Hello.||||I want to report Viajero Miami, located on 1120 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, 33149 for refusing to refund me two nights that I paid for and they, for NO REASON, refused to do business with me, so I didn’t stay there for the last two nights and had to look for another place to stay. ||||What happened was: they offer in their rate towel for guests. I got back from the beach today, cover in sand. Wet and cold and they said they had “no” towels available. SHEILA that attended me was super rude since the beginning of the conversation, telling me in a very rude way that they didn’t have any towel and that they had to idea of when they were going to have towels. She was rude since her first word and obviously enough I stared being rude back. I told them I was going to wait for a towel at the reception and then funnily enough, a clean towel appeared out of no where in less than 5 minutes. When SHEILA was giving me the towel, I thanked her and was leaving and then she tried to lecture me which obviously I did not allow her to do that as I am not a kid and most importantly not her kid . So we ended up having a little argument. We were basically talking over each other. During this moment I NEVER threatened her, NEVER called her names, NEVER screamed, the only thing I kept on saying was: “you were rude first, you were rude first” and that was all!||||I went to take my shower peacefully and once I was out, I was surrounded by 5 cops! FIVE!!! They treated like a criminal, they gave me 5 minutes to pack and thrown me literally on the street, with 3 suitcases and no where to go in the busiest week of the year in Miami.||||I never felt so humiliated and mistreated in my whole 45 years of life.||||I am a kind, friendly and respectful person, all the rest of the staff knows me and were really nice to me. They can testify what I am saying, talk to the cleaner of my room (208), they will confirm my character!||||I want my REFUND for the two nights that I did NOT stay there because they refused to do business with me, with NO explanation so if they refused to do business for the last two nights, I want my refund for my two nights, it is just simple and that fair! I had to find a place in a Saturday when the town is packed and pay a much more higher price.||||I am going after my rights here in the USA. They cannot do that to people. I filled a police report and share if requested.||||You can and should definitely talk to any staff or any guest there right now and they will backup what I am writing here. I have many witnesses that will prove that whatever SHEILA said is not true and she lied!||||I don’t want to fight and honestly I just want to move on from the most frightening situation of my life so please just refund my money!||||I recorded the whole situation and can share if requested and will use for legal purposes.||||I did NOT disrespect the staff, I had this misunderstanding with ONLY SHEILA, and I did NOT threat anyone, I did NOT threat SHEILA.||||They refused to reimburse me by alleging that they couldn’t find another guest to fulfill these two nights but this is NOT true! I have my friend that was in the same room that can testify that right after I left, they came over, changed the bed sheets and there was a new guest in the same night.||||Sheila is a lier, she lied and I can prove! Can she prove what she said??? I doubt it!||||And to be fair, other than SHEILA, which cowardly enough, refused to give me her full name (I wonder why, if she was right…), the rest of the staff was amazing, nice, friendly and...
Read moreThe Stiles Hotel is a newly renovated hotel after The Nash. So most reviews over a year ago do not apply to The Stiles Hotel.
The room is fairly nice considering that it is on South beach in one of the art deco buildings. The outside is gorgeous as you can see and the rooms are clean and modern. Room 214 was fairly clean with barely any chips or cracks on anything compared to other rooms like 305. We got a chance to see 305 because we were considering switching rooms since our shower drain was clogged (that was solved immediately). Room 305 was a bit run down with some nicks and chips here and there and it was quite smaller than our room but same furniture and everything as you see in the pictures.
Bed: The bed was clean and very comfy. Fell asleep right away every time with no problems. You can hear noise from outside but that didn't bother us too much, we had the TV before we fell asleep. Expect a lot of people partying and screaming outside along with loud sports cars because that is just South Beach.
Bathroom: The bathroom is the only thing in the room that did not get renovated and it seems to apply to probably all bathrooms in the Stiles. It was pretty disappointing since it isn't as "clean" looking as the rest of the room. The tiles and grout need to be redone. We can't blame them cause its a fairly new business but hopefully they will be able to renovate the bathrooms soon. Other than that, we liked it. It had a nice big walk in shower with a glass door covering half the shower. The toilet was new and the sink I believe came from the previous hotel.
