son enjoyed it by himself. Servixe was fast even checking us out. We paid $25 for parking and that was for only one night. We did get a discount from the hotel $5 off the $30 parking. Overall experience...
