It has been about 4 years since dining at Olive Garden and to be honest I have mixed results! My wife and I came in a Saturday at the noon hour and we were seated immediately.
We had an awesome server with Nicole! Very attentive and was on top of everything the entire meal!
We started out with Calamari as our appetizer! I must admit this is one of the better appetizer’s I’ve enjoyed. Over the past month I’ve tried Calamari at four different Italian Restaurant’s and this is by far one of the best.
Since it’s been a while dining at OG I took my time reviewing the menu. Absent was the pizza - no where to be found! That was disappointing!
We selected the OG Salad & breadsticks prior to our meal. It was presented as usual in a salad bowl and chilled salad plates. One of my pet peeves is not having a chilled plate. We quickly noticed that there were large pieces of salad & salad chunks which made it difficult to eat. Salad should be served in bite size pieces. The salad was as I remembered with their signature dressing.
I looked at the Lasagna Classico and much to my surprise this one contained no Ricotta cheese. The menu indicated it only had Parmesan, Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano and Meat Sauce. I’m just not a fan of ricotta cheese! I thought my decision was made until my wife suggested the Tour of Italy which odd what I selected. This included the Lasagna Classico, Chicken Parmigiana, and the Fettuccine Alfredo. Thank goodness I made the change!
This dish came with three portions of each and what a great way to satisfy my urge for Italian. The best on the plate was the Chicken Parmigiana , Chicken perfectly cooked and a great crunchy exterior topped with sauce & cheese. The Fettuccine Alfredo was like I remember with a great Alfredo sauce. I thought I saved the best for last but one bite told me otherwise. This lasagna actually had ricotta and I had to ask our server to verify and sure enough it did. It’s a texture problem that sadly I’ve never overcome. Not to take away from the meal but 2 out of 3 is not bad.
My wife chose the 6 oz sirloin served with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo. It was a disappointment to her and I had to taste to agree. The meat was tough to cut, no steak knife was provided. The steak lacked overall flavor! When dining at an Italian restaurant I would advise against getting steak.
When I dine out with my wife we have to decide if we want an appetizer or dessert simply because it’s a lot to eat! E passed on the dessert.
The upside to the whole experience was we had outstanding service! Even as we were finalizing our bill I had our server Nicole guide me through the self checkout process. It’s not that I failed but the table unit froze. She cheerfully took our gift card & credit card and brought back the final bill.
Overall it was a good dining experience with just a few exceptions. I’m not certain when I’ll be back to dine here again just simply because they are so many other options to choose from. The main reason I came this time was because I had a gift card from Christmas that I...
Read moreAlright. So to get started, my family goes to olive garden as a joke because we have never had a good experience. But this one was just so bad that we laughed the whole time. Honestly it brought us together as a family. For starters, we waited 15-20 minutes for drinks and lemme tell ya, i was parched. We got our soup, salad and breadsticks (that were so cold) before our drinks. Then when we got the drinks they were disgusting. The pink lemonade had every single one of us gagging. Something is up with that soda machine. Also note that 3 out of 4 bowls of Pasta Fagoli came without pasta. It was straight up soup no pasta. How does that even happen. PASTA is literally in the name. And it was cold. Also we asked for lemons and dressing and it took another 20 minutes to get them. We sat there for an hour before we ever got to order. We ordered the Spaghetti with garlic sauce. First off we got alfredo and not garlic. And then when they finally brought the right food it was awful. My brothers food had hair in it. Also the worst part, we didn’t get offered mints. What the heck olive garden. I wanted mints. The cherry on top was the fact that we all felt sick immediately. We blew up the christmas city bathrooms, the hobby lobby bathrooms, the gas station bathrooms. Looking like the laxative scene on dumb and dumber. The fear that ensued when my fathers tummy started hurting was to be remembered. Oh also!!! The waiter was so rude to me. He brought us 3 waters (there were 4 of us) and we ordered dr pepper, coke, and two waters one with lemon. when i kindly told him that we had gotten different drinks. he picked up the water that was by my brother and slammed in down in front of me. It was so rude for no reason. idk who hurt his feelings today but he didn’t have to take it out on me. AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND MY...
Read moreArrived shortly before 9, was seated in under 10 mins, this is the best part of our experience. It says a lot when the bathrooms smell better than the dining area. Our waitress was well, untrained, slow and the worst. She started off while taking our drink order telling us how she was distracted due to her 5 year old having an ear infection, it just got worse from there. We order water with lemon to start, they came in to-go cups (all the regular glasses were dirty per our waitress) yet everyone around us had glasses...hmmm. We ordered our food, I had to show her on the menu what it was, when I ordered a glass of wine had to repeat myself 3 times and then show the menu, she brought the glass (empty) and asked again what kind of wine I wanted. The wait for the wine, the food was too long. I ordered the soup, my husband the chicken Alfredo, she brought my soup before she brought my husbands food. I had to ask where his was, it was 20 mins plus after I got mine before his brought. We asked for more salad, had to ask for it again as she forgot. Food was Luke warm and not anything close to homemade as advertised or stated on the menu. I requested a second bowl of soup, my husband was half way done eating by the time I got it. When we were done )1 1/2 hours later, most of that waiting on something to be brought, she tells us she is usually a better waitress but tomorrow is the anniversary of her two kids death ..... Between the awful service and the fact the dining area smelled like stale carpet that had been walked on by smelly feet and never cleaned, we will never again go back. The manager continued to walk past tables but not once stopped to speak to the patrons, he looked, snubbed and kept on walking.
This place needs to be shut down. Bad service, bad food,...