Amenities: We were provided with new shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap bar every day. Fresh new towels were given daily also. 2 free water bottles. A vault to store important goods. Room was cleaned and bed was made everyday if you place the "We've been dirty sign" on the door outside. Flat screen tv with good channels. There are 3 pools on the side patio. One of them is a hot tub. They give you free complimentary breakfast every morning as long as you are staying there. The breakfast choices are coffee, toast, croissant with butter and jam. They make it and toast it all up for you so you will be sitting restaurant style in their front porch. They also provide towels for you at the front desk in case you need it for the beach or for the pool.
Location: Was great. You are only one block/street away from Ocean Drive and Espanola Way on Washington. Collins Ave is pretty busy with tourists and people so walking around this area is fairly safe. Restaurants everywhere and a lot of partying/clubbing to do if you're into that kind of thing. But most importantly, the beach is one block down and it is gorgeous. You can walk the whole south beach area if you wanted to.
Transportation: Bus system sucks in Miami. They come every 30 minutes and you have to wait forever. Sometimes the buses don't even stop at your stop and you have to flag it down. But hey, they work and take you places. Taxis are always available and almost everywhere.
All in all, we got use to our room and started to love it more and more each day. It was our home and comfort zone for the 5 days we were there. Look forward to a video on my hotel room just so you can get a feel of the hotel and what...
Read moreIf you are in search of the worst hotel in the Miami Beach, I'd like to suggest The Stiles Hotel as it is an extremely competitive candidate in all aspects. Gifted with a great location, this hotel has literally done nothing right. The building was poorly maintained and the staff was hostile.
Unfortunately, I spent one night at The Stiles Hotel in April 2022. The nightmare started from the very moment of checking in. Booked the hotel via Priceline.com, there was some miscommunication between the website and the hotel. The girl at the front desk claimed that there was $26 deficiency in the amount they received and she insisted me to pay the gap, which was obviously ridiculous. After wasting more than an hour, the issue was finally resolved between them and I was give a room with a broken shower with only hot water.
With all the hassle at checking in, it was almost midnight when I noticed the shower issue. I went to the front desk right away to report it hoping that it could be resolved timely so that a shower before bed was still possible. On the shift was a night auditor whose name is Chase. It seems that he was not amused by the issue I was facing. At first, he simply tried to get rid of me by stating that it could only be resolved the next morning when the maintenance team came back to work. I immediately rejected it since it is nonsense that a customer at a hotel has no access to shower. He then awkwardly claimed that all the private rooms were booked for the night and I would have been unwilling to take a shower in a shared room that he was staying had he offered me this option. It was true that I'd be unhappy to shower in a shared room given that I paid for a private room. However, comparing to the situation of no shower, I'd rather take one anywhere. What's bizarre was that after I informed him my willingness he found a spare private room which was not open to public due to some issue. However, he insisted me to switch to that room and claimed that it would be easier for me and the hotel, which was both ridiculous and offensive. I've unpacked my stuff in the old room. How was it easier for me to move to another room. Besides, it was known that the new room had an issue for which I wasn't given any detail. Why would I knowingly take a problematic room with unknown issue to me? I insisted to just take a shower in that room. Out of nowhere, Chase told me that in that case I only had 10 minutes in the new room. Being puzzled, exhausted and disappointed, I didn't want to waste another second with him. I took the shower, went back to my room, checked out the first thing next morning and swore to never come back.
On the bright side, staying at The Stiles Hotel truly makes staying at other hotels enjoyable. Other than shower temperature not adjustable, the shower faucet was broken, the drain stopper was missing, and the walls in the room was full of visible patches. If I were told that there was a gun fight in the room, I'd believe it. In addition, they charge $51 for overnight parking. As a reference, the top hotel in the Miami Beach "1 Hotel South Beach" charges $50 for valet parking. I am just puzzled that with such bad infrastructure, poor service and hostile staff where the owner gets the nerve to charge such...
