Tonight, I experienced the worst customer service I’ve ever had, anywhere. Plus, pitiful accountability for uncooked food.
Mom and I arrived at 4:30. We did not leave until well after 6 due to slow service.
During the meal, we set without drink refills for quite a long time. No sign of the server.
When the food finally arrived, my mom started cutting her fish into pieces, because she’s recently had throat surgery and needs to take small bites. On her first bite, she noticed the fish was rubbery on one side and raw on the other and discolored.
My steak and lobster were fine, the baked potato was raw but I wasn’t too worried about that.
Mom got the server’s attention, and explained the issue. Server agreed to remake the fish. After the average cooking time, the new fish was brought to the table.
Again, mom did the process of cutting the fish into pieces and took two small bites and realized it still tasted off.
Fine. We decided to bring it home, and cook it up for the dog. We put it into a to-go box.
Mom wasn’t feeling well, and hastily put the card in the machine and paid. That’s when she realized she was charged full price. On top of that, she had an outstanding bill for an ala cart fish on top of her normal fish.
We explained the concern to the server who reluctantly agreed to bringing the manager over.
When the manager came over, she never apologized. She walked up and said “Ladies what’s wrong? You didn’t like any of our fishes?”
What a terrible approach to customer service. As a manager, it is her responsibility to show empathy to a person who is noticeably distraught about being served improperly cooked meat. We would have been more than an obliged by a simple apology.
Instead, this manager proceeds to pick up our to-go box and said “then you won’t be needing this then.”
She confiscated the fish and I tried to explain we were taking it for our dog, and she cut me off and said, “you can’t take food you didn’t pay for…”
Even though Mom had paid for full bill of $70 already, and only had the outstanding ala cart check which never should have been on there.
I had to beg her not yo charge us, because she said two fish entrees would show as stolen to her inventory…
I asked for my refund. The manager then got animated with her hands pointing at me saying “I won’t be talking to YOU anymore and turned her back and looked at my mom.”
I explained that my Mom was hard of hearing and she would need to talk to me. For some reason this really upset her and told me I need to get out..
I can’t believe I was forced to be in this position. This was morbidly embarrassing.
After all of that, the manager then cancelled our whole order, and RE-RAN the order without the fish. So now, Mom has double charges on her account until the first one falls off. I don’t understand why she didn’t just refund the fish. But then, nothing this manager did made any sense.
She’s truly and evil, awful woman. My husband proposed to me here over 20 years ago. I will NEVER, ever go back. This woman is not safe around food or people,...
Read moreToday, my family and I went to Red Lobster for lunch, and unfortunately, our experience started off in a very disappointing and uncomfortable way. I arrived a few minutes before my family and went to the restroom while they parked. When my mom and the rest of the family came inside, they assumed I had already gotten a table and began walking toward the dining area to find me.
As my mom passed the hostess stand, an older lady working there very rudely yelled, “WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” across the restaurant. If that wasn’t bad enough, she then mockingly yelled “Coo koo coo koo” at my mom to get her attention — completely uncalled for and incredibly disrespectful. My mom turned around, understandably confused and embarrassed, and calmly explained that she was just looking for me. Instead of handling it professionally, the hostess snapped back, saying, “Well, I seated two parties, but I don’t know who they are,” with a terrible attitude.
When I came out of the restroom and heard what had happened, my husband asked the hostess for a table for five. Even though there were several open tables visible, she coldly told us there would be a 20-minute wait. At that point, we all felt so unwelcome by the way this woman treated us that we decided to leave and head next door to Olive Garden.
As we were walking out, an employee named Jasmine stopped us at the door and kindly asked what happened. After hearing about the situation, she was extremely apologetic and immediately offered to seat us. Jasmine was truly wonderful — warm, professional, and attentive throughout our entire meal. Even though she was busy with several tables, she went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of and did everything she could to make up for the terrible first impression we experienced.
While Jasmine’s excellent service saved the visit, the way we were treated by the older hostess was completely unacceptable. No customer deserves to be spoken to or disrespected like that, especially in a family restaurant. I sincerely hope management addresses this issue, because no matter how good the food or other staff are, one rude employee can ruin an...
Read moreSo me and my boyfriend went tonight and he’s exempt because he just got a steak lol I tried the seafood boil that is what I was super interested in and I got the Mariners boil and it comes with a lobster tail, snow crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, and corn and all of it was very very good like each thing was decent so for the lobster tail, it was on the smaller end but they cut it in half so that was very easy to eat And I loved that. And It tasted good Then for the crab legs, they were easy to eat, and the meat was all there they weren’t over boiled or anything and they were super good The shrimp was honestly my favorite part. I do wish there was more, but it was so good and the corn was good, but I think it would’ve been better if there was more as a garlic taste honestly, it was just kind of like greasy butter so it wasn’t my favorite and it had a light garlic taste so if it was more garlic, I think I would’ve Loved it more. I’m not a fan of potato so I didn’t eat them but everything was great. My server was amazing. I do think the price should maybe be like $50 not $55 But you know it’s a five dollar difference I just really think it was missing like the garlic taste, but I will go back cause it was pretty decent. Honestly, it was better than Brent’s Cajun so I def recommend! The biscuits were great and I got a frozen strawberry margarita and it was amazing. My boyfriend left his steak and then we got a brownie for dessert and we couldn’t finish it cause we were so full so definitely a 4.5 out of 5!! I...
