WARNING! There is a $38 non refundable security deposit or a $100 REFUNDABLE security deposit credit card hold upon check in. I booked through Expedia which didn't apply. This was my first stay here. Parking near entrance reminded me of Honolulu Hawaii. Very tight entrance and parking garage is only good for compact cars and small vehicles. WARNING! LARGE PASSENGER VANS AND LIFTED VEHICLES WONT FIT in this parking garage. They need ENTER & EXIT signs above parking garage openings. Free shared parking garage with pass. Lobby was medium sized. Gym was tiny could rarely hold 10 ppl inside. 19 floor resort. I stayed on the 17th floor standard room with microwave, toaster, deep sink kitchen area, with utensils and plates and cups, small fridge, dvd player (which didn't work), shower with tub, oceanview 2 queen beds with balcony. Very small living quarters. I was unable to load the luggage carrier inside the room because the room was so small. Balcony would only fit 3 ppl comfortably. Views were amazing..oceanview. Nice and quite location. I loved the pool and outdoor area. Very nice compared to those resorts nearby. 3 elevators. Stairwell was clean along with lobby area. Bathrooms in the lobby are stayed clean and fresh. Breakfast was the main reason why I booked this resort. Overall the breakfast was a 4 out a 5. I just wished they had BACON! LOL. I stayed here late October for 3 nights. I wanted to extend my stay. I will return for another getaway for sure. Housekeeping was very courteous but they are only available in the morning for room turnover. Front desk staff was very courteous and friendly.

Recently visited The Strand on an overnight trip to Myrtle Beach. My family and I had a blast. The lobby was super clean and had every facility a person could ask for. In fact, with their hot tub, swimming pool, beach front location, work out facilities, and dining amenities, it would be pretty easy to have an enjoyable vacation without leaving the property. The breakfast featured scrambled eggs, sausage, awesome home fries, and great biscuits and gravy. I mean they were better than my grandmas (though I’d never tell her). Our room was spacious and balcony features seating and a table for long sits with ocean view. We also appreciated the waterproof bracelet keys that allowed easy access to rooms and facilities without keeping track of key cards. We arrived a little before our room was ready but were allowed to use the parking deck and pool while our room was prepared. In the meantime, desk clerk James was professional and had such a cheerful and jovial energy that it felt more like interacting with an old friend. We had a slight problem with our room that hotel manager Chris Styles also fixed in record speed, leaving us beyond satisfied with our stay. On my next trip to Myrtle Beach, The Strand will most definitely be my first choice. The accommodations, the amenities, and superb staff all give the hotel resort incredible value for the money.

I must say that for what I paid to stay here for the week, I was pleasantly surprised! I stayed there in October 2021 for the week of my birthday. It was my very first time traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and this place did not disappoint! What I will tell you, in advance, is that you should understand that these rental units are exactly that: They are rental units and/or co-ops owned by other people. The people who own these units rent them out during peak seasons. I just thought it was worth mentioning that. Overall, my experience there was great! As you'll see from the photos, the property, both internally and externally, was very neat and well-kept. Even though some of the furniture is a bit dated and the property has seen better days–since these kinds of things happen with older properties–I can tell you that the view from my room and the location were well worth it. I am confident that if you stay at The Strand, you will not be disappointed! My room was very clean and the linens were fresh. I didn't find any debris or trash littered about in my room, in the hallways, in the lobby area, or even near the front entrance! My bathroom was spotless! I was very happy. Should I visit Myrtle Beach again in the future, there would be no doubt in my mind I would stay here. You won't regret staying at this place! Give it a try.

