In awe that the second time around visiting this place the service and food was mediocre. I visit Nashville / Clarksville frequently on business and the first time I had them. I fell in love. The service at the bar was great and speedy. Servers very knowledgeable and welcoming. So much that I hate to give a one star review based off of my second time, but consistently does matter. Especially driving a while just for their pancakes only to be given a pancake remake that was cold and tasted like chemicals. Maybe it was done on purpose because I wanted a new pancake (which was offered by the server anyway) after the first one brought was covered in syrup after the syrup spilled all over it as it was brought to the table. I’m sorry, I’m just not one who drowns their pancake in syrup especially if the pancake is so good. The server Alex was very rushed…didn’t offer an appetizer …brought cold coffee after waiting a while for it (didn’t receive coffee until after the food came)…no creamer….no water refills. No condiments for the steak. We had to get up and get our own straws condiments and Up charged us without the ticket being itemized as to why. Manager did correct the ticket so we appreciate her for that. Alex apologized and acknowledged only one of us as we left which was my partner and not me whose food was messed up and then asked my bf why he didn’t receive a tip. I’ve been a server many years and you never ask your table why they don’t leave a tip. Very classless and we felt he just didn’t deserve one. We tip 20% or better. But tips aren’t automatic. You do have to do your job and do it well. The entitled attitude was such a turn off from the place because as a server, I’ve given great service with no tip but didn’t take it personal because I knew I did my job to the best of my ability. And if I didn’t I genuinely apologized for their dissatisfaction of their food and service. He wouldn’t know how we felt about the food or service because he never asked how everything was. Anyway, I may have complained about it to my colleagues but never ask the guest why. Just very uncouth. We feel we didn’t receive close to his best service and he needs to know that no one has to give you anything. I hated I experienced this because I fell in and out of love so fast. Eggs were amazing as well as the biscuits! Always love their candied bacon. Hate I missed out on...
Read moreBest brunch place in Nashville!!! We sat at the bar and were served by Carrie Jean and Rachel. We were told when we got there they were at full capacity and we said we were in no rush- however, the service was quick and perfect!! Carrie Jean was making drinks for the entire restaurant and still found a way to make our experience nothing short of great! The girl never stops!!! Anthony (the owner) and Rachel (the manager) were so friendly and talked to us about their family’s memorabilia within the restaurant- we love a place with a good story and boy does this place have an amazing history!! Also, Anthony was so involved with the service and was doing whatever job his employees needed him to to help them out! As far as the food goes, my husband and I were both highly impressed! Their homemade jam is the best we have ever had! We wanted to take jars home with us but are flying so we will be going online to order some! I had the prime rib hash and my husband had the farmers omelette- we couldn’t finish our meals because we also had to buttermilk biscuits before our entrees but man did we try!! From the service to the food and cocktails, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!! Thank you to all the folks at 417 Union for finishing our Nashville trip...
Read moreWe came by this place as we do oftentimes and that we were just walking around saw it and walked in there. A couple of people that were coming out I asked him how good the food was and they said it was all very good.
We went there on a Sunday morning for breakfast and were not disappointed. The building is rather historical because of that they only have one bathroom but that's not really too big of a negative. The menu is fairly simple in terms of breakfast food as well as the prices. All over the walls and hopefully the pictures that I posted portray this but there are images of world War II era soldiers and their families. Music from the '40s completes the atmosphere. In researching the building once we were there we learn that it was a tea room from the early 1900s until fairly recently. Prices for each dish are posted on their menu however they're around 10 to $20 per item. Not vastly different from any other downtown Nashville restaurant. The quality of the items deserves mention. The eggs potatoes and biscuits are all very delicious. My girlfriend had a strawberry lemonade that even for someone that doesn't like lemonade this was very good. They make their own jams which are equally delicious. This is a must visit if you're in the area walking by...
