The food was great and those serving the food did great. We had a “free” breakfast here each morning as part of our vacation package and each morning some of us ordered coffee and orange juice (the juice was more like a shot of juice and not a regular size drink) and the 4 kids in our group ordered chocolate milk all week and received a regular size cup with a proper lid to fit a straw. Our last day we had a “Karen” as our waitress and wouldn’t give us coffee and juice. We could only pick one and my husband got a juice and it was still the “shot glass” size! The kid’s’ chocolate milk came in a very small to go coffee cup with a coffee cup lid that didn’t have a place for a straw. My daughter spilled her’s while trying to open it to drink. When I asked for a refill for my son she (Tracey) said she would have to charge us. When I mentioned what we had received all week instead, she said, “That’s our policy. The other servers should have given you what I gave you. They just want a better tip. I’d rather sleep at night knowing I did the right thing and be broke.” When I mentioned that maybe the right thing would be to serve us what we had been given all week and punish the other servers and not the customers, she got the manager. I nicely explained everything to the manager including how my daughter spilled her drink in the non-kid friendly cup, the manager said the same thing the waitress did except she was more condescending. Zero customer service. I can see if we had been given the incorrect sized once and they apologized and explained the policy. I wouldn’t have made a fuss. But the attitude from the waitress AND the manager just flew all over me. We actually heard the waitress, Tracey, the morning before speaking very loud to a bus boy, complaining about all kinds of things about the other staff. We even said to one another how unprofessional that was. Just our luck, we had her as our waitress this morning. We ended up giving her what she wanted. She’d rather go to bed broke than to get a big tip for, what is basically good customer service in our case. No tip. And we are usually very good tippers even with not so...

Nestled in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Magnolias at 26th stands out as a top choice for buffet dining, particularly for breakfast enthusiasts. Having dined there this past weekend, I can confidently say that it remains my favorite spot for a hearty morning meal.
The breakfast buffet is a highlight, especially for those who prefer alternatives to traditional pork offerings. Magnolias at 26th excels in providing delicious options such as turkey bacon and turkey sausage, catering to diverse dietary preferences. The quality of the food is commendable, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes that make for a satisfying start to the day.
One aspect that truly sets this restaurant apart is the exceptional service. The waitstaff is attentive and accommodating, exemplified by a thoughtful gesture where they took my turkey bacon to the kitchen to fry it extra crispy, ensuring it was prepared to my liking. This kind of personalized service enhances the dining experience, making guests feel valued and well cared for.
However, I must address a concern that affected the overall atmosphere during my visit. The choice of programming on the restaurant’s television was a point of contention for my dining companion. The broadcast of Fox News created an uncomfortable environment for us, as it sparked discussions about the political bias associated with the channel. While I understand that entertainment options in dining establishments can vary, the presence of a politically charged news station detracted from the otherwise pleasant ambiance.
In conclusion, Magnolias at 26th offers a delightful breakfast buffet with excellent food and service that makes it a must-visit in Myrtle Beach. However, the choice of television programming is something the management may want to reconsider to ensure a more universally welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Despite this minor setback, I will continue to recommend this restaurant to those seeking a satisfying...
Read moreThis was outstanding, excellent , awesome and to me represented the very best in southern hospitality and absolutely delicious southern food !!! I was most impressed by the warm welcome and then the attentive and knowledgeable waiter who took us on a culinary journey of the absolutely delicious buffet menu. First the salad bar had the freshest and crunchiest of salad greens and a qualitative selection of homemade dressings. The potato soup reminded me of my grandmother’s recipe using only the freshest of garden grown potatoes! The knowledgeable waiter explained that all the vegetables. Are grown by the magnolias owner on his farm. The potato scallops were exceptionally flavoured with nibble sized fresh bacon pieces and a bechamel sauce with a wonderful cheese addition. The ribs and southern fried chicken were addictive because you could taste the variety of seasoning and spices plus both meats oozed with a richness and juiciness of farm raised poultry and hogs. Everything had such a unique down home southern flavour. These have to be recipes that have been handed down for generations. The desserts bar was adorned with the most creative display of homemade homemade desserts. The peach cobbler had fresh peaches, the chocolate eclairs had fresh country whip cream and the banana custard bread pudding just sent me to the cardiac ward. I also enjoyed the delicious southern pecan pie with a pie crust that that was a recipe from a family heirloom. Once you dine at magnolias you will not go to their competitors. This was an absolutely memorable southern tradition meal made with love, from family recipes and made from scratch ingredients from southern people who cook for you as if you were...
