I made an order online through their website. Set a time for pick up, and when I got there, they said they never got my order. And it was about 140.00 total I paid for my order. There prices are very reasonable, so I ordered a lot of food. The woman at the register said their computer wasn't working and that is why they never received my order. I told her how much I paid and the time I scheduled my pick up again. I was a bit frustrated, and she could see that. I suggested I give her my order and have them make it as quickly as possible, and the woman at the register agreed that was the thing to do. I looked through the menu, and told her everything I had ordered, as she'd yell to the kitchen each item, the second I told her each dish. The kitchen was amazing, as they had everything prepared and packed up within 10 minutes. Literally. The woman at the counter gave me an extra dish for free. She also gave me a free fountain drink while I waited. She was extremely apologetic, very helpful, and very gracious to instruct the kitchen to prepare everything so quickly. She was also very nice and polite. She really took care of the problem in the best way she could, and I found it so professional and impressive. I went home and took all the dishes out of the to-go bags, an dI wondered how the quality would be since they made the order so quickly. Let me tell you, the food was DELICIOUS, FRESH, WARM, and was very well presented. I mean every dish I ordered was AMAZING! The best Dim Sum I have had in Los Angeles, aside from a favorite Dim Sum restaurant in Chinatown. Everything tasted so delicious, I was very impressed. Even though there was a big mix up and they never received my online order, and even though I had to wait a little bit of time for everything to be prepared, I must give ixlb 5 stars. I give them 5 stars for their incredible ability to turn a difficult situation around, and deliver an amazing meal and experience in a very short time, with extremely pleasant, professional service. I wish I would have asked the woman at the register her name so that I could mention her here. Again, her ability to correct a big mistake so professionally and in short time, was impressive and exactly what a restaurant should do when a situation arrises. Job well done ixlb!! Bravo!! I think she must have been the owner too. ixlb DimSum Eats is woman owned, so I am sure she must have been the owner. I highly recommend ixlb DimSum Eats if you are in the Hollywood area or surrounding neighborhoods. You will be Happy...
Read moreI passed by this place on Sunset Blvd and thought I will have to go there before I leave LA. I’m so glad I did! Popped in there for dinner one night & ordered veggie dumplings and veggie steamed buns and OMG! I thought I had the best before, but these topped my top dumplings for sure! That soft, chewy texture when you bite in is enough to make you want to do a dumpling dance! The flavours were full, robust, and make you want all the dumplings! The sauces were fanfreakingtastic, especially the hot sauce! The staff was so busy running around the kitchen, but they did it with ease & finesse. I assume the super cute older man & woman were the owners, he served me at the till with a smiling, welcoming air, and she was helping the kitchen staff as she was dressed to the nines! Her hair was perfectly coiffed, her purple dress suit pressed to perfection & her makeup was on point as she helped get the orders ready alongside the well oiled machine of a team they had in the kitchen. The image of the professional flow they had going for all to see leaves as lasting of an impression as their delicious dumplings do. I wish I lived in LA, I would be here as often as I could. If you’re visiting nearby, make sure you stop in before you leave. If you live nearby, get over there...
Read moreGood enough for the Westside but wouldn't recommend it for the real connoisseurs. Note that there's no indoor or outdoor seating. Even in non-PLANdemic times, there isn't indoor seating. Here's a breakdown:
Scallion Pancakes - not a fan of their version, which is thick and tasteless. The cook had to fry it longer, making the outside harder and more burnt. This was meant to be a light snack and delicately layered.
Xiao LongBao - better than Tin Dai Fung. They didn't give me ginger as a condiment, which is a shame. Still not memorable enough for me to return.
Char Siu Bao (steamed)- the worse of them all. Ingredients were poorly-blended and of low-quality. I've gotten it better frozen from a supermarket.
Siu Mai - large and juicy but taste was just decent, nothing memorable.
Har Gow - decent, nothing memorable.
Egg Custard - Probably the best out of all these. It was very soft with a balanced sweetness.
Location: Free parking lot in the back but it's next to smelly dumpsters where homeless people like to gather. There's metered street parking. B/c this entire place is boarded up, one could easily miss it. Conveniently located by...
