Stayed for our honeymoon here, I believe in one of the suites and I have to say it is super nice. Lots of details that were nice and I could see were thought about. The lobby was decorated very nicely (think 1920's but in a modern, sleek way while still holding that artistic flare) and overall feel of it was nice and the fact that it didn't have to many floors was great! We had chocolate waiting for us when we arrived (seems to be regular for the room since it was hotel chocolate) and it was very thoughtful that they provide you with a small water bottles (other hotels I've been to don't and others have).
Our room had remote controlled drapes, two TV's one in the living room area (which had a nice large sofa, good for cuddling), two sinks (one located in the bathroom and another out), and a small fridge with of course hotel snacks and drinks. The breakfast was okay, expected a bit more since of the price we were paying per night (it included your regular pastries like Danishes, muffins, croissants, ect. Cereal, fruit, hardboiled eggs, coffee and tea, ect., but the time was nice (8-10:30 am).
Location was nice, although a lot of the restaurants around the area were quite expensive but, its expected in Miami and luckily this hotel is literally 1 block away from the 12th street beach entrance which is also a LGBT Friendly Beach which was also quite nice. Its also located about 2 blocks down from a Walgreens and if your willing to walk another 10-15 minutes (maybe 20 if your slow) a CVS as well as various gift shops.
The downside about the hotel itself are as followed, its super expensive. Now hear me out, not that hotels aren't expensive but, it seemed everything was priced in the room. The beach Towels I believe were 25.00 or 50.00 and the small little coffee packets were also priced quite heavily (first hotel I've been to where they charge you for that even). Another thing incase your planning on ordering room service, they don't have it (I don't personally mind but, others might). Location isn't country side quiet but it isn't suburbia quiet either. Not super noisy so doable but, if your a light sleeper you might be annoyed by it (you'll hear people talking very loud or cars playing loud music going by every now and then but, overall its very manageable). They give you a nice array of hotel bath products (soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, body gel, ect.) but.... you might consider bringing your own soap. It smells super nice (I smell citrus essential oils in their shampoo, soap and conditioner) but, it also might leave your skin a bit slimy since it is made of olive oil also I believe (guess its good for the skin there because of the climate). Once I towel dried though it was fine but, for you air dryers out there, just be mindful. The main thing I would of love to see that would of made me give it 1 more star that I have yet to see in all but 1 hotel I've stayed in is a lack of microwave. I like using it since sometimes I like to bring food back since its to much so I can eat it later but, unfortunately I couldn't here either...
Overall I'd recommended this hotel if your planning to stay in Miami and if its just a husband and wife. I couldn't give this a good recommendation if your a family with young children however since I didn't see any at the hotel so I'm not sure how younger children would enjoy this place. If your planning to stay on a smaller budget though, its good to compare prices with...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Rude Staff, Broken Amenities, and No Accountability from Management!”|Rating: 1/10||My stay at The Marlin Hotel was an absolute nightmare, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. For the premium price I paid, I expected luxury, comfort, and excellent service, but what I received was far from it. If you’re thinking about booking here, don’t—save your money and your sanity!||I stayed at this hotel from January 17–22, 2025, booking a corner suite, a premium deluxe room, and a suite, spending over $2400for the first three nights alone and additional $700 for one room for 3 more nights. What I got in return was a string of frustrating issues and appallingly rude service.||The problems began in Room 107:| • The lights didn’t work, leaving the room dark and uncomfortable.| • The TV didn’t work, so there was no way to relax with entertainment after a long day.| • The internet was completely unreliable, making it impossible to work or even use my devices properly.||When I approached the front desk to report these issues, I was met with the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered. His name was John, and his attitude was downright hostile. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he acted as though I was inconveniencing him by even bringing them up. He was dismissive, rude, and completely uninterested in helping resolve the problems. It’s hard to believe someone so ill-suited for customer service is working at the front desk of a so-called luxury hotel.||As if that weren’t bad enough, when I moved to the biggest suite very nice though I need to admit from January 20–22, there were two TVs in the room, but only one worked. The TV in the bedroom was completely broken, which was incredibly inconvenient and disappointing. For a hotel charging these kinds of rates, I expect everything to work flawlessly—and certainly more than half the amenities in my room.||But here’s the real kicker: I emailed management about these issues, expecting a prompt and professional response. Instead, I got nothing. Not a single reply. This level of disregard and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. It’s clear that management doesn’t care about their guests or their experiences.||To be fair, the restaurant staff, housekeeping, and maintenance teams were excellent. The restaurant food was fantastic, the housekeeping staff kept the rooms spotless, and one kind gentleman at reception did help me set up the working TV in my suite. But unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the terrible service from John and the complete failure of management to address my concerns.||Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely not. The rude staff, broken amenities, and complete lack of accountability from management make this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a truly luxurious hotel where guests are treated with respect and everything actually works.||If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid The Marlin Hotel at all costs. There are plenty of better options in Miami where you won’t have to deal with this level of frustration...
