I was extremely disappointed in the tour. If you're not on the right side of the boat then there's no point in taking the tour. We arrived 20 mins early.... yet the boat was loaded already and the talk had already started. It was my mom and son with me and we could not even sit together. We all sat in different rows... which is ridiculous. We spent $200 for a family activity that we couldn't enjoy as a family. None of us could see the mail being delivered because only people on the right side can see. What really ruined it for me was how rude the one girl was. I turned my chair a little bit to try and see better and she told me I couldn't do that. She scolded people for standing up. Someone asked if they could ask her a question and she took longer to explain why they couldn't ask her a question then to just answer it. I can understand safety but they had no problem trying to get you to buy food and drinks. So you could stand up and walk around to spend money and purchase alcohol but you couldn't stand up for 30 secs see what you paid for? We should've just done the regular scenic tour. I understand there are challenges with the set up but they should at least allow everyone to see one or Mail Drop.... The monitor in front of us kept glitching out.... To spend $200 and not be able to see what we paid for.......
Read moreThis is a great tour of Lake Geneva and fun watching the mail delivered via boat. It’s worth the price given the 2.5 hr tour time. The entire process is very organized. Meter parking is close by and about $4 per hour. There are restrooms on the boat as well as well as the main area you walk through prior to boarding. Boarding is 30 min before departure but I’d get there 60 min early to get the best seats. Whether you set on top (open but covered) or bottom (closed) is up to you but either way be sure to sit on the right side of the boat to better see the homes and mail delivery. They sell snacks and have a cash bar on the boat but you are also allowed to bring your own snacks/beverages if you want. The only downside is the chairs are very uncomfortable so you may want to bring a cushion...
Read moreJust got off the mail boat tour and I have to say our party of 4 was highly disappointed. The historical narration and view of the mansions was interesting, but because we sat on the left side of the boat, we could not see or participate in the laughter, applause, and fun of watching the mail being delivered. We were relegated to trying to see it on a tv monitor while everyone on the right side of the boat saw the whole shebang. Somehow I felt cheated out of an experience I paid for and was hoping to have. I don’t know if there is anything they can do about it, except make everyone switch sides halfway through. All this to be warned, if you don’t sit on the right side of the boat, you’re not going to see the mail jumpers. Get there super...
