The hotel has some nice and modern amenities, with an indoor pool, a gym, and a good complimentary breakfast. That was more than offset by probably the worst customer service I have ever seen
There was a confusion on our booking which was made for 3 guests but apparently on a room with only one king bed. Obviously 3 adults do not fit well in one king bed. We asked the reception if they could provide us with a room suited for 3, but they said the hotel was full and there was no way to update.
We understood that the hotel cannot move us, so we decided to look for another room in a nearby hotel. Once we confirmed that such an option was available, we went again to the front desk to ask if they could kindly cancel our room so that we can move to another hotel with a room for 3. Unfortunately the staff at the front desk totally disregarded our request and kept repeating that there is nothing they could do as the hotel was fully booked today.
They also made it clear that the responsibility was entirely on us (or the third party we booked with, Booking). While we acknowledge that we picked the room and the description only listed a king bed, the room capacity was clearly for 3 guests and one can reasonably assumed that something such as a sofa bed would be available to accommodate the third person. It is quite deceptive of the hotel to make such rooms available to bookings for 3 guests, and I would argue that the mistake is at the very least shared between us and the hotel.
At the end, the staff wouldn't budge and we gave up and stayed in that room. Needless to say, we had a pretty horrible night.
Here's some direct feedback to the hotel if they want to avoid the repetition of such an incident in the future: Do not mark rooms for 2 people (one king bed) as having capacity for 3. No need to be greedy. When it's obvious that there was some understanding confusion in the booking, you can afford to cancel one night for one guest free of charge. There are plenty enough rooms and plenty enough nights to make some money, just do right by the customer. Had you agreed to cancel, you'd probably had earned 3 stellar reviews, instead you get 3 bad ones.
Oh, and there's one more thing. The WiFi was not working for our...
Read moreStay clear from giving your money to this business. My room had dirty stains all over the bathroom. The bottom of the shower curtain was yellow. We arrived at night and received proper care from a female working front desk, but during the day, when who claimed to be the manager Burak was there, we were given uncalled for remarks. When we checked in at night we brought in food with us, and asked the front desk lady if it was okay, and were told there was no problem with food in the room. Meanwhile in the morning the unprofessional manager, told us we could not take breakfast back to our room. When we asked where does it say it is a rule in this building that food is not allowed in the room, he did not say it said that but simply demanded out loud, that we are to sit down on the table and eat. Yet to top it off, they have snacks at front desk that they sell, which I bought from when we checked in & took to the room, yet I am still considered a cheap guest? The manager continued to get loud with my boyfriend & then continued to insult us by yelling to our faces while other guests were watching, that we are “cheap guests.” When we paid full price just as any other customer, & were paying for 5 nights. So what made us cheap? We then left the food on the table and were going to our room. As we continued to our room, the manager followed us and called the cops and threatened us to have us arrested. He also threatened us saying, “you will see an insult in a minute.” Then as he continued to follow us to our room, he got in my boyfriends personal space & face & instigated him repeating “do something, show me what you’ll do about it”, at this moment we felt unsafe and feared what this guy would try to do to us possibly physically, & we decided to leave for our own safety. We felt humiliated, we have never experienced this type of behavior anywhere, and I believe no one should have to go through these feelings of humiliation, disrespect, and most importantly feeling unsafe of where they are staying. Please spend your money on a hotel that at least has a professional manager, clean building, and makes...
Read moreUpon arrival we were informed that our room was not ready yet, the desk attendant let us know he would take down our phone number and call us when the cleaning team had finished. We waited for over an hour for this call to come; it never did. When walking back into the hotel lobby we found that the desk attendant had left and a new attendant was there; he had no idea we had been waiting. The management staff clearly does not communicate with each other.
With that being said, the room itself was as advertised, clean, and comfortable. (Other than the air conditioning unit that needed to be serviced; it made a loud rattling noise all night long)
To preface; we had hiked 20 miles through the Grand Canyon the day prior so we wanted to sleep in. Around 9:30 AM the next morning, housekeeping used their master key to enter our room unannounced (check out is not until 11 AM). This is what really ruined this stay for us, it is extremely disconcerting for a stranger to walk into your room while you’re asleep. I find is ridiculous that they would not verify the room had been vacated prior to just walking in.
When actually starting to bring our suitcases down to the car, the staff repeatedly asked us if we were done with our room. I understand the need to get the rooms turned and ready, but at the cost of the comfortability of your current guests?
Finally, not necessarily affecting the overall rating, but for my fellow tall travelers. I am about 6’ 4” and the shower head is mounted just below my chin.
To summarize: the hotel itself would have gotten a better rating if the management...