I give hotel 3.5 stars. PROs: - The view is fabulous. The beach is right there, which is great. Please note that you cannot have any kind of tent on the beach. Umbrellas only. That's a Myrtle Beach rule, not a hotel rule btw, but since the beach comes with the hotel, I thought I would mention it. Free breakfast included. Other reviews state that the breakfast was lousy, but I thought it was decent. It wasn't gourmet, but it was hot. Mostly packaged items of what you'd find in your grocery freezer aisle. Free parking. I had no trouble with the garage. We are in a sedan. Mostly nice staff, with the exception of the mean lady with the brown hair (who really should be FIRED) and the random people who literally just sit there and watch you, meanwhile with an hour+ wait check-in time. One of the ladies got snippy when I was checking out. She told me "check out over there," but then got very snarky the second time and told me "you need to just put your bracelet in the BASKET OVER THERE." That is not what you said the first time. CONs: The elevators really needed an air vent or something. The second elevator was also broken one of the days, which caused a huge problem. The housekeeping staff needs to learn what the word "housekeeping" actually means. Do not expect anything other than being given a towels, e.g. getting toiletries (including toilet paper), making your bed, picking up any dirty towels off the floor, or vacuuming. I finally figured out that if I left a note each day, they would leave the items that I needed. (This was of course after waiting over an hour in the front desk line to deal with the woman who should be fired to get some shampoo.) The room was also worn out and many things needed to be fixed: the remote controllers were broken, so we couldn't watch the television unless we got up and manually switched the channel (too 1980s for me!), the knives were dull, the alarm clock was just flat-out broken, you couldn't use the tub to take a bath, the oven gave me a second degree burn by using the handle (it was definitely NOT up to code), my comforter had a big hole in it, my sheets had some kind of ink stain on it, and several outlets were not functioning. The bed was also super uncomfortable. I woke up in the middle of the night two nights with a terrible back ache from the bed. The fitness center is downright bad, but fortunately, there is a Planet Fitness nearby if you have their Black Card membership. They also have daily rates. Lastly, we weren't able to sit outside on our porch because of all the pot and cigarette smoking. They advertise "absolutely no smoking," but this was not the case. I don't care if other people smoke, but c'mon, you don't have to literally do it from the start of the day to the end of the day. It got to the point where we couldn't even open the...

After reading several reviews about this hotel I was a little concerned about what I was getting myself into. All my fears were unfounded the minute I walked into the lobby. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 a.m. hoping to check in early. Our room wasn't ready yet but Jenn at the front desk found us a room that was the same as ours that was available immediately. Great start. As we entered our room I was a little leary as to what I would find. What I found was a very well appointed room with a fridge, sink, toaster and coffee maker, along with flatware, dishes and glasses for our use. Everything was clean and well appointed. Yes, it is an older hotel and probably could use a little decor updating but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. The free breakfast was a nice perk. It's was your typical hotel (hot) breakfast with a reasonable amount of variety. All items were well stocked and monitored by the staff for replenishing. The pool and surrounding area was clean and well maintained. Steps away was the beautiful beach with umbrellas and lounge chairs for rent. The bar/restaurant area was small but sufficient with a select menu of mostly hand held items. Everything we had there was very good. The crowning glory was our bartender, George. He was very efficient about making sure our food and drinks were replenished when needed and engaged in conversation with us when things weren't hectic. He made us feel very welcome. The free hotel shuttle was a great perk, taking us to any of the restaurants or attractions in the area that we desired as well as to and from the airport. Another perk was the fact that we could use the amenities at their sister hotel (The Breakers) which was a short walk away. We enjoyed the lazy river at the Breakers. There was also a D.J. there but he was a little loud for our liking. We are in our 70's so I'm sure it was fine for the younger crowd. All in all we had a wonderful time and would not...

The hotel did not have a bicycle rack so the desk clerk told me keep the bikes on my vehicle , bikes were stolen.|. (E bike and 10 speed)|The Strand shares a parking garage with the Patricia Grand Hotel next-door. Neither hotel will take responsibility for stolen items. |They only have two cameras protecting the entire parking garage. Apparently security does not Patrol the garage much. We parked our car at 10:30 in the evening and went out at 5:30 P.m. the next day to find the bicycle rack, dismantled and scattered across the garage floor.| if security would have drove through they would have surely seen a problem.|With camera equipment being fairly inexpensive to install and use, one would think the two hotels using the garage would do more to prevent theft.|Although the managers of both hotels were apologetic, they didn’t really seem to care enough to do anything to stop the crime that had been happening in their garage .|They have had cars broken into in the past, but neglected to provide better security.||(When we were walking through the garage one day after parking, we noticed six Kids using the garage to skateboard. )||We contacted the police. They visited the Patricia grand but we’re not able to access the video at that time. No one followed up to view and try to catch the hoodlums police never called us back hotel never offered us to view video. We went back to Pittsburgh and nobody cares if the garage is Safe or seems to be going to do anything to help cover our loss they will not offer us a free weekend stay or any compensation| I would recommend they put in a bicycle rack between the two hotels so bikes can be locked in a public area with high traffic And they provide security to drive through the garage every few hours to discourage people from causing harm to their guest. Our bikes were locked but it did not stop the crime.|The hotels can do something about it but don’t care...
